Hello All!
So far I've expanded our "Getting Started" to include external web links for
I've really enjoyed scrolling through past posts and comments to tease out links for the Community Resources Wiki Page. This will be a living/breathing section of the wiki, featuring posts and comments that dive a little deeper into the cyanotype process by your community members. This can help provide inspiration or answers that other users may find helpful.
Thank you for stopping by.
Feel free to leave a comment down below if there's something you'd like to see added to the wiki, or any feedback you may have.
All the best.

I’ve been experimenting recently with using cyanotype on my medical images. This piece is an MRI of my brain digitally superimposed on a flower, with free motion machine embroidery and trapunto quilting to create depth.

A quite difficult photograph for this process, as the dark areas appear somehow brighter than blues. I'm working on the black layer currently, so I'm going to present it a bit later. Anyway, I like the print even now, so I'm glad to share it with you, guys!

I’ve just been trying things for a week, so very new. I’ve used fresh flora and negatives printed on transparencies so far. I’m using hot press watercolor paper.
The second print also has some red wine I added to the paper after the chemicals dried, before I exposed it. (I dried the paper again post-red wine.)

Creo que hasta ahora es mi cianotipia más personal: no tener un lugar al que llamar hogar en el mundo.

Sharing a recent animation I did on waste denim for the musician Girl in Red's recent track Blue. I basically got loads of cut offs of denim and used trousers from thrift stores, then had to cut them into pieces large and flat enough for the contact sheets.
Because of the stitching, I'd often have to trim it down so the contact sheet would lay flat on the negative, which even after doing still resulted in some loss of detail. In addition, the denim took up so much emulsion, even using a spray coating method. Roughly 10-20ml of denim per a4 print (12 frames = 1 second of animation). And then drying the pieces took forever before printing and hoping for the best! But still glad the way it turned out.
My insta is @_eddcarr_ if you are interested in seeing some BTS!
