Brief Article 2015 Lexus RX 350 - Amazed in 2026

Post image
• Upvotes

So I initially came from a 2019 BMW X5. It was by far my favorite car. From transitioning between a car to a pickup truck I realized an SUV was perfect for me. The X5 looked great, felt premium and drove awesome.

Unfortunately after nearing 200,000km it started shaking. So the fiancée suggested I sell it fast before check engine lights start welcoming us.

With all the stressful wedding payments I decided to downgrade and got myself into a 2022 Ford Escape SE. which lasted about 3 weeks. Sure it’s a practical car but that 3 cylinder engine had no balls, was too peppy and shockingly was worse on gas than the X5!

I decided to look for something else and trade in the escape.

I was initially looking at another BMW and my father suggested I look at Lexus. Explained to me that it’s the premium feeling of a BMW with the reliability of a Toyota.

I went to a used dealership to look at a 2015 RX 350 and was skeptical on the age but ended up being sold right from the test drive.

Wow. Just wow.

It looks fantastic, drives so smooth, and has more features than the X5!

What I love a lot about this car is the fact that it runs on 87 gas!! I was spending about $180 a tank on the X5.

Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of this RX 350. It has 120,000km on it and I’m hoping to keep this car for the next 7-10 years as I only do about 5000-10,000km yearly.

The sound system on it is absolutely incredible too.

Such a smooth ride and I can’t believe how quiet it is with the windows up.

Just feels like such a premium car which is crazy to say as it’s 11 years old. I read online that the 2013-2015 line is super reliable which is why I initially went to look at this car.

I used to be a BMW fan but I am all for Lexus now. What a phenomenal vehicle. I hope this one does me good for years to come and I’ll be happy to buy another whenever that time comes.

The only thing I’m probably going to upgrade is the screen, thinking of putting a 12” with CarPlay to fill the deep square that the current little one is sitting in.

Couldn’t be happier with this car. Lexus is absolutely amazing!

Question How many of you here actually owned or driven the 23-25 LS500 or LS500h? How big of a jump is it from the 23-25 ES and the 26 ES in terms of ride quality and isolation?

We're talking diminishing-return improvements? Or are we talking a huge noticeable jump?

Got this to replace my 13 with 172 that got totaled. This car isn’t even broken in yet. Still smells like new, the buttons are firm, steering and suspension feel soooo much tighter than my 13. Incredible how well these cars hold up when you take care of them. Can’t wait to drive this for years to come

Question Ls 460 tick

I have a noise that popped up on my ls460L so it has the vvti rattle in the morning but it goes away within a second. The noise I’m worried about is a ticking that happens. When I rev it after starting there is no noise when I put it in gear it clicks if I put it in gear and hold the brakes and throttle it there is click 2-3 clicks and when I put it in park after driving it it clicks 1-2 times when I rev it any idea what this may be

Question How’s the leg space in the backseat of Lexus IS 350?

Hi everyone, I’m leaning at purchasing the Lexus is350. The only thing I’m worried about is how small the leg space is going to be at the backseat. Would it be comfortable for a person that is 6+ feet tall?

Discussion Lexus Subscriptions

Post image
2 Upvotes

I got a notification that my Go Anywhere subscription is expiring soon. I was previously subscribed to Remote Connect on its own, not one of these bundled services, and I don’t recall canceling the subscription. So naturally I’m confused. I speak to subscription services & apparently Lexus has changed their subscription services, along with the packages, and FORGOT to tell us…or me? I was told they unsubscribed me, which is weird because I’m still subscribed, as you can see in the photo, and that they need to escalate this one.

Anyone else having similar issues? I have gone ahead and canceled automatic withdrawal with my bank, because they were still planning on withdrawing money from my account at the end of this month, even though I am allegedly unsubscribed….or am I? Lexus, get your shit together!!!

