Bose Quietcomfort Ultra 1st Gen Earbuds

I have Bose Gen 2, Bose speaker. Bose was like a close friend to me.

This QC Ultra 1st Gen pair was bought a year ago and is out of warranty. I barely use this like 4/5 times in a month, the earbuds is still in mint condition. Suddenly the right earbud is not working. When I place the right earbud in the case it gives solid amber, which means the earbud connects to the case. I tried resetting, disconnecting every possible way but the right side is not working anymore. It's dead. This is so pathetic for 200$ earbuds. Now it's time to move on and find something new. It was a good journey with Bose overall. Thank you Bose!

Headphones Why are Gen 1 of QC the same price as Gen 2?

I am contemplating getting a pair of the Quiet Comfort headphones but I don’t understand why they are both the same price! Like what is the difference between both? Should I just get Gen 2? Both are at $359 btw

In-Ear QC Ultra right earbud died 2 months in. Right in the middle of a run. Common issue or lemon?

Bought these at Costco primarily for running. Right earbud completely quit on me after just two months. Nothing ruins a long run faster than a dead earbud halfway through—such a pain in the ass.

I'm heading back to Costco to return them (hoping they take them without the box!), but now I'm debating what to get next.

For the Bose heads out there: is this sudden death a known issue with the Ultras, or did I just get handed a total lemon? If it's a common thing on these, I don't want to roll the dice on another pair. Anyone else deal with this?

Thanks !

Run happy!

Software bose app on mac

• Upvotes

hi, so i am trying to build up an app which changes listening modes, allows you to tune your bose headphones/earphones via macbook itself without touching the mobile app.

I am looking for people who have different bose headphones to test it out - bose qc ultra, qc 35, qc 45, or pretty much if there is any bose headphones you got + a macbook, please let me know!

In-Ear Bose QC ultra 2 left earbud problems

Ive had the Bose QC ultra 2 and the left earbud started to make a popping sound and the audio just stopped working so I reset it and it made audio again but now of has a random popping sound and the audio seems decreased. I tried cleaning it out but it didn’t make a difference at all and it’s only in the left earbud. Is there a way to fix it or do I have to get a new one?

Wearables / Open Gen 1 QC45 vs QC Ultra Gen 1 sound quality. Does Ultra have better bass?

Kinda bored of my QC gen 1s. They’re great but I’d love to feel the bass a bit more and better quality. Do the Ultra’s actually sound better?

Wearables / Open One earbud drops to 0 while the other is at 60% – just me?

Hello, apologies if this a recurring question but I’ve had a little search for similar and I can’t seem to spot my issue.

I’m on my second pair of open ear Bose after returning the first under warranty and having them replaced for the same issue.

Essentially both buds recharge after being in the case and are back up to 100% for a number of wears, then as they drain over the next few days, one bud will be on about 60% and the other will be completely drained.

Is this a known issue or am I unlucky to have it happen twice? I suppose I’ll hang on to these this time as the charging case is new to me and that makes them last long enough so I’ll live with 60% being as good as dead and charge them earlier.

Headphones Brand new QC Ultras (gen 2): Left slider friction & creaky headband out of the box — is this bad QC or standard?

Hey everyone,

Picked up a pair of QC Ultras directly from the official website (boseindia.com) about a week ago, and after using them for a few days, two mechanical quirks are driving me nuts:

Left slider resistance: The right slider is butter smooth, but the left one has noticeable friction and resistance when extending/retracting. It almost feels like the internal tension clip or track is misaligned or gritty.

Headband creaking: Whenever I flex the headband to put them on or take them off, there’s an audible plastic creak/pop coming from the bridge assembly.

For a flagship pair of headphones at this price point, the build tolerances feel surprisingly cheap compared to older QC models.

Steps I’ve taken so far:

Kept all original packaging, cables, and docs intact.

Because it’s the weekend and phone lines are shut, I sent a formal replacement/DOA request email today to official support

Planning to call their support line first thing tomorrow morning to push for an RMA / brand-new replacement unit.

Questions for the sub:

Has anyone else dealt with this specific slider stiffness or headband creak? Did it ever "break in" or loosen up with regular use, or did you have to swap it?

If you went through an RMA/replacement, did your replacement unit actually arrive completely silent and smooth, or is this just the Ultra QC lottery?

Also, if anyone here has recent experience with Bose India / Servify replacement turnaround times, how long did the swap usually take?

Appreciate any insight before I talk to customer service tomorrow!
