Reminders Why Makkah will never be open for non-Muslim worshipping and tourism

Post image
274 Upvotes

Salam Alaikum, so two weeks ago there was another thread on guards stopping people from entering Makkah.

What struck out most to me was the arrogance of a non-Muslim commentator in suggesting they had the right to treat the haram as their tourist place.

In general it is becoming increasingly common for people to make up false accusations online about the restriction.

This post will therefore finally give all the reasons why Makkah remains off limits for non-Muslims.

I’m also hopping mods will add this post to the commonly asked FAQs so non-Muslims don’t keep bringing this topic.

1. The Quran is clear on the Restriction

“O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-Haram after this, their [final] year.” (At-Tabwa 9:28)

As is shown our commands from God are very clear, and the haram is defined via the Meeqat points. The Quran clearly prohibits non-Muslims, and this includes Christian’s and Jews as well.

There are some that will argue that the restriction doesn’t apply to the city, but they are wrong. This isn’t up for any further debate, and the idea of reforming or issuing a fatwa is irrelevant since we cannot go against the words of Allah (SWT).

The key to access the haram is the shahada, since people of the book do not confer the Kaaba to be Abrahamic.

2. Preserving room and space for pilgrims

One of the biggest misunderstandings non-Muslims seem to understand is that the haram can handle tourism just like Jerusalem and Vatican.

This is a very wrong interpretation.

The foot traffic is much more significant in Makkah, and most often hotel rooms and prayer spaces are completely filled. Sometimes the crowds will pray on the streets due to a lack of space.

For many pilgrims they will only get to see the Kaaba and city once, due to visa, health and financial reasoning.

So if tourists and non-Muslim worshippers were allowed it would get very difficult. Every hotel room would be taken over, and even the hotel Isaiah’s would be filled by people gawking.

In addition the mosque is meant only for worshipping and pilgrimage.

It would be unacceptable for tourists to block the path between Safa and Marwah, or to disrupt the prayer congregations around the mataf.

3. Preserving the sanctity

Another key issue people for some reason people ignore is that the Haram is a sanctity and holy site.

This is where millions of people come to peacefully pray and do their pilgrimage.

Yet what I have noticed is the increased amounts of misinformation and slander spreading against mosques in the west by both ex-Muslims and non-Muslims. Also more of the than not they come inside to spread fitnah.

The Haram is not going to become such a place.

We do not need the likes of Jai and Doc, Sam Shamoun, etc coming in with their puppet ex-Muslim to preach and spread misinformation.

What would happen is they would come with their cameras to record and then mistranslate the prayers. Majority of the world doesn’t consider our faith Abrahamic for some reason, so these YouTubers and Tik tokers will make it seem like Imam Dossary or the prayer congregations did something wrong.

From there on non-Muslim audiences will automatically accept whatever misinformation is coming their way. There will also be more risk as many non-Muslims tourists and worshippers will come with such mindset.

4. Prioritizing the safety of our people

This point is further inspired by point 3, a lot of non-Muslims have a neocolonial and disrespectful mentality with regard to Islamic Guidelines.

If tourists were allowed they wouldn’t respect the haram, with them purposefully doing Tik tokers dances, preaching with their bibles, etc.

Also imagine trying to pray peacefully and as your finishing your prayer, people have been reloading and staring at you for no reason.

Or imagine being a niqabi and a non-Muslim woman comes inside wearing beach wear and mocking you will you try focus on Ibadah.

There are way too many who aren’t interested in our dignity either, so there would be a high risk of non-Muslims harassing, attacking or even trying to desecrate the Kaaba.

In addition there are a lot of non-Muslim oppressors that shouldn’t be anywhere near.

Imagine being a Palestinian and coming face to face with an IDF veteran in the Haram that harmed your family.

Imagine being a Gujarati Muslim who suffered in 2002, and you notice a group of RSS leaders roaming with a priest.

Therefore it is important for Makkah to remain closed, and it is not up for further debate or negotiation.

General Discussion What to do about my social media that displays me when I strayed from God?

• Upvotes

Hi all. I’m Khadijah, and for context I recently took my Shahada at my local mosque 🥳 (oml I still can’t believe it!).

However, as I begin to start living as a Muslim, I’m left wondering what to do with my accounts that show me before I reverted. Those accounts use my old first name as their usernames, have pictures of me in outfits that aren’t modest withount hijab, drinking, etc.

