Housing Thread Orlando Housing Thread
Link to last month's Housing Thread
Welcome to the Orlando housing megathread!
Currently, the following may be posted:
- Users, whether current Orlando residents or not, may post asking for help. This could be asking for recommendations on areas of Orlando to live in, reviews or opinions on specific communities, or suggestions on specific places to live. This can also be things like "recommend a realtor / loan officer / etc" — so long as it fits under the "help me find housing" umbrella.
- Users may also post advertising housing options. This can be posts offering subleases, looking for roommates on existing property, selling homes — so long as there is housing being offered.
- ALL comments must include as much information as possible. Do not say "I'm moving to Orlando, tell me where to live."
As a reminder: our subreddit rules still apply. Advertisements for illegal activity of any kind are not permitted and will result in comment removals and/or bans as moderators see fit.

Discussion Orlando has its share of this type of behavior from its “upper classes”. A certain group of brothers comes to mind here locally…turns out they are friends with these guys too.

Discussion Survivors of domestic abuse resources?
Hello, I'm a 28 year old survivor of domestic abuse. Are there like groups or anything in Florida to help build confidence? I finally got out of it. Thank you.

Discussion Hot Dog Guy Missing
Does anyone know where the hot dog stand guy is? The one that usually sits at the corner of the bank on Orange near Insomnia? I haven’t seen him in a minute and I’m really concerned because he’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

My son is about 5'6" and tiny waist. Money is tight. Im a single mom and I was recently told I'll be laid off at the end of the year. He has an event he must go to and is required to wear a suit. What retailer would you suggest? We are close to downtown. Thanks!

Humor I hope someone is crazy enough to do an arm sleeve tattoo of this pattern
Just sitting here and waiting. It really got me thinking someone would get a tattoo of this beauty once it disappears.

Discussion Vintage tube radio repair shop recommendation.
I am looking at buying a tube radio/phone console for our bar room. If I do I would like to have it checked out and capacitors replaced if needed. I looked at a few older posts and called one but it was for vintage music equipment.

Discussion Looking for an independent tire shop in the winter park area that will remove acoustic foam from EV tires
We have a 2023 Ioniq 5 that started getting a shake in the steering wheel at 55mph+. It is noticeable. We read up on the Michelin Primacy tire issue and a lot of people are having the same issue. The acoustic foam in the tires can separate causing an imbalance in the tire. There is a warranty on the tire but Michelin is not making it easy.
Has anyone worked with a tire shop who worked with a tire shop in Orlando that can handle removing the foam and rebalancing? Preferably in the Winter Park/Orlando area.

Discussion BWW at ICON Park closed?
I saw on Google Maps and confirmed on buffalowildwings.com that the location at ICON Park is permanently closed. Does anyone know if anything has replaced it yet, or if not, what's planned on going into that location?

Discussion Choosing health insurance
Hello everyone,
My wife is a state employee, and has a Florida Blue PPO health insurance through work. She has the option to change to an Aetna HMO plan beginning in 2027. We are wondering if there are any obvious drawbacks to making the change - is it a real issue being locked to in-network providers, when we live in a place like Orlando, with hundreds of providers?
It appears her current health care providers would also be in network for the new insurance, but we will call them to verify that is still the case in 2027.
We are expecting our first child next year, and so we need some clarity in what we can expect to pay for it all. We’re considering the HMO option because it seems like if offers the most predictably, which is valuable in an otherwise scary/exciting time.
I would greatly appreciate any experience or knowledge around this that anyone could share, while we keep exploring the details of these plans. Just knowing what questions to ask next would be of great help, as we are both quite intimidated and overwhelmed by the health care system as a whole.
Thank you!

Discussion Fishing help?
I’m 36 M and I’m trying to learn how to fish finally, better late than never I guess. I never had anyone growing up to teach me and I’ve watched a fair amount of YouTube but I kinda feel like without someone else telling me what I’m doing wrong I can only go so far. I’m only bank fishing right now and I go to lake Ivanhoe most mornings for like an hour or so, longer on weekends. Except when I cast into a tree and can’t untangle my birds nest. Anyway, wondering if anyone wants to be my fishing buddy sometime. If you’re inexperienced too, hey maybe we can learn something together

Discussion Can't find any cheap Storage Units In Casselberry area that won't charge extra over time

My grandma wants me to put my personal stuff in storage, but my current unit where I keep my ebay stuff by Red Bug is charging me more every few months since last year and because my job cut my hours, I don't know what other options. I can't downsize as it's stuff I can't find anymore online and even then, hardly anybody's buying similar items on my ebay store. And I can't drive further places due to gas going up.
