I’ve been getting quotes for roofing and solar. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Ironhead Solar (Ironhead Roofing’s solar division).
thanks!

Hey all! I’m voting and wanted to know where Andrew Struthers sits on Trans rights. I know Maughan is an ally but was wondering if Struthers is as well. Because I would appreciate change in leadership but I also do not want to vote for someone who might not fight for or protect my rights. Thanks y’all!

Hi there! I am starting a new job at OSU on Monday and will be coming to campus on Mondays through Thursdays. I will probably move to Corvallis in the next couple of months but until then I am interesting in either joining an existing or creating a new carpool. I am in NE Portland by Laurelhurst and need to be at OSU by 9 AM those days. I will probably return around 5-6 PM most days. I have an electric car but would love to take turns with other people. Please let me know if anyone is interested!

I’m 23 and clearly incompetent to leasing and housing and I accidentally signed a lease at Yugo Corvallis apartments when they originally told me I wouldn’t be able to continue with housing on the phone because I didn’t finish paying the deposit, however they moved me in anyways legally on paper I am resident there despite the fact I don’t even live in Corvallis and was told they will continue to charge me monthly rent until my term is up and if I had to guess it will probably be about $10,000 of debt I am about to go into until the lease is up, so I guess I’m reaching out in case anyone needs a room in the Corvallis who would like to take over so I don’t have to pay for rent I’m not even there to use then you can gladly be my guest or if anyone has any other advice for a dumb adult such as myself I’ll gladly take it, I know I’m dumb. But yea just thought I’d put something out there in case to show I tried.

Last night, our bargaining team reached a tentative agreement with the City, and this morning our membership voted to approve that agreement.
There are still some technical details to iron out, but this nightmare is done. Neither side got everything they want, so that's probably a fitting place to be.

Does anyone know when and why Spruce St between 9th and Highland has become truly a skid row? I mean, I know the city doesn't actually give a shit about doing anything about the homeless problem. They let them destroy every public space imaginable and don't enforce any of the laws on public intoxication, fires, fighting, and all the other bad behavior. But to allow this congregation of junked up mobile meth labs to occupy literally the entire street is insane. Maybe if we started posting pictures of this on Corvallis Facebook pages and tourist pages and whatnot, maybe that would get the city to finally wake up and start doing something? Or AITA for remotely suggesting that our homeless citizens are anything other than the finest human beings who just don't have a house to live in?

I'm curious if anyone remembers. They were super big band in oregon for the local scene. They would play with bands like Floater and Henrys child. Like those bands they had that 90s alternative/grunge but with also a lot more punk influences in there. Anybody remember?

Anyone else familiar with or use the bluechew tablets? I got the bluechew gold and it’s not really doing it for me. Looking for some feedback

I think it’s interesting that we have a PAC promoting the passage of this measure. Where did they get their money and why would this be something to fund?
There are some reasonable things in the measure, but as a whole it will weaken your powers as a citizen. I am an expert on corporate governance and can tell you that all of the research shows that staggered elections are a way to entrench power (do a quick Google search for yourself). They do not lead to good governance. Instead the power of the mayor and city manager will only increase. If the city council does stupid things it will be harder to vote out the old guard (you’ll need two sets of elections instead of one!).
The fact that there is a well-funded campaign in support of this measure suggests that there are some who have a financial incentive for the measure to pass. This begs the question, who are they and what do they stand to gain?

Is there anywhere locally that recycles PLA filament? I have scrap, failed prints, supports, that I've just been collecting and my small box is overflowing.

I have two 90’s/2000s mtb frames. I’m looking to build town bikes, one for my daughter, one for me. I have neither time nor tools nor interest in starting this project, shopping for parts, etc., and I’m skeptical conventional bike shops here in town would be at all interested in this work. But one thing I do have is money.
Any bike mechanics out there who do these types of builds?

We have the Monday Rage Thread where we rant about things that displease us and it was suggested that we also do the opposite. So here we are.
What is something good that happened to you this week?
What is something wonderful about Corvallis (and the greater Corvallis area)?

I've been following this union contract fight for a little while and even went out for an hour on the line.
What I heard really surprised me. Essentially: the city manager hired a union busting firm, the same one who's negotiating forced the county to strike here, and caused another strike in Portland.
That firm told the council they couldn't talk to the union, suggesting that it was against the law...which is an out right lie BTW.
Then with the political leadership of the town locked out of oversight, they simply stopped bargaining in July. And then ran the clock down forcing the union into a strike, the same way they did in other places.
What I heard on the line was a pretty narrow disagreement on overall money. But a big cost shift onto the workers on Healthcare. So this seems very settlable...if the Council wanted to do it.
Instead on Monday the Council votes Shepard a raise...
This is not how Corvallis should function. Our town is better than this.
