News/Release GameHub Lite v5.1.8 (SECURITY UPDATE)

GameHub Lite v5.1.8

Security: Steam token redaction in logs

GameHub Lite 5.1.8 fixes a logging issue where Steam authentication-related values could appear in diagnostic logs. In some cases, logs could include fields such as steamToken, refreshToken, or accessToken from Steam login/launch flows.

Publicly posted logs containing these fields should be deleted or redacted.

IMPORTANT

This should go without saying but If you find any security issues, please reach out PRIVATELY. I have not checked if this issue is still present in recent GameHub versions, already ruined my one day off I was spending with my family by the person who reported this publicly and I do not plan on spending any more time on this.

Changelog

The fix adds centralized log redaction for Steam/auth token fields, Steam QR login URLs, JWT-like token strings, and launch command token arguments before logs are written. This covers the app loggers, JavaSteam logging, and the PC launch-log file writer.

This release also pins local patch builds to apktool 2.12.1

• Upvotes

Finally got Street Fighter 6 working on DroidDeck on my Odin 3. Online matchmaking works perfectly. Everything is running smoothly.

Here's what I did:

1) Open DroidDeck, go to Games from the left-side menu, and select Street Fighter 6.

2) Go to Windows Components and enable Visual C++ 2015–2019.

3) Also enable DirectX 9 (d3dx9).

4) Now go back to DroidDeck's main menu, select Desktop from the left sidebar, and tap Open Desktop.

5) Once you're in Desktop Mode, open File Manager → Home → Steam Games. Navigate to your Street Fighter 6 folder and find config.ini.

6) Open config.ini using a text editor. I used Kate, which was already installed. Find this line:

ShaderWarmingEnable=True

Change it to:

ShaderWarmingEnable=False

7) Save the file and exit Desktop Mode.

8) Head back to Play Steam → Street Fighter 6 and launch the game!

That's it. I'm happy to be able to make Street Fighter work on my android handheld. Hope this helps someone struggling to get the game running!

I know this is not the best attempt by far and I just used the parts I had laying around

I got the phone for really cheap due to camera and sim issues so it makes the effort worthwhile for me

Will add a 3d printed case and maybe another fan for exhaust. If there are any suggestions or if the project serves as inspiration for others then I'm glad.

Discussion Opinions please! 8 inch tablet for game streaming.

Post image
7 Upvotes

So here's the short story. Gamesir X5 lite controller modded to allow my Samsung Galaxy A tab. Like 10 inches I think? It's cumbersome but works nice-ish. Upgraded to the Abxylute S8 Lite now and I love the controller tons more. Feels great and the comfort is there. The right stick feels a tad low but really it's nice for what it is.

Now I need an opinion. I want an 8 inch tablet to stream with. 1080 is my preferred so it doesn't have to be high end per say. Great for streaming from my PC is a must. Under $200. I keep coming back to the newer Onn 8.1 2026 model but I'm worried it will be a waste after a year you know? I mean it's Walmart? Lol

Tips or recommendations would be great y'all! I can technically mod the S8 Lite buuuttt it's purty and I don't really want to ruin it lol.

Discussion Best Way To Play Pokémon Fan Games On Android (RPG Maker)

Hi guys I hope you're all doing well,

Apologies if this is old news for most of you but I had no idea about this until yesterday

It's really exciting to see all of the progress and the development of emulators and recompilation projects for Android.

But for many years I've always been wanting to play pokemon fan games on the go.

I know joy play has been around for a while because I was actually very quick to follow all of the guides to install joy play when it came out a few years ago on Android.

However I was never able to fully beat any of the fan games because I had several issues with joy play and several glitches as well

With the release of emulators like game native, winlator and the Game hub I was really excited and tried to play pokemon fan games through them but I would always struggle particularly with container settings and controls and unfortunately never managed to make much progress

I have just found out about the Kirin app and I have been able to open every single fan game which I've downloaded ( this is a complete surprise because several fan games would not even open on joy play or could not run easily through any of the emulated containers) and I am now a couple of hours into my run of pokemon rejuvenation.

I was really happy to be able to finally do this, and just in case there were any other pokemon fans that want to play these games on Android but have never been able to , I wanted to share this with you

P.s I have been working heavily on my videos and my thumbnails after extensive feedback from my previous videos and I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts now

Discussion Is Wii U Emulation on Android dead?

I know there is not currently an official port for CEMU on Android, but there were many attempts to port it. The lastest version I can found for CEMU on Android is 0.5 released around 6 months ago. Since then there are no updates and there seems to be no progress. This is unfortunate outcome for the emulator since it has relatively small library but still not all of them are compatable yet. I wish to see more updates to the emulator on Android that fixes comptability and supports more games.