What should I do about them? Purging them all I’m afraid will make me look too radical or invite too much attention, but I don’t want to remain too tethered to my old name and also having those photos publically posted feels so wrong. I’m just a bit overwhelmed haha

Perfect short dua suited to any moment when you realize you have done wrong and want to turn back to Allah. May He accept all our repentance ameen.

Seeking Support Deeply unsettling childhood dream at Fajr and its 6-year aftermath. Seeking Islamic perspective/spiritual advice.

Hi everyone,

I’m posting here because I need help understanding a dream that has haunted me for about 5 to 6 years now. I had this dream when I was 14 or 15 years old, and to be completely honest, I’ve never felt truly "fine" or the same since it happened. I am hoping to get an interpretation of this from an Islamic perspective, as the imagery feels deeply spiritual and unsettling.

Context:

At the time, my actual bedroom and the attached washroom (on the first floor) were under construction. The structure was there, but the interior was completely unfinished—just raw plaster, exposed pipes, no tiles, no taps, no toilet pot, and no doors. Because of the construction, I was sleeping alone in a guest room on the ground floor.

Growing up, I was always a very studious, curious, shy, and introverted child. I never used or cared for makeup and all

The Dream:

In the dream, I opened my eyes and found myself in the exact guest room where I was sleeping in reality. I looked toward the open bedroom door and saw a dark shadow figure standing on the corner area of the stairs (around the 5th to 7th step). It was a corner type area, so it was much darker. The shadow had no eyes, but I could feel it intensely staring right at me.

I stood up, and the shadow began moving up the stairs. I followed it. Realizing I was behind it, the shadow ran up to the first floor, straight into my unfinished bedroom and into the under-construction washroom.

Inside the dream, the washroom was altered from reality. It still had the raw plaster and exposed pipes, but it suddenly had a door, and a mirror was hanging on the wall (which didn't exist in real life).

The shadow went inside, and when I followed it, I realized it had taken my exact form—it looked just like me. I am a hijabi, and the double wasn't wearing a hijab, but her hair was braided exactly like mine. This "other me" was standing in front of the mirror, actively applying lipstick.

Suddenly, my double stopped, turned around, and stared directly at me with an incredibly intense, malicious energy. The moment we made eye contact, the washroom door violently slammed closed right in my face, and I jolted awake.

The Waking Reality:

When I woke up, it was around Fajr time. I distinctly heard noises coming from the kitchen. I assumed my mother was awake preparing for the morning, so I called out for her, but I got no response. Later that morning, I asked my parents about it. My mother told me that both she and my father had slept past Fajr that day and absolutely no one was downstairs or in the kitchen when I woke up.

The Aftermath (Why I need help):

Ever since that night, it felt like a switch flipped in my life. Over the last 5–6 years, I have struggled heavily with severe anxiety, panic attacks, and sudden terror. I experience constant religious detachment where I find it incredibly difficult to connect with my faith or pray, which breaks my heart. I also sometimes hear and see things no one else does, or constantly feel an intense, heavy presence around me. I was recently diagnosed with Quiet BPD, which explains the internal emotional storms.

Right now, I am completely exhausted. I have been to many Islamic scholars, but nothing seems to work. I am struggling with severe cognitive issues now—I can't remember things, I am unable to study, and I just cannot get myself to do anything. I feel completely stuck.

How would classical Islamic dream interpretation view these specific details (the corner staircase shadow, the missing hijab/braided hair, the mirror, and the kitchen sounds at Fajr)? Could this be related to a Qarin or a Jinn issue? For those who have navigated spiritual unease alongside heavy mental health struggles, what steps did you take for protection and healing?

Thank you for your insights, advice, and duas.

Seeking Support I want to wear hijab

• Upvotes

Hello!! Im hana and i was born into a muslim family. I have always believed in islam but during middle school and into highschool i lost my faith and i was never a consistent prayer. Recently i wanted to learn more about islam since i dont know much about it. I wanted to strengthen my faith. I pray much better now and yes i still forgot some prayers or skip them but i am much better than i have ever been. My younger sister wears the hijab, and since then all my family has been pressuring me. Im even surprised my dad told me i need to start thinking about it since im entering university soon (My mom says theyd never force me though). So my issue is that i am very insecure about my looks and whenever i try on the hijab i feel so uncomfortable. My hair is the best thing about me its whats most special and i feel like covering it means i lose a part of myself. But i really want to wear it and im always at fear that if i dont wear it ever even if i pray and try to be a good muslim i will go to hell because i am not wearing the hijab. I am an adult now and i feel so stressed because i have not worn it yet. Especially since everyone around me isnt wearing it either. Please give me advice i am really lost i feel so much guilt but it is still not strong enough to make me cover my hair.

