How do you organize your makeup?

Reposting here as I didn't get any responses there. I'm just stumped on how to categorize things. Not like "what kind of shelves do I need?" and more like "how do I categorize the lip tint that's also a blush?"

Finally took the time to organize my makeup drawers. Didn’t take as long as I thought it would. Can’t get over how good it looks. May have made some space for new lippies 🤭Gonna try my hardest to keep it this way!

DIY Projects App for tracking your makeup collection, expiration dates & routines is now on Android (no account needed)

Hello again,

A while ago we shared Beautitia here, our app for organizing beauty products and routines. Thank you so much to everyone who tried it and left feedback, it really meant a lot! 🙏

We listened to what you told us, and we have two updates:

  • Beautitia is now available on Android! A lot of you asked for it, so here it is.
  • You can now use the app without an account. If you don't want to sign up, just continue as a guest and start building your collection. You can always create an account later if and when you want to.

For anyone who missed the first post, here's what it can do:

  • Personal notes on your products, ratings, expiration tracking, prices, and more
  • Barcode scanning to add products in seconds
  • Morning and evening routines, step by step
  • A wishlist for products you want to try
  • A simple, clean design without the visual clutter

The app is still free (with optional premium).

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=agency.dotproduct.beautitia
iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/beautitia/id6779749768

Your feedback is still incredibly valuable to us, especially from Android users since that version just launched. If something doesn't work right, is missing, or annoys you, please let us know!

Thanks so much, and take care!

Messy but I just had a paused moment of appreciating my chaotic little "getting ready" situation

I am looking for a simple Space NK type of travel bag for my makeup as they are currently in some random travel bags xD

Looking for a vanity similar to a built in alcove vanity

Post image

So my house has an alcove vanity with mirrors surrounding it, and im so used to this type of vanity because i use the walls to support and make my hands steady when i do makeup (this is also where ive learned to do makeup) and struggle doing it anywhere else 😭 I also stand while getting ready and just lean on the counter. However i might be moving soon and i know not all houses have a vanity like this so i am looking for a buyable one with the same essence as an alcove vanity like the picture

I dont know which subreddit to post as i dont have enough karma but maybe there are some people here who are also used to this set up like me 💔 Please help a girl out

Ideas for makeup/jewelry organization?

Thumbnail

Greetings all! I came here wondering what some of you do for organization or ideas; I am hoping to try to store all my makeup and maybe jewelry (if possible🥶) in the same concept-or two separate things if need be. I have seen some ideas for eyeshadow palette storage with shelves (I attached an image) as I have a fair amount of pallets, they are the largest items, and may be the most difficult to engineer storage wise. Ideally I’m thinking wall storage as where I live currently is limited with space, but I have plenty of wall space. I also plan to move in the coming months and figured something on the wall may be easier to move..? Anyways, any and all ideas are welcome!

If it’s something I have to build, that’s totally fine also! I enjoy crafting so that’s not a limitation :)

I'm building a custom makeup vanity for my wife and I need input

My wife loves makeup and expressed interest in a makeup vanity. She loves the custom desk I built for her to work from home and loves when I build these things rather than buy them. Fortunately, I have the capability and means to do this with a professional result. I need input on what makes a great makeup vanity. Things I'm looking for our what is included in your dream vanity, things you love about a current setup you have, things you don't like about a current setup you have so I can avoid the mistake, things you wish you had in your current setup and general information about the details in what is necessary. Drawer sizes & placement, mirror and lighting, shelves or none, heights, anything you can think of that would make the perfect makeup vanity. This is completely custom and I have the capability/resources to do just about anything.

Which type of vanity mirror would you choose?

I’ve been testing three different LED vanity mirrors and noticed that they solve quite different needs.

One is a classic larger mirror, one is a compact pink model, and the third is a portable mirror built into a makeup case.

What matters most to you in a vanity mirror: lighting quality, size, portability, magnification or something else?

I also made a detailed review showing all three in use:

I found the best way to store and access my eyeliners, lip liners, brow pencils, eyeshadow crayons and lip glosses. These narrow drawers are perfect for this, and stackable!

Finally perfected a rolling makeup station for my home office!

Our master bathroom has very, very little counter space and I’m often the first one awake in the house so I’ve been trying to find a solution that gives me ample space to get ready, doesn’t require me to tote everything to and from another room, and is easy to keep organized.

After a few other iterations, and way too much money spent at The Container Store, I’m finally in love with my setup! This is a 7-drawer mobile filing cabinet (with upgraded, locking wheels!) that I keep in my home office. I can easily roll it over to my desk, get ready before my work calls, and then roll it back when I’m done!

EDIT:

Link to Filing Cabinet: https://a.co/d/05LIjJzv

  • The drawers are surprisingly spacious and actually fit my dyson airstrait in one!
  • Note: The wheels that come with the cabinet aren't the best so i upgraded mine to wheels that could hold more weight, roll smoother, and be easier to lock/unlock into place
