Hey Jacksonville! I’m the designer of Gibbon Take, a fast family/party game published by my small independent company, Simeous Business, just up the road in Yulee.
We spent last weekend demoing the game at WasabiCon, and it was great getting it in front of so many local players.
Gibbon Take is a 2–6 player game about building a party of Primate Dancers, collecting fruit, and occasionally stealing it from everybody else. It takes about 20 minutes, is easy for families to learn, and has just enough take-that to be mischievous without being punishing.
A funny thing we’ve discovered recently is that several people who played Gibbon Take with us at conventions later found out through Reddit that the Kickstarter had finally launched — so I figured I should share it with the hometown crowd too.
We’re live on Kickstarter now:

Hey all, I’m (21F) super bored and just got back into Pokemon Go after being inactive for a while. I think it’d be super fun with the nice weather and everything, but unfortunately it’s hard finding others what are still into the game.
If anyone is interested or knows of a discord or group chat, please let me know! I’d be down to go or do whatever.

Every time I come up to the Airshow the traffic is a complete cluster of people parking in lanes that other people who actually work on the base are trying to use to get to work. I have seen at least 10 officers, FHP, Sheriff's office, and Base drive right by. Nope, nobody care that this is completely mismanaged.

Fireman451 was and is the original poster of what is said below.
I am a former employee of a few years who worked for both Chamblin Bookmine & Uptown, thoroughly knowing all of the ins & outs of the business and Ron Chamblin. While Chamblin is a human being with various facets, including an abundance of positive, the accusations that have been recently made are 100% true. For the most part, he personally treated me well, although this was certainly not the case for all employees or customers. I, admittedly, have an unhealthy tolerance for abusive environments in general, and working for Chamblin was without a doubt an unhealthy, abusive environment.
Chamblin has a raging temper and perpetual paranoia. He uses demonstrations of his anger and property destruction to frighten employees into submission. He uses money to maintain control, cutting or increasing pay according to his immediate needs, and makes himself nearly impossible to locate during pay week when he wants to give an employee a hard time or to string them along. Chamblin is easily stressed and easily escalated. When I think about his anger, I get a visual flash of how red his face becomes when he is irate and the burning contrast between his red face and his white hair.
It is common knowledge that Chamblin owns guns and spends an excessive amount of time and effort finding various ways to lock up and secure his stores and book collection, including but not limited to sleeping at all of his properties to stand guard and stalking & installing a GPS on a former employee's car who he had accused of theft. (There is evidence to prove this and maybe it will eventually come out). Chamblin accuses virtually every employee who angers him of theft, frequently using stealing as a reason that an employee was either let go- even when they willingly leave. Additionally, it is notable to add that the majority of Chamblin books are not categorized in an inventory and due to the extreme disorganization, Chamblin is perpetually unable to locate specific books on a daily basis, including books that he considers high in value.Chamblin accuses virtually every employee who angers him of theft, frequently using stealing as a reason that an employee was either let go- even when they willingly leave. Chamblin thrives on having control. He is extremely intelligent and can be quite charming. He regularly employs desperate people in high need of work. On one hand, this is kind and giving. On the other hand, he targets their vulnerability and significantly benefits from his authority status. Chamblin is acutely aware that he can require these employees to work in oppressive conditions rarely witnessed by those who work solely within his two popular storefronts. There are other employees who he treats better, but again, this depends on their level of vulnerability and his level of respect towards the individuals. He also had a Russian bride over whom he imposed his power and she hid in the back, stamping books for hours on end while crying and expressing her feelings of being trapped and helpless. Chamblin, additionally, gets great pleasure from misleading customers into accepting minimal compensation for valuable books that they bring for cash and credit. Within the work environment, Chamblin is overtly proud of his manipulative and deceptive abilities towards customers and employees.
As far as racism and sexism, I have witnessed countless examples of these from Chamblin himself, which he typically delivers in a fashion presented as teasing, but is really just another way that he demonstrates control.
-the unfortunate truth found only in the secret room masked by a hinged bookcase (and, yes, there is one)

PS: I have the images of the GPS Spark Nano tracking device that was placed under my friend's car. I have no axe to grind, it's simply time the truth is told. We ain't getting any younger.

Anyone have any recommendations or good or bad experiences with it?
Likely going to do the JaxBread one but the class is three hours right over dinner. Do they feed you, expect you to buy food in house?
Don't know if I can get through a whole class on an empty stomach.

I bet from the First Coast News video link that the figures showing which employees would take over the Bookmine compared to the 31 total employees must have ticked off the other workers who aren't getting a slice of the bookstore pie. In that October 6th interview, Ron says he is only considering a handpicked group of 10 to 15 long-term workers for a minority 30 percent trust stake.
But look at how the story changes just five days later in the October 11th What Now report, which suddenly claims the transition goes to approximately 30 employees just to make it look like a fair collective.
The real kicker is the legal layout of the commercial real estate. Ron is moving his five commercial properties into a completely separate real estate trust, meaning the bookstore trust will be locked into paying monthly commercial rent out of its profits straight into Ron's pocket just to use his buildings.
These properties include the Downtown store on Laura St and the Roosevelt Blvd flagship setup, which actually spans multiple parcels including the main Roosevelt store, the old kindergarten building on Walter Ave, and the dirt lot on Lakeside Dr under Chamblin Bookmine LLC.
Let’s also not forget the 2050 Forest St address in Jacksonville, Florida. If you look at the county property appraiser website under Ron Chamblin's name with his Laura St mailing address, it explicitly locks down 2050 Forest St under the Official Record Book. This is the warehouse he uses to keep a massive amount of high-value overstock and special books hidden from public view.
The chosen workers are running a debt-free cash machine just to pay commercial rent right back to their landlord while Ron cuts his week down to three days and takes vacation time.
If you don't believe me, watch the video timestamps and read the article paragraphs to look for yourself.

My friend, she has to find another place to live. I don’t know if this breaks the rules or not. Please let me know if this is not allowed. She can only pay 1300.00 or less. This is serious. Please be kind.

The new 2nd & Charles is taking over the 21,000-square-foot space right by the AMC theater at the Orange Park Mall (1910 Wells Road, Orange Park, Florida 32073).
Since they are owned by Books-A-Million, which has been in business since 1917, they have plenty of corporate backing and capital behind them.
This gives everyone on the Westside of Jacksonville, Florida, and Clay County a massive spot to buy, sell, and trade used books, vinyl, and media without having to fight traffic all the way out to the Town Center location (4972 Town Center Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, Florida 32246 | 904-642-1342.

I’ve been making some music recently and I think it would be better if I was with people and not by myself. I sing and play keyboard and ukulele. How would I go about forming a band? I want to do sort of alternative rock/ indie music. With women in their early 20’s. Comment if interested!!!
