During my European road trip in August, I spent some time exploring Frankfurt with my camera.

What caught my attention was the contrast between the city's historic architecture, its modern skyline, and the peaceful atmosphere along the Main River.

Within a short walk, Frankfurt seemed to change its character completely. From colorful old-town streets to glass skyscrapers and quiet riverside paths.

So one of my relative reach out to me, she is looking her cousin. According to her, he wasn't really in good relation with his main family. However since he is barely contacting anyone except his only cousin, nobody really notice that he is cutting contact or missing. Nobody knows.

She was here a week ago and reported to the police. The police didn't want to take further action, since it is already too long. He doesn't register to the embassy or consulat either, the uni refuse to give information. So basically deadend. I try to help them use any connection i got, student groups especially for Indonesian. And also my friends that live around Frankfurt and so. And this is on reddit. Maybe someone here has seen him or study with him on the same major. Whatever info you have regardless how it will helps or not. Thank you.

Our cousin, Russell Koyean, a 34-year-old man, has been out of contact with his family for over a year. The last time he was in contact with his family was in August 2025.

Russell was last known to be pursuing his Master's degree in Biomedicine at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Munich, Germany.

Our family's only wish is to know that he is still alive and doing well.

The family has made every effort to find him, including contacting the German police and the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Frankfurt.

We have also contacted TUM. However, the university has been unable to provide us with any information about whether Russell is still studying there or when he last attended.

Update: i got new info. according to one of his roommates, they were not really that closed. Talked few times, he might be or might not move to Vienna after last exchange programm. It seems the police already visited them there. The roommates contacted over facebook from the original post.

Update: The police did suggested a lawyer or private investogator for this matter. Do you have any information/idea about hiw this works? Thank you.

Update: I got the last address from the chat history his cousin sent me.

I was supposed to spend tonight at the youth hostel in Bacharach, but the whole castle has been booked for a private event this weekend, even so the web site show that there is still some room. So I've been left without a place to stay. I already have accommodation sorted for Saturday, but I have nowhere to sleep tonight . I'll be arriving in Frankfurt at 7 pm. Hi! What are some unique or fun spots to visit that have live music? I’m not looking for nightclubs in the strict sense of the word. I prefer places that are small and not super crowded. I’m not into techno, house, hard rock or metal. I prefer more acoustic pop or folk music, or jazz. I know the Jazzkeller is very popular. Would that be one of your top recommendations? Or are there better alternatives out there??

Sharing this so others looking for a flat don’t fall for the same thing.

I booked Suchen+ (the paid ImmoScout24 membership for renters) in October: 3-month contract, €29.99/month. I messaged 8 landlords through it and didn’t get a single reply.

So I withdrew within the legal 14-day period (Widerruf). ImmoScout24 rejected it.

Their reason: before you contact your first exclusive listing, a pop-up appears: “Sofort Zugang zu exklusiven Anzeigen freischalten”. The same button that unlocks the listings also confirms you agree to start the contract early. According to ImmoScout24, that one click means the 3-month contract is “fully performed”, so your withdrawal right is gone.

The funny part: the same pop-up says your remaining credits unlock new listings “in the following months”. So the service clearly isn’t fully delivered.

The withdrawal form and the withdrawal email address only send automatic rejections. Live chat just repeated the rejection. Now I’m supposed to pay another €60 for the remaining two months. €90 total for nothing.

I’ve reported it to the Verbraucherzentrale.

TL;DR: If you book Suchen+ and want to keep your option to withdraw, don’t click “Exklusive Anzeigen freischalten”. Honestly, I’d just skip Suchen+ altogether.
