Work, Health & Housing Neurodivergent diagnosis?

• Upvotes

Is there anywhere in the hrm where I can get an assessment for a suspected neurodivergence? I keep pushing my GP for a referral and he keeps dismissing me and throwing new meds at me without an official diagnosis.

Discussion If your pumpkins were stolen in the Windsor Almond Street area..

• Upvotes

It was that older Asian lady who was trying to get into someone’s apartment a few weeks ago…

I had my baby with me so was not worth confronting her over.

I also watched her hanging onto the window of someone’s car as they tried to drive away , so to that person - I hope you’re okay!

Unconfirmed Police no longer releasing names of those charged with crimes

Some recent examples:

RCMP arrest man and woman for cocaine trafficking

Police arrest person after altercation in Lower Sackville

Man arrested after stolen property recovered from residence in North Preston

I wonder why the change of heart? Racist comments against those charged? Lives ruined especially if they end up with charges dropped or found innocent? Is this change long overdue or does the public deserve to be in the know?

Arts & Recreation Looking for an indoor space to film a music video

Hi everyone, I have a shoot this Saturday and I’m on the hunt for a public indoor space to film a music video (should take 1 hr). Does anyone have any suggestions besides the brewery market? I was thinking about the train station but not sure if I am allowed to film there. I will have a tripod, a c stand, and one light. Let me know if you have any ideas! Thank you

Discussion Recent increase in car break ins?

Has anyone else noticed an increase in car break ins lately? My parents live in the Armdale area and have had their cars broken into three times in the past month or so. Each time, everything inside has been rummaged through and thrown around so it makes a mess to clean up, but not much has actually been taken (that we have noticed). It seems like whoever is doing it is mainly looking for cash or change, since more arguably valuable items have been left behind. It’s also just such an uncomfortable feeling knowing that someone has been going through your personal belongings!

Radiate Positivity ☀️ Positive Vibes Friday

The weekend is here.

This is a weekly mega-thread for good, heartwarming or uplifting news. Ideally local but non-local is welcome too. Fun pet photos or memes, tales with happy endings, personal anecdotes that you want to share with 179k+ internet strangers, etc. We could all use more positive news and vibes in our lives right now.

This is a rules relaxed space, but we will still be monitoring for personal attacks, doxxing, and stuff that doesn't fit the theme of the thread.

At some point an agreement in writing will be required between the Nova Scotia government and the company that wants to build a data centre here, but Premier Tim Houston says that point has yet to arrive.

Work, Health & Housing Porch Pirates

Has anyone else been experiencing their packages getting snagged up at the speed of light? I swear I’ve never had a problem like this in my decade of living here. Stuff could probably be sitting out overnight with no problem. But it’s been a huge problem since last month where anything delivered with a confirmation picture by the delivery driver would just not be there within an hour. It’s getting pretty frustrating since the value of items is adding up to 300+ at this point.

Food & Dining Private Event Spaces in Bars

Hi! I’m looking to host a holiday party for a community group I run, and I wanted to see if anybody may know or work at a place where I could rent a (preferably cheapish) space where we could have a closed event but still access their bar. Bonus points if there is a pool table or something! :) any leads appreciated!

Preferably in Halifax but I’m okay with DT Dartmouth as well!

The space would need to be LGBT friendly!

TIA!
