job search Does the LinkedIn job section work & will u be get a call from that

Hi Everyone, I wanted to know one question for people who are using LinkedIn for job hunting.

Does the LinkedIn job section work for you? Are you guys getting responses or calls from the recruiter when you do the easy apply? And yes, then can you confirm your strategy, what you are following, how much you are applying per day and deep dive into what else you are looking for?

If "no", then we are on the same page.

Also, I wanted to mention I am a senior software engineer looking for product-based changes.

Before I got 2 responses through the direct reachout to the recruiter,

Please share your opinion on this. I think this is a majorly doubtful question for every engineer. When people are not getting a response, they try to move to a different platform. In my case, I moved to Naukari, although I used both but at the conclusion, the Naukari website/app works for me.

ALL my job alerts are remote jobs. I want them to be local.

I have my job alerts pinged for local jobs, but ALL of the emails I get are for remote jobs. Honestly, applying for remote jobs is like throwing my time into the trash can. If the whole country is applying, then I stand no chance. And if I am just now seeing the email, then it means that half of the whole country already applied.

I know that's basically how it is for every job, but still. Anyone else have this problem or is it user error?

advanced question Where to put conferences on my profile

This year, I have attended two conferences that were extremely informative and useful for my career. I think it would be relevant to have them on my LinkedIn profile, especially as a graduate school student.

My only issue is that I don't know under what section to post them. I think that it would be natural to write a post about each one, but the issue is that I don't want to post and notify everyone in my network about my existence. I just want people to see them when they open my profile. I looked at other sections to put them in (like volunteering or smth else) but I can't find a section that's relevant.

Is there a section that you guys think would be relevant? Or is there a way to post or do something similar without appearing on people's feeds?

I’ve been using a former employer’s LinkedIn seat after leaving the company. Could this get me into trouble?

I left my previous company almost four months ago, but I’ve continued using a LinkedIn seat that was originally assigned to a former employee. I’ve been using it for my personal job search.

I’m now wondering whether I should stop using it immediately or whether there could be any consequences for having continued to use it after leaving the company.

A few things I’m concerned about:
Can the company track my activity or see what I’ve been doing on the account?
Could this cause any legal or professional trouble for me, even though I’m only using it to look for jobs?
Is there a risk to my personal LinkedIn account or future job prospects?
Should I simply stop using it, or is there anything else I should do?

Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how these LinkedIn seats and company subscriptions work? I’d appreciate honest advice, especially from anyone familiar with LinkedIn account policies or corporate IT practices.

Former employee refuses to transfer LinkedIn Page admin rights

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice on recovering administrative control of my company’s LinkedIn Page.
Our company’s LinkedIn Page currently has a former employee’s personal LinkedIn account as its only Super Admin. This person has left the company but refuses to add any current employees as admins or cooperate with transferring administrative control back to the company.
As a result, our company has no way to manage its own LinkedIn Page.
We have already tried to contact LinkedIn through its support and help pages, but all we seem to get are AI-generated responses. We haven’t been able to reach a real human support representative who can review our situation and help us resolve the issue.
I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation.
Can LinkedIn Support transfer the Super Admin role to an authorized company representative after verifying the company’s ownership?
What documents or evidence would LinkedIn require to verify that we are authorized to manage the Page on behalf of the company?
Is there a way to escalate this issue and speak to a real human support representative rather than receiving automated responses?
Has anyone successfully recovered a company Page when the only Super Admin was a former employee who refused to cooperate? If so, what steps actually worked?
We would strongly prefer to recover the existing Page rather than create a new one and lose our followers, history, and existing presence.
We are looking for a legitimate solution through LinkedIn’s official processes. Any practical advice, particularly from people who have successfully resolved a similar case, would be greatly appreciated.

linkedin 101 LinkedIn Jobs page keeps showing old or no jobs, anyone else?

Has the Jobs page on LinkedIn stopped working properly for you? For me it's been strange for a while now. Under "Jobs based on your preferences" I get just 2 or 3 listings, and below that the page ends with an empty "Search for jobs" section. Some days it shows nothing at all, and the few jobs it does show can be a month old or even a year old.

