Hello!
My lovely Mum renovated the playroom into the most cosiest bedroom after moving back home.
I love love love what she has done.
Just wanted your opinion on this. We feel like the TV feature wall is a little off but not sure if it's the colour or the mirror. Also, any suggestions on cable management (last pic).
Ill try to take a pic of the room in daylight.

Just as we’ve completed our beloved apartment after 5 years, me and my wife have decided to move on to our next project. We had some pictures taken before the move that we thought finally do it justice. Thoughts?

Hey everyone! I’m trying to decide what color to paint this bathroom. The tiles are this light beige, slightly cool blush color. Bathtub, sink, and toilet are more beige than pink. We’ll be removing the wallpaper as I don’t think it will hold up to the steam when the bathroom is being used. Though I’m kinda stumped on color choice. I’d like to pull as much blush tone out of the tile as possible. I was thinking of using potentially mauves, greens, or maybe a rust orange?
Mauve Mist
Deep Mauve
Chippendale Rosetone
Sherwood Green
Kittery Point Green
Saybrook Sage
Salisbury Green
Audubon Russet
I’m open to other suggestions as I’m a bit stuck on a direction
Edit: I love the wallpaper. My worry about it not holding up is:
- it’s starting to peel on the seams & in corners
- this shower wasn’t used by the prior owners, they only used the upstairs bathroom and it is the only room in the house that isn’t wallpapered
- the other original wallpaper in the house is also peeling along the seams
If the wallpaper doesn’t hold up with a fan, I’d like to save pieces of the wallpaper to frame for the bathroom

I’m looking for any and all suggestions for rugs, wall color, etc for how to make this couch look right in my home. I was gifted it and I adore it, but it is a very bold pattern.
(Other info: the house is 20’s craftsman, tons of original woodwork, built-in cabinets, the like.)

Hey!
First photo is AI (obviously lol), however my room looks very similar to this (except for the weird teak floating furniture thing in the back). Does this work for the room, or would you go for a more tranditional red persian carpet? Or something else possibly?
Thanks!

Interior decorating is really not a strong suit of mine. I've lived here for six years and this arrangement is the closest I've come to making the room feel "right".
My main obstacle is the couch. I can't have it against the far wall (where the entry table is) because it's too far from the TV. Instead, I pulled up the couch to align with the window, leaving ~35sqf of space behind it. I filled the space with an entry table and a coat rack, but the space feels wasted and detached from the rest of the room.
Any ideas on how I can make this room feel more cohesive and functional? If you have any ideas on other changes I can make, those are also very welcome!

Where are you guys getting your art online? I’d really like to support real artists and not buy AI slop. I don’t have the time to go in person to art shows and stuff like that.
Posting this because I got scammed by Society9. I paid $80 for art that ended up in the ether somewhere and their customer support is a generic AI that tells you to have a nice day. So sad about it because I really thought they were a legit company.
Where do you get your art online?

Hello,
I have created a copy of my house in the sims in order to properly show you what I am working with. The issue I have is that the kitchen has a wall that the fridge lives on, and this wall makes it difficult for people sitting on the couch to be a part of the conversation in the dining area and vice versa. I am hoping there is a way for me to rearrange furniture so that people in the dining area can see and talk to people in the living area and so forth. I unfortunately cannot demo the fridge wall because we're just not there financially, but I am really hoping I can create a unified social area for people to gather and hang out and I, as the host, wouldn't have to constantly jump between two different groups of people. Also the small walk away between the dining area and living are tends to bottleneck with people trying to be a part of both groups. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the mess. I know the room looks unfinished bc i’m still in the process of collecting it. I’m aiming for a mid century inspired loft aesthetic. I have this old persian rug so I put it in the living room but I’ve got comments saying it gives a headache or it’s too busy. I thought oriental rugs worked perfectly for mid century aesthetic but guess not this one? would appreciate honest opinions

Hello. I just moved in here, I’m trying to arrange furniture using what I already have.
I initially was gonna put the TV on the brown stand in the corner and place a large art above the fireplace. Once I moved in I realized my couches are large and looked disproportionately unfit with one too close to the TV stand and the other too far away (it does not matter which couch backs the window, the outcome is the same). The area to the right of the fire place is not big enough to serve as a living room plus the dinning area is just close by and there’s foot traffic along that way as it leads to the kitchen.
How can I place the TV (I think 55”, fits the stand perfectly) if I don’t want it over the fireplace? Should I keep those 2 little chairs or just the stripped one behind? I have a family of 5 and we often have family over so we need at least 1 of those single seats and I can get rid of the rest. What can I do with the little space to the right of fire place behind the yellow chairs? I am open to changing furniture but it’s still gonna be a 3 seater and a 1 seater ( husband wants the 3 seater recliner). We cannot do any major change like getting rid of fireplace. I know people say ask AI but I am not creative enough to give AI the right prompts so I need people.
Thank you for your contribution, I appreciate.

Update: The snug is coming together now! 😊 Here are some photos of the room with the sofa and accent chair in place. The walls are colour-drenched in Muddy Puddle by Dulux, and we have whiskey oak herringbone flooring.
I went with the rust/terracotta sofa in the end, paired with a cream accent chair and floral cushions. I'd love to hear what people think of the combination now that it's all coming together!
Do you think the sofa colour works well with the walls and flooring? I'm also open to suggestions for anything else that might help pull the room together.

