Control Resonant FBC after the story be like Spoiler
r/controlgame • u/DrWolfgang999 • 6h ago
Control Resonant I've been playing on a base PS5, and the game has had micro stutters since day one. However, since the latest update, the performance has gotten so bad that it's basically unplayable.
I put the game aside for two weeks, hoping things would improve, but it's actually gotten even worse. At this point, I can't finish the game because of the constant stuttering.
Is there any way to request a refund through PlayStation? Their website says refunds are only available within 14 days of purchase, but this is a performance issue that has gotten significantly worse after an update.
Has anyone managed to get a refund in a similar situation?

Control Resonant HOLY PEAK YALLā¦thoughts after 15 hrs Spoiler
Wow this is already unseating Dawnwalker and MS2 as my GOTY
Every where I go in this game Iām in awe at what they accomplished artistically, the world is just too good
The combat is insanely satisfying and just difficult enough.
This game feels like a melee version of Returnal/Saros ?!
The Dancer has been my favorite boss so far but the four Iāve fought so far have all been rly cool, just go through the Mold boss and that was a wild design too
I also want to clarify that unlocking all the weapons/abilities and passives all are apart of your build and not just for when youāre using each specific weapon right? Which is why the aberrant strength goes up each time right?
Im already at aberrant strength level 100 and my damage seem rly good and I havnt need assist mode yet, howās everyone feeling about that game overall?

Discussion For those who played Quantum Break, is Artemis a sort off spiritual predecesor to Polaris?
In Quantum Break near the end we find this massive whiteboard with notes and plans the main antagonist Paul Serene did throughout the years. He mentions that at some point he started seeing visions from an entity called Artemis and that it showed him the end of his world.
Maybe they reused this idea into Polaris when they were making Control?

Control Resonant Iām so happy my mug came in!
Normally I donāt buy game merch but I really needed that mug! Also had to get the mints. They uh, sadly got a little pulverized in transit but the box smelled good, so thatās something.

Discussion Jesseās convinced youāre a good person Spoiler
So please donāt spoil me on Control Resonant (literally just started - just met Pope for the first time).
But there was an option to āapologizeā as Dylan for any people he may have killed.
And Iām trying to rack my brainā¦why would anyone be mad at him in the first place? I canāt remember much of the first games - itās been a while - but likeā¦dude was kidnapped as a kid and experimented on. Was there actually something he did that was awful? Iām not saying killing is exactly justifiable, but like he was kidnapped and experimented on - seems like a lot of people had it coming. Unless Iām forgetting something about the first game???

Question Will these come back?
I sure hope so. I missed them because for some great reason they decided to advertise the dumb twitch badges first in the drop list so I didn't even notice these.

Control Resonant But for real what do I even play now.
I have never felt compelled to post on reddit about a video game but here we are. This game was like walking through a threshold you cannot step back through. I cannot bring myself to play anything else. There are so many unanswered questions and despite beating the game three times now. I feel like there has to be more to find. What happened with the Taxi? Are we sure all the TVs and Radios don't do anything? Why can I not find the one health upgrade resource despite having done everything?
IDK what the point of this post was beyond saying hats off to Remedy for making this wonderful game.
Also, for the love of god announce DLC or something so I can give you more money!

Control Resonant Is this live action footage of Dylan found in NG+? Or is it unused? Spoiler
Spoilers below!
After finishing my play through a week and a half ago, I've gone back and watched all the Dev Diaries finally. When I got to the Meet the Cast one though, I noticed they showed these pieces of footage of Sean dressed up in the P6 outfit stressed and bloodied, but know that the only live action footage of Dylan in the game is very briefly in the first Fault when Jesse and him merge, as well as some parts of him screaming with a Hiss overlay throughout, and right after executing the final boss when he briefly appears patterned, though it doesn't really resemble this even when you focus on images within the duplications?
I also know they did a TikTok video with Sean and Courtney where Sean is dressed like this (it's even briefly shown in the Dev Diary), but I don't think that's related at all.
I don't plan on doing a NG+ run, so I'm curious for those that have if they've seen anything resembling this footage in it? And if not, do we think it was scrapped or part of some additional content down the line?

