Mold! HELP!

• Upvotes

I have discovered the beginning of mold in my humidor. Stemming around the gel bead style humidity packs. It has gotten on the two cigars that dont have a cellophane wrapper on them (fine coating on outer wrapper). And is on the wood of the shelf.

My main concern dealing with this for the first time is how to clean the treat the cigars. I have about 15 in their cellophane wrapper still. Rubbing alcohol to clean wrapper? What are the odds it has penetrated to the cigar since the wrappers are not totally airtight?

Thanks all!

I smoked this nice stick yesterday. It was a total delicacy. Not too sweet but there was a subtle chocolate taste from start till the nub. No harshness/bitterness until the final inch. I truly enjoyed this cigar.

Sampler/bundle worthy: Definitely

Box worthy: Maybe, why not.

Thanks Trinidad.

Moved from a proper house, across the country, into my first time having to deal with an apartmenr and not having my own corner to enjoy one. It might not be my cozy old patio, but for my first time out here? Been working 6 a week for almost 2 months. Had hell happen, lost good people. Finally got a surprise day off, and thus night I can let myself STOP for a minute. A cool night, a nice heat with every new puff… things can still be good.

What are some of y’alls “This cigar reminded me of good things” stories?

In China, Humidor is cheap, but cigars are taxed.

I’m new to cigar world and Reddit community.

I found that Cigars in China are taxed 50%, and this tax are toward to military spending , so in China the more cigars you smoke, the more patriotic you are😂.

I will share some Chinese brands in the future. ✌️

DE Tunneling H99

Picked up a DE H99 tonight. Wrapper looked nice. Started off good. Then tunneling and uneven burn. I stopped smoking Liga 9s and T52s because they are inconsistent. Padrón is never inconsistent and is why I choose to smoke them all of the time. Frustrating spending >$15 on a stick and this happens. Nothing worse than taking a couple of puffs and there’s little smoke output because of tunneling.

It’s not a problem … yet

So I wanted to get some opinions on how many cigars is too many. Right now, I’ve been smoking a cigar a day for the past two weeks. I’m tempted to try two in a day but that’s a slippery slope I’m not sure I have the footing for yet.

Any thoughts? I am incredibly excited about cigars but I don’t want to overdo it out the gate. I’ve only been learning about and smoking cigars for about a month and a half.

Follow up - how many cigars do you smoke a day?

I figured I’ll rotate and organize tonight. It’s also a good time to keep an eye out for mold or beetles.

My Father Great stick. Not overwhelming, no off flavors and smooth throughout. It’s box worthy in my opinion. What do you think?

Hey all! Posted a while back about how I’m rolling cigars for a family member for Christmas and just wanted to share my progress and get some thoughts from the experts. I’ve been really trying to dial in getting the head of the torpedo tight and smooth. Any thoughts?

Meerapfel Behind the Scenes II (6 × 50) — 88/100 Review

October 19, 2026

The Meerapfel Behind the Scenes II earned an 88/100 from me. The wrapper, binder, and filler are undisclosed, but I suspect there’s some Connecticut tobacco hiding somewhere in those layers. Cedar was present from start to finish, accompanied by caffè mocha topped with cream—of course—along with nuts and mild pepper. It was a pleasant combination, but the final third let it down as the cigar became hot and tarry, taking away from the enjoyment of the earlier flavors. An agreeable start, but a disappointing finish that held back the rating.

LFD is amazing

I have tried 6 of their offerings so far and enjoyed them all intensely, the Ligero, Suave, and Colorado Oscuro being my favorites. Trying new things is what makes cigars so much fun, I enjoy bourbon so a smoke that is hearty enough to stand up to a high proof spirit usually is the expirience I go for. Recommendations welcome. Cheers!

Great cigar! Depth of flavour, leather and pepper that’s not overpowering and a brown sugar/caramel sweetness. Creamy smoke texture. Absolute treat!

Undercrown 10th Gordo

This was a bold purchase. Not normally and Undercrown or even a Gordo guy. I stick to perfecto or toros, but I have to say this one might have converted me. Super smooth and creamy. The San Andreas wrapper with the Nicaraguan filler is in my opinion one of the best combos out there. Slow draws with a pour of Remy 1738 is an absolute gem of a pairing for a Monday evening.