My cat has run away, and I've been crying nonstop and feeling so distressed. I can't stop thinking about him being out there, hungry and looking for me. He's so precious to me, and I'm desperately praying that he comes home safely.

Please make dua that Allah protects him from all harm, keeps him safe, provides for him, and guides him back home to me. I just want my baby back. PLEASE

News A Child’s Pain Must Never Become Normal

Post image
127 Upvotes

Perhaps I will surprise you if I tell you that this image is real, one hundred percent, and has not been altered using artificial intelligence.

This little girl lost her mother tonight in a brutal Israeli bombardment. Yes, she watched her mother burn to death, after losing her father as well just months ago. She herself was on the verge of dying the same way, had it not been for God's protection and the brave young men who intervened.

This scene is meant to become ordinary, normal, and repetitive, despite being deeply shocking, utterly brutal, and horrific.

After repeating this scene thousands upon thousands of times, Israel wants people to stop being outraged or moved by it. It wants them to turn their faces away once, then keep scrolling past it again and again.

This crime, along with countless others, is a war against God and against His creation. Its deliberate repetition is intended to destroy the very human instinct for compassion and decency with which people are born.

May Israel be cursed, and may all those who have befriended it, normalized relations with it, or colluded in the rivers of blood and scattered body parts be cursed as well!

Relationship Advice Should i stop talking at all

Hi, so i met this boy on reddit, in the starting i thought he was a girl but he turned out to be a boy, we both started talking and both were totally against the dating and stuff, so we both were dealing with mental health issues so talking to each other was a lot of help and slowly we both started liking each other, he confessed and didnt expect anything to change and we decided to keep being friends like we used to and get married in future as we are young right now, but then somehow my mom got to know abt us and she thought it was the usual stuff so she scolded me and told me to block him, we decided on talking very less as i couldnt block him, so now we just talk less. We both are very serious abt marriage and we have talked about it a lot of times, his mom and family knows about me and they are kind of fine about it. I am muslim and need advice abt should i totally not talk to him but that sounds really hard to me as he helps me a lot with my issues and vice versa. It is already very hard for him to keep himself from not talking, he is genuinely nice and i trust him a lot. We both talk in limits and never do any bad talks.

General Discussion Charity clothing donation query

How can I donate clothes directly to poor people in 3rd world countries? Or just anyone who really needs clothes and can’t afford them.

I want to make sure they receive the clothes for free. Rather than donating to a charity shop or a clothing bin where they resell for profit.

Question about Islam Passing in friday

It was a regular day. I wasnt expecting much but i heard my father breaking down crying, he usually doesnt do this so of course i came to checked since i was concerned. Unfourently our relative my grandfather specifically had passed away, as much as i cried there was something intresting i couldnt stop laying around my mind. I know my relative had been a great muslim from my perspective, he prayed his 5 daily prayers did daily dua recited and memorized quran. I do feel aware that hes not special for being diffrent to other great muslims but generally speaking thoose were common signs i manage to notice him doing by time when saw him doing good deeds. Now the thing i couldnt stop thinking is that he died on a friday, fridays with my current knowladge is a blessed day for muslims where jummah dhur takes place. Does this mean anything?

General Discussion Be careful with the "Leave your 9-5 and build Halal Wealth" ads

Hey guys I am getting a bit concerned seeing all these ads lately from young guys and young men in beards and those long thawbs or taub or heck even shalwar kameez, telling everyone to leave the 9 to 5 and build 'halal wealth'.

Theyre just using religious buzzwords to get your trust and sell an overpriced course. Working a steady job to provide for your family is a blessing not a trap.

Take it from someone who works full time and has actually run business ventures and failed a lot of times... doing business is the hardest thing you can ever sign up for. Its non stop stress, takes serious capital and has zero guarantees, it is no way a side hustle unless you have a good amount of finances to delegate things.

Please be very careful before handing over your hard earned money or leaving a stable job for a flashy ad. Anyone else getting spammed with these?