Don’t know why post was taken down
Using retroid pocket 6 8gb and also tested on ayn Odin 2 12gb
After downloading on gamenative use known configuration then launch to sign in with rockstar games to get your cloud save then download fusion fix and mjolnir mods and install in the container for best performance works great at 720p with 8gb of ram even better at 12gb ram for 900p

Help How much difference does active cooling make for Android emulation during long gaming sessions?

A phone might run a game smoothly for the first 10–15 minutes, but performance can change once the device heats up. I'm curious how much of a difference active cooling actually makes for emulation, especially with demanding systems like Switch, PS2, and PC games through Winlator or GameHub.

For those who've tested it, did a phone cooler noticeably improve sustained FPS, reduce stuttering, or simply keep temperatures lower without changing performance much?

I'd be interested in your device model, the emulator you used, and whether you noticed a real improvement after 30–60 minutes of gameplay.

Showcase Case study on Android and HyperOS cpu boosting behavior

Thumbnail

TLDR: Phones agressively cap performance outside of benchmarks and have different scheduling behaviors across different apps.

Hi everyone! Yesterday I published an app that allows you to change the package name of any app in order to get better performance and today I decided to take a look at how HyperOS actually behaves when dealing with different apps and settings. This was tested on a Xiaomi 17T Pro on HyperOS 3. The results aren't going to be the same for every phone, but might be useful to figure out how to get the most performance even in other OSes.

The first image is using the default package name for CPU Throttling Test. HyperOS correctly recognizes it as a benchmarking app, and the CPU boosts to a whopping 4.2Ghz, leading to a power consumption of over 15w.

For the second image, I changed the package name to gibberish, this simulates the behavior HyperOS would have when using newer emulators/games that HyperOS doesn't recognize.
The CPU stays at a very conservative 1.9Ghz, keeping power at a relatively low 6w. This is unideal.

For the third image, I simply added the previous app into Gameturbo, Xiaomi's game launcher optimizer thing. I also tried enabling performance mode through settings but that had no effect. By adding the app to Gameturbo, the big core boosts to 3.2Ghz and the middle ones to 2.7Ghz. Power stays at around 10w.

In the fourth image, I decided to test how it would handle a day to day app. I choose whatsapp for this test. This version of the app is the most conservative I've tested so far. CPU throttle test had trouble loading up all the cores, as most times the CPU would refuse to stress the big cores and the load would only stay on the 4 smallest cores. After some restarts, eventually I got this result, where the clocks are just a bit lower than the unknown app test.

Now in the 5th image, I saw a bit of weird behavior. This time around, adding the Whatsapp version to Gameturbo, didn't have any effect on clocks, but turning on performance mode did, the opposite of the earlier test. It was still hard to get it to load all 8 CPU cores, but when it did, the big core got up to 2Ghz, and the middle ones 1.8Ghz. at 4.5w. this could be useful if you're trying to play a really low intensity game in an emulator, but the phone locks the clock too high even if its not needed, making power comsumption higher.

So what can we take from this?

If you want the absolute best performance, just rename the game you want to any benchmarking app. I observed that Antutu, Geekbench 6, 5 and CPU Throttling Test all offer the exact same effect.

If you want to prioritize battery life, find some low intensity social media/utility app that your system has a whitelist for and use its package name.

The best balance is indeed leaving it at default and adding it to Gameturbo or turning on performance mode. The results are different on an app to app basis, so try both to see what suits you best.

And finally, some problems I recognize from this test.

I have no way of measuring GPU Clocks/performance reliably, but keep in mind that the package name also changes them.

I have no idea why some apps ignore performance mode or Gameturbo and vice versa. I think if HyperOS thinks that it might be running a game, enabling Gameturbo seems to make a difference. But if it thinks that the app it's running is just a regular app, then performance mode seems to do the trick. Let me know what you think.

The overall theory of this should remain consistent across different phones and OSes, but the actual performance mode toggle and game optimizer on different phones needs to be studied on an individual basis. Notoriously Samsungs don't get much of a change in performance from any of these methods including package renaming.

Thats it! :)

The RP6 is a Beast Man!!

This game is absolutely impressive visually, foliage all over not a single moment that doesnt feel dense with life yet somehow runs smooth as butter getting anywhere from 80 to 120 fps. This is running Max graphics on stock emulator settings. 🔥

The Emulator used here is BannerHub Ludashi (My Goat) - Given how smooth this was I'd give a DroidDeck run a shot lemme know how it goes man.

Emulation Device is obviously the purple RP6 💜 8 gb varient. (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) Runs amazing!!

Enjoy!

Help DroidDeck still taking up MASSIVE internal space despite installing games to SD card?

Topic. I recently ditched GN for DroidDeck on the Thor because I heard it was a massive space saver, faster, and had better compatibility with games. So far for the most part thats been true, but despite installing ALL my games to external storage (1TB microSD) DroidDeck is still taking up almost 18GB on my main internal storage. GameNative did something like this too and it was why I thought switching would help. What causes this on these platforms and is there a way to fix it?