Question Lexus UX 250h

About 3 months ago, I start receiving “data communication module activation failed” every time they start their vehicle? If so, how did you fix it? I’ve tried taking it to Lexus but they wanted to charge $300 to run diagnostics. I’ve read in other posts to unplug the battery but I don’t want to cause further issues with my car. Would love any insist

Question Ls460L timing questions

So I just bought a 2010 ls460L with 125000 miles it has the vvti rattle in the morning but I just got a oil change level and my engine started ticking I checked oil level and it was good but in the morning it doesn’t tick I can rev it with no tick but when I drive around and it gets up to temp it ticks and when I park after driving and rev it it ticks 2-3 times I’m buying a new timing chain and tensioner and vvti gears. But do I need special parts for the cam lock or to pull the harmonic balancer or if anyone has a manual for torque specs or how to set timing that would be amazing

Discussion Thoughts on RCF Track/Fuji Speedway Edition

Wanted opinions on RCF track and especially Fuji speedway edition. I’ve always wanted an RCF and there is a Fuji for sale at Lexus dealer few states over. Thinking about picking it up but a bit unsure. It has 38k miles and is not being sold as certified. Before I book a flight to check it out wanted some thoughts and opinions on the RCF track and Fuji editions and if anyone has experience with them.

Question Looking to replace 17 RX350 with 23 or newer NX350h or RX350h

My wife currently drives a '17 RX350 with 96k. I want to sell it before it hits 100k miles. I was originally planning to replace it with a 23 or newer 350h, but we don't need the extra room, so I think an NX350h would be fine and save about 10gs. Just curious if anyone has made the switch.

Discussion Lexus in France

I’ve been in Paris for the week and noticed a stronger Lexus presence than I did when I visited 4 years ago. I will admit, the lions share of the cars I saw was car service but pretty much every E class and 5 series I saw was car service. I actually have seen more new generation ESs here than I have in the states. I did see a bunch of BYDs. I wanted to check out their dealership but didn’t have the time.

Question Lexus Manuals

I have had a 2026 NX-350H for about a month now. I have to say, the user manuals are among the worst I've ever seen.

A lot of the Youtube videos for this car seem to have been done 3+ years ago inasmuch as the layout of the switches on the steering wheel are not the same as what comes on the car now.

Is there any way short of checking the original date of the video to determine if the video is useful prior to wading into it?

Are there any third party developed user-guides?

Vehicle Photo Nicest aircon switches I’ve used.

First time driving a Lexus. These might be some of the nicest aircon switches I’ve seen. I don’t know if they are metal but they feel super nice, especially with the knurling. And click down or up both sounds and feels very tactile and precise when you press it, and when it clicks back to place after you let go. Quite nice especially for this class of car.

Traded in my 2017 Audi A4 quattro premium for this, and I am so beyond happy I made that decision. This Lexus has been such a treat to drive and I am looking forward to having a much more reliable car to ideally have for the next 10-15+ years with proper care. The only thing I worry about is undercarriage rust with Iowa winters.

Question Digital Key Keeps Breaking

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have owned my 2026 Lexus RX450 H+ for about 6 months now, and I can never rely on having the digital key function when I need it.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, One UI 9 but the issue also occurred on One UI 8.5.

The app will show the digital key with the red exclamation point, and clicking Download does nothing. I can't operate the car using the digital key in this state.

If I delete the app cache and data, log back in, it let's me download the key again as long as I am in my car with the fob. Then the digital key works again, until a few days later when the problem repeats.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Just seen this beauty on a local car yard, allegedly it has a collapsed air suspension+ some otter issues they didn't disclose, but for 1800$ I dunno I might get it just as a yard ornament.

Discussion Looking for fog light recommendations for my 16' IS.

Post image
3 Upvotes

My passenger-side fog lights recently went out, I had the iJDMToy ones from Amazon.

They were great as they lasted 4ish years, however, I just learned that the bulb is not replaceable (what a waste).

Now looking for recommendations for different type, ideally ones that allow you to change the bulb once it burns out.

Also, which is the part of the OEM headlight that requires you to replace the entire headlight unit?