I've seen the new AI search that asks you to "Describe the job you want," but the results still feel off to me. It's the same on the mobile app and on desktop, and a few other people I know, on their own accounts, see the same thing. So I don't think it's my device or my account.

Are you seeing this too? And if you've found a good way to get fresh, real listings, I'd like to know how to bypass this issue.

privacy and security How LinkedIn uses a broken cancellation UI to trap you in a billing loop and steal your money

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a cautionary tale about how LinkedIn Premium is running what can only be described as a deliberate billing scam, backed by absolute zero accountability from their customer support.

The TL;DR: I cancelled my Premium subscription in August well before my trial ended. The website gave me a big "Success" confirmation screen. Instead of actually cancelling me, their backend ignored it, kept me active, and charged my card for September and October. When I called them out with screenshot and video evidence, support told me "clicking cancel isn't sufficient" and refused a refund because I didn't notice the fraud within 7 days.

Here is the exact timeline of the malpractice:

  • August 3rd: Signed up for a Premium Career trial.
  • August 20th: Navigated to the cancellation page, clicked all the right buttons, and completed the process. The UI explicitly gave me a "Subscription Successfully Cancelled" message. Being wary of corporate greed, I luckily took a screenshot of this confirmation screen.
  • September & October: I look at my bank statement and realize LinkedIn has withdrawn money for two full months.

The Software Glitch / Dark Pattern:
When I went back to see what happened, I realized their system is completely broken. I took a screen recording of the cancellation loop: you click "Cancel Subscription," you go through their compliance maze, the screen flashes, and tells you it was successful. But in the backend database, it never updates your status. It loops you right back to an active billing status while giving you the false assurance that you are safe.

The Support Nightmare:
I opened a ticket (Case #261008-008148) expecting a quick manual override once they saw the August 20th screenshot. Instead, I got a rotation of support agents (shoutout to Sweta and Nawel) who did everything to avoid looking at the technical error:

  1. They closed my ticket multiple times with copy-pasted generic text about a "14-day refund window."
  2. They claimed that because I clicked on a push notification to see "Who Viewed My Profile," I was actively using Premium features, conveniently forgetting that their own official policy states that profile insights are partially viewable for standard free accounts anyway!
  3. Their final, most mind-boggling argument was that navigating to the page and clicking the cancellation buttons is "not sufficient" to cancel. They literally blamed me for not auditing my bank statements or contacting them sooner, completely ignoring that their own website told me I was already cancelled.

To make matters worse, their email support system actively blocks video attachments so you can't even send them the screen recording of their broken interface without aggressively demanding an external upload link.

They have finally forced a manual cancellation on my account now, but are completely refusing to refund the two months of stolen money, hiding behind standard corporate clauses to cover up a malfunctioning backend.

I am bypassing their support entirely now and filing a formal fraud chargeback through my bank with my screenshot and video proof.

Check your credit card statements, everyone. LinkedIn's interface is intentionally designed as a multi-stage trap to keep charging you even after you hit cancel, relying on the fact that busy people won't notice the deductions immediately.

If anyone knows a direct way to escalate technical UI bugs to their product team without getting filtered by front-line support bots, let me know.

personal branding I've grown to 6,500 followers here are some notes

I use zero automations and have never used a ghostwriter

It took a lot of trial and error but heres a breakdown

  1. Fix your profile before you post anything

have ur headline say who u help not whatever the hell else u think u should say

ur banner should be used as an ad

abt section keep it short and go 2-3 lines for each paragraph... give them a reason to reach out

pin your best post or something useful

  1. Post 3 times a week, not every day

Everyone says post daily but I disagree post so you don't burn out

(I POST EVERYDAY BUT START WITH THIS)

Mon: something that happened, what went wrong, what you learned.'

Wed: a resource someone can use

Fri: BTS, personal, ppl follow ppl

POSTING TIME DOES NOT MATTER

  1. The first line is the whole post

Nobody clicks “see more” unless the first line makes them

what i've found has helped

  1. A specific number

  2. A controversial opinion

  3. A moment in the middle of a story

Keep it on one line

  1. Photos over videos, every time (for me)

I’ve never posted a video that worked.

literally selfie photos of me in the moment outperform everything

  1. Comments grow you faster than posts do at the start

When you have 200 followers, nobody sees your posts (sorry linkedin algo)

But you can borrow other people’s audiences

bare min to do everyday

  1. Find 10 to 20 accounts your ideal audience already follows

  2. Leave real comments LIKE PLEASE

  3. DMs are for conversations, not pitches

SOOO MANY PEOPLE mess this up

Someone accepts your request, and you immediately send a paragraph about your services

Im ignoring u

All you have to do is start a conversation.

