I'm experiencing a very frustrating issue with a Facebook Group I founded, and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing or found a solution.
I temporarily deactivated my Facebook account. After reactivating it, I discovered that I'm still officially listed as an admin of my group, but I've completely lost access to all admin and moderation tools.
The group has over 15,500 members. It's active, people are posting every day, and I can't manage anything. Facebook even gives me the option to "Report to group admins" on posts, despite officially identifying me as an admin!
Here's what I've tried so far:
1) Submitted multiple bug reports through Facebook, with no response or resolution.
2) Contacted Meta Business Support repeatedly over several weeks.
3) Spent around five hours in one day being transferred between eight different support agents.
4) Explained countless times that this is a Facebook Group, not a Page, and that my personal account isn't restricted.
5) Eventually, a support agent confirmed that their department couldn't investigate Facebook Group permission issues and redirected me to the same bug-reporting feature I'd already tried.
Nobody has been able to escalate the issue to a technical team or provide an actual solution.
Meanwhile, I'm still publicly listed as an administrator of a large, active group that I have absolutely no ability to moderate.
Has anyone experienced this exact bug after deactivating and reactivating their Facebook account?
More importantly, has anyone successfully recovered their admin tools? How?
Any genuine advice would be greatly appreciated.