I really want to do something dark and striking but classic. I'm looking at rugs, curtains and lighting as well. Behind the curtains is a washer and dryer. The big dark thing is an art piece my husband made. The little desk can go away too.
Is the rug too short? Do we also paint the little hallway to the bathroom the same as the hall? Thank you for any help at all. I know it sucks currently but am willing to take suggestions to heart!

Hi all! I’m looking for some thoughts here. I’m so stuck on how to bring my reading room plan to life. The first 4 photos are of my room right now (Halloween decorations included lol) photos 5-7 are AI renderings of some rugs I’m looking at and the last picture is an inspiration picture from Pinterest (I believe it’s AI modified). I’m looking at rugs right now because I’m sick of the eyesore that is the current rug we have there (wayyyy too small, looks like we laid a sheet on the ground instead if a rug IMHO and obviously wrong colors).
I thrifted the 2 chairs I have in there now so I do want to find something that ties together the earth tones I’m going for. My husband likes the orange rug bc it’s bright and fun, I liked the other 2 better but I do love a checked pattern. I’m just not sure that fits what I’m going for here.
What I’m trying to do is make a really cozy and moody reading room. This is a smaller living room in my house that we never use but I want to make it feel so warm and inviting especially since it’s the first room you see walking in the front door. I plan to paint the rest of the room the same color of the bookcase. I’ve thought about just painting the moulding the green and painting the walls a creamy white but since this room doesn’t have a separation from the staircase & dining room I didn’t think that would flow well into the other rooms.
I’m still looking for new curtains so dw those won’t be there for the long run.
I’m open to other rug suggestions as well! I am primarily looking for Wool rugs because all the “washable” plastic rugs out rn just don’t last from my experience and just don’t look cozy enough.

We’re furnishing the home with new furniture, paint, flooring, lighting, and maybe even building a custom TV or media wall.a
We kinda know what we like (Pinterest is our best friend), but searching for products, comparing prices, finding places to buy them, and making sure everything looks good together and fits the dimensions we need is pretty overwhelming and time-consuming.
We’re just trying to figure out what an interior designer actually does that saves my time or money. I think they may have markup cost due to "designer tags", the possible markups on stuff when we buy from their recommended places, and whether the end result would really feel like us—or more like the designer’s style.
For those who have hired a designer or decorator:
I’d appreciate both positive and negative experiences. We’re open to getting some help, but we definitely want to stay involved and keep things the way we like it. We're trying to figure out what additional benefit we'd get by choosing them.

I need help with art work ideas to go on top of the wallpaper. This will be a male home office. Chair and desk would be in front of this wall. Still figuring furniture out. But theme is walnut wood, burgundy, green and cream. I don’t like text for art work, hoping for something that looks nice and brings the room together or something related to success

Hi everyone!
About a year and a half ago, we completely redid our kitchen in a 1950s style, and now we finally tackled our bathroom, which was somehow even gloomier.
We’ve always lived in rentals, so major structural changes aren’t really an option for us. That means we usually have to get a bit creative whenever we want to completely change the look of a room. Our bathroom was a particularly sad case. For some reason, our landlord apparently thought this tiny room (about 8.5 ft × 5 ft) would look its best covered almost entirely in large, dark charcoal-gray tiles. The result was a cramped little cave that I had hated for the past 13 years.
I’d always dreamed of a cheerful 1950s-style bathroom instead, so we finally decided to go for it.
Since we’d already had very good results with high-quality self-adhesive tile foils in our kitchen, I decided to use the same approach here — this time not only on the floor, but on every tiled surface in the room. The foils have held up extremely well in our kitchen: they’re waterproof, easy to clean, surprisingly durable, and removable when we eventually move out. They’re also not exactly cheap, but still far less expensive than replacing all the tiles.
In total, we spent around €1,600 and about two weeks on the whole project: painting the ceiling, applying the tile foils, repainting some furniture and accessories, and generally giving the room a complete makeover.
And no, I’m definitely not starting another project like this anytime soon - after eight days of sticking on tiles, I was literally dreaming about them at night...
But in the end, it was worth it. The result is now a bright, sunny, colorful bathroom inspired by the 1950s. And after 13 years of complaining about that dark gray cave of a room, it now genuinely makes me happy every morning :))

Have been interested in a double rod setup for sheer filtering curtains. However It seems like rods would need brackets about every 4’ or so and it’s very important that this window be able to be fully opened and unobstructed. I was hoping it would be 2 6’ ish sections but maybe that’s asking too much.
What other options do we have?
Tracked system? — yes but we also don’t want it coming down from the ceiling :(
Blinds? Super tacky….
Feels kinda weird right now and I’m motivated to upgrade because when its dark if we have lights on the condos across has a prefect view
Thank you

I have no vision and no mind’s eye, so I have a really hard time trying to figure out how to decorate my 10-year-old‘s new room. He chose the Sherwin-Williams color “interesting aqua” and I have no idea what kind of a rug or furniture would go with that. He needs some shelves, a desk, a rug and overall a put together look. Any suggestions??