I like to think of it if there’s a fit, it comes up naturally

If not you still made a connection

  1. Test formats constantly

What worked 6 months ago doesn’t always work now just the name of the game

I keep 80% of posts in formats I know work and use 20% to test something new

carousels, lists, one-liners, a different hook style.

When something does well double down

I rewrote this bc its a crime in here apparently to use ai to format ur post

Happy to answer questions in the comments

What’s the biggest thing stopping you from posting consistently?

personal branding wtf is the algorithm doing??

Impossible to know what’s going to flop or fly these days… one post gets under 300 impressions and 2 likes, the next 70k+ and over 290 likes.

Make it make sense??

How can I make a LinkedIn employment gap less visible? Looking for creative solutions

I'm updating my LinkedIn and have a somewhat unusual career timeline. I'd really appreciate some practical suggestions, especially from recruiters.

My timeline:

  • 2022–2024: Master's degree. Defended my thesis and completed everything except one minor exam in 2024. That exam wasn't offered again until 2025, so my official diploma says 2025.
  • Aug–Oct 2024: Started a full-time job immediately after university at Company A as an Assistant Consultant in CFO Services. Mostly onboarding, learning financial systems and basic accounting. Unfortunately, I was let go during probation.
  • Nov 2024–Jul 2025: Unemployed and actively applying for jobs.
  • Aug 2025–Oct 2026: Finance-related position at Company B.
  • Nov 2026: Starting a new position at Company C.

My dilemma:

I really want to keep 2022–2024 as my education dates on LinkedIn, since I completed practically my entire degree in 2024.

I also strongly prefer not mentioning Company A at all, including its parent company. I've deliberately cut ties with that workplace and don't want any public association with it.

At the same time, I don't want my LinkedIn to give the impression that I graduated and then spent over a year unemployed, especially when I actually secured a full-time job immediately after finishing my thesis.

I'm conscious of how my profile looks not just to recruiters, but also to former classmates and people from my personal life.

Options I've considered:

  1. Keep my education dates and list Company B accurately, leaving the gap.
  2. Change my graduation year to 2025, matching my diploma, which I'd strongly prefer to avoid.
  3. Include Company A or its parent company, despite wanting no association with either.
  4. List my early CFO Services consulting experience without naming Company A.
  5. Extend Company B's employment dates backwards or list freelance consulting to fill the gap, although neither would reflect what actually happened.

Is there a sixth option I'm missing?

Are there any legitimate LinkedIn features, formatting tricks or alternative ways of presenting my experience that could make this timeline look more continuous without inventing employment?

I'm specifically looking for concrete solutions rather than general reassurance that employment gaps are normal.

How would you handle this?

Private Mode: "Top companies your searchers work at"

I have read a million posts/pages, and still no real answer for this.

If you search for someone and click on their profile in fully private mode and page visibility off, does your info appear in any of the "Search Appearances" analytics like "Top companies your searchers work at" if they have LinkedIn Premium?

Note that I am not talking about the profile viewers section of the analytics.

View all analytics --> Overview --> Search Appearances

Disgruntled former employee hijacked the company LinkedIn. How do I restore access or delete the page?

Hello all! I was brought in as the social media manager of a Fortune 500 company in the US. My predecessor left the company under less than amicable terms and, being the subject matter experts that they are, the heads of the corporate communications function didn’t remove her social media admin permissions prior to termination.

She promptly kicked everyone else off and changed the login credentials/2FA to her personal email/cell phone. I have access to her contact information and did not receive a response after reaching out to her. I also have access to her old company email inbox, and could not find any helpful information.

My options are to either convince her to change over the login credentials (completely unlikely as this has already been attempted and I do not want to stalk her) or find a way to nuke the account.

How should I proceed?
