review Broke my Glossier balm dotcom cherry today!
Why does my title sound like one of those lurid sex advice columns from those old city weekly papers? I'm dating myself with that reference, but I'm guessing, as a Geriatric Millennial, I'm in good company? I mean, the name of this product... balm dotcom... is so Millennial... I love it!
I've only tried the Mango one so far, but y'all were so right. This one is a winner! I'm an ultra nitpicky bitch. My ideal lippie feels instantly hydrating on the lips, while still leaving a cushioned, moisturized barrier; it feels emollient and rich but not greasy or sticky; it has very sheer, subtle tints; it has more satiny lit-from-within glow (instead of an ultra-wet glossy glow); and lovely, but not cloyingly sweet scents and flavors.
I feel like the Mango one, at least, absolutely nailed it. I'm so impressed with the longevity, too. I applied it three hours ago and my lips still feels so nourished and soft. My only nit, I wish the mango were flavored, not just scented, but at least the balm itself is flavorless. I wonder why they make some of them flavored and some only scented?
The ginger snap was a total blind buy without verifying the tint... I have a feeling it might end up being too dark for me, as I prefer sheer pinks, peaches, dusty roses etc.
Which other regular or limited time balm dotcom's do you think I should try based upon my preferences? I don't mind browsing Mercari and Ebay, too, so I'm open to limited time ones that aren't on the official store or at Sephora right now.
And, can I ask a sneaky non-Glossier question of those of you who love this one? If balm dotcom weren't around, which other brand's lippie would be your fav?