Control Resonant The Gap Spoiler
Could it be safe to assume(within the tinfoil town Iāve made for myself) that with the evidence of the nature of the siblings from CR. That the gap is a literal empty hole in Dylanās mind. A missing piece, could that be why it is a blank canvas at the start. I went down this rabbit hole after looking at the inverted man charm Dylan has on his poncho and lead me to the conclusion Jesse and Dylan represent the two halveās of a whole mind. Jesse being the logical left side and Dylan the creative right side.
Could also explain how Polaris and the Hiss could easily set up shop in their minds, it filled the void, Polaris being a structured repeating pattern, The Hiss abstract flowing like ink in water.
Thoughts?

Control Resonant Rambling theory: itās not a nail, itās a nail Spoiler
gallerySo this is a bit of a wild theory but bear with me. Also this theory goes along with the Board Invasion theory others on this sub have gone more in depth with as well as Jessie Dylan Faden. Spoilers ahead for control resonant, minor spoilers for Alan Wake 2.
Also we get pretty conspiracy theory here so eat some mold, praise Fred and strap in.
So in resonant in the ordinary sequence we get a good (if pixelated) look at the hand and it really struck me that these look remarkably similar to the Nail in the foundation and it led me down this theory.
Hereās the theory, the five pillars we see in Slidescape 36 are actually five nails like the one in the foundation and tether the board to a dimension.
So right off the bat letās address the obvious, the nail in the foundation has a triangle chunk missing from it while the pillars in the hand donāt. I believe that this is because the board is not fully in our dimension yet, they can only communicate with people through the hotline and thus their black pyramid is not fully in our dimension, meaning it canāt fuse with the nail to become complete. This is why the nail like structure in the Gap does not have the missing triangle chunk or a black pyramid anywhere, both the board and the fragment of the nail are in the gap so they combine to make a cohesive pillar
With that out of the way letās get into the meat and potatoes of the theory. When people talk about the nail it is most often compared to the tool the nail used to bind things together, but I think this is not the true understanding, because what else can nail mean? Thatās right, finger nails. And what are fingernails used for? Digging into things and grabbing on to them. My biggest evidence for this is that the slidescape called āThe Handā has five of these nails, just like how a hand has five fingernails. My theory is that if the board is fully in a dimension and has multiple nails set up their they can burrow into the dimension and do whatever nefarious things they want to do.
This has some very interesting repercussions for Dylan considering that he now has a fully assembled nail inside his head/the gap.
Now for this next part per FBC regulations please don your black rock foil hats as we are going from theory to speculation. What if slidescape 36 is not another dimension, itās the future.
What if slidescape 36 is a future where the Fadens fail to stop the board and what we are seeing is Earth. This would line up with Pope saying that Slidescape 36 might be the remains of a world where Hedrons and the Hiss fought, just like they are doing on our world. To get even crazier, what if the Hiss and Polaris/Hedronās in general are not just entities, they are what Dylan and Jessie respectively come in this destroyed future.
This would explain how both entities seem to say things about the future and how Polaris can guide Jessie to exactly where she needs to be exactly when she needs to be there.
It also explains how Jessie is able to channel Polaris through her and how Dylan is able to control the Hiss. Furthermore, when Pope scans the Hedron and sees something that could be Jessie, itās because the Hedron is a future Jessie.
Next, from a story point, I could see Control 3ās final scene where you gain ultimate power and cut down the enemies like butter (see the endings of Control 1 and Resonant) could be Jessie and Dylan not only fusing in the present but the versions of them that are the hiss and Hedron fusing as well to give them a crazy strong power that is a fusion of Polaris and hiss.
Finally, this would line up very well with Alan Wake 2ās itās not a loop, itās a spiral. Maybe the original loop had Jessie Dylan Faden not be split and that one person was not strong enough to stop the Board, leading to earth being devastated and becoming Slidescape 36. What makes the loop we play in the game different is that Jessie Dylan Faden have split, allowing them to get different life perspectives and different interactions with the paranatural that when fused back will make them super dangerous to the board, hence why the board doesnāt want them fused
Man I started this post with just the idea for the first couple paragraphs and then the crazy part just kinda flowed out of me. What are your thoughts?
