Hi! I’m in Grade 11 and interested in becoming a registered dietitian. I’d love to stay in Ottawa for university, so I’m considering uOttawa’s Nutrition and Dietetics program.
I’m in French immersion and believe I could meet the admission language requirements, but English is my first language, and I’m more comfortable learning academic material in English.
I’d love to hear from current students, especially anyone who came from French immersion!
How challenging is it to study biology, chemistry, anatomy and nutrition in French?
Is scientific terminology difficult to manage if your French is stronger conversationally than academically?
Are lectures, exams and assignments all in French?
What academic support is available?
Are practical placements available in English?
Would you recommend the program to someone in my situation?

back in winter 2025 i was withdrawn from mech eng cause i had bad year. i talked to an advisor in the summer and decided i wanted to try for readmission for eng. But i took some other courses during this semester and done reflection on what i truly want to purse and shit. ive decided i want to switch programs. Anyways im just curious if an academic reset would be a viable path since the advisor mentioned it would helpful if im tryna switch faculties. I saw an email that read that labs were cancelled on my outlook email.

It was late night and I was sick, so my dumbass didn’t notice that it was a bio lab not a chem lab.

Only for me to look at stemble, 10pm on Friday and see the post-lab is still due on Saturday the first 17th.

So I looked for an announcement, and found an announcement in my bio lab that it was cancelled, but no new announcement in chem lab.

Idek what to do here

Genuinely some high schoolers  inflate there grades to get into a certain program then we they get in the program after they fail one or two courses they reliase the harsh reality. Like bro it's fault not the teacher's/TA fault.

Anyone has taken class with Gamal attalah before? I am taking micro 1 with him and I wanna know how to prepare for the midterms. Does his exams reflect the practice exercises, he said It will be a multiple choice. Any advice?

I’ve heard there possibly will be a strike from professors at uni, and my prof said that if it happens it will probably be during midterms season or the finals,does anyone know when if it’s true ?

Hi, I got all of the information I needed from this lab EXCEPT FOR THE CONCENTRATIONS OF THE REACTANTS, and most of the calculations in the post-lab require them. I genuinely have no clue where else to ask, I'm kind of screwed. Does anyone who had this lab already (the filtration one, experiment 3) have the concentration values for sodium benzoate (C_{6}H_{6}COONa) and HCl? Tysm in advance !!

Is it me or is it completely useless? I've tried to get an appointment twice now in the span of this semester. Once for the cold that we all got sick with, they referred me to a clinic off campus.

Now for my mental health and they aren't even picking up the phone though they are open until 4PM... what gives? Is their a secret to this thing? Do I gotta bring them a timmie's double-double or promise them my first born child?

I never go to the bathroom on campus, except for today. I thought to myself, may as well go to a lovely private stall in FSS.

I was then concerned when I saw that red button to lock the door, but I clicked it and waited to hear the lock. I don’t know if this has some sort of timed mechanism but someone ended up coming in (to no fault of their own). So I think we are both a bit traumatized lmao. I at least had my underwear 🤷‍♀️

The lock also said to check for the red light…but there wasn’t a light at all? Maybe they haven’t updated it yet…

Am I an idiot who does not know how to use a lock or are there actual issues with the locks in this bathroom?

I also understand that these locks are for accessibility, but man do I hate them lol.
