Politics Early Voting has started! Oct 19-31

Early voting has started for many counties and runs through October 31st.

Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for your county's early voting schedule and locations.

Vote-by-Mail Request Deadline - Oct 22

Request for a Mail-in Ballot must be made to your Supervisor of Elections before 5pm (local) on October 22nd.

https://dos.fl.gov/elections/for-voters/voting/vote-by-mail/

Election Day: November 3rd, 2026

I am already registered to vote but I have moved/changed my name since the last election. Is this deadline applicable to me?

If you made any changes of that nature, please update your registration with the link above before the deadline!

When can I vote in-person?

If you are registered to vote, you can vote during your county's early election period. By law, early voting must be held at least for 8 days.

Each county Supervisor of Elections may offer more days of early voting. Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for the additional days of early voting that may be offered in your county.

Election Day is November 3, 2026. Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for your Election Day Polling Location.

When can I request a mail-in ballot?

The deadline to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5:00 p.m. (local time) on the 10th day before the election. For this year’s election, that would be October 22. Source

Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for how to request a mail in ballot.

When should I be receiving my mail-in ballot?

Supervisors of Elections send the ballots during a 7-day window which is between 40 and 33 days before an election.

For more information about voting by mail, please visit the Florida Department of Election Vote-by-Mail page.

I registered for a mail in ballot last election, do I need request one again?

YES! Check with your county Supervisor of Elections for how to request a mail in ballot.

I am a registered Democrat/Independent/Republican. Am I allowed to vote for people on the ballot that have a different affiliation from me?

Yes, you can vote for any candidate in the General Election. Who you vote for is secret.

Do I have to vote in every races on the ballot?

You can leave a race blank if you choose to and your vote will still be counted on other races that you vote on, on your ballot. However, try your best to make an informed vote on every race on the ballot.

Where can I find more information on the candidates or amendments?

In addition to the candidate's website (which, if they have one, can be found through googling the candidate's name) Ballotpedia.org usually has some information on down ballot races and amendments as well.

The best source on local elections would be the major newspaper for your area (Tampa Bay Times, Miami Herald, Sun Sentinel, etc). They interview almost every candidate of every race that is happening in the area so you can find out the positions of every candidate on each issue. They will also talk about any local referendum or proposals relevant to your city or county.

Weather People say Florida sunshine and life is very good for your mental being!

Does anyone else feel like since living here , it’s been the opposite? I find that I don’t even step out of the house during the 4-5 brutal months . And every year this phase seems to grow a few weeks more. I find myself much less talkative and social with people as time goes on. I feel like I don’t want to go almost anywhere because of how hot it is . Was good at holding my jobs all the time till I moved here 6 years ago! I work in the heat , thing is I love outdoors so I wanna be out badly but can’t stand it . I remember being out alot all the time during winters even in the cold. For me it Also feels boring overall people say there’s so much to do but I don’t that everywhere i go It’s just flatland. Being in Florida has been interesting got a house. Property and much more, because I somehow bought before covid, yet lack connection in any meaningful way with my life & surrounding. Man I think
I should head out today Its been 43 days so far fully indoors!

…”Two Florida counties have reported seeing immigration enforcement at or near polling places open for in-person early voting hours.

In Leon County, Supervisor of Elections Mark Earley said two U.S. Customs and Border Protection vehicles were seen at the Northeast Branch Library, the busiest polling site in the county, on Monday.

And in Monroe County, Supervisor of Elections Sherri Hodies told the news media in a statement that she has launched an investigation after reports of masked federal agents conducting a stop at a polling place in Key Largo on Tuesday….”

…”Federal law prohibits armed federal agents from conducting activities in and around polling places unless force is necessary to repel armed enemies of the United States….”

I've only ever seen an owl in the wild once before in my life, so seeing this little one on our greenway was a rare treat. I think it's a screech, but I'm not positive.

AskFlorida Mangrove Property Insurance

My insurance agent just sent me a quote from Mangrove Property Insurance for our home owners insurance. IT has the same coverage as our current police but at about 1/2 the price. This seems like a too good to be true type of situation. Does anyone have any experience with this company? I know they have only been around about a year and I don't think it;s dealt with any major storms yet but I'm hoping someone might have some dealings with this company. I've tried google but there isn't much out there on the company

Advice TECO BILL

is anyone having issues with teco not sending your bill monthly? i’m starting to get super upset. i was billed on 9/29 for july-august & august-september due date 10/20. THEN 10/12 i was billed again for september-october due date is now 11/2 for the total.

i mean i find this a little ridiculous. when i called the girl seemed almost like she had no clue and was trying to blame it on “paper billing” i said well.. that makes no sense because it should still reflect on my account either way??? yall aren’t billing me monthly?

anyways just curious if anyone else had this issue or if it’s just me.

AskFlorida County job is requiring all employees notarized document stating I am a US citizen

My Florida county job is requiring all employees provide a notarized document stating I am a US citizen. This requirement was told to us last week and this week they are sending a notary to the office for sign off. Other than being told this is not a state requirement we have been given no info on why this is required. Just wondering if this is typical/new/weird.

Sorry, it's behind a paywall. I just find it interesting that they now are worried about rural communities and oppose the bill.
