Sleepy Void Meet Pudding!
After lurking on this subreddit for a long time I am proud to show off our recently adopted void called Pudding. He was previously on the street after his old owners moved away and left him behind, but I think he is finding the cosy home life much more to his liking!!

Video π€ INTRUDER ALERT!
We started getting out our handful of Halloween decorations the other day, and our void started freaking out over this cheap little supermarket tinsel cat that she has definitely seen before. Two days later and she still catches sight of it sometimes and gets suss on it. Despite the fact that it lives on top of the dryer for the rest of the year.

π€ Welcomed this girl back in June!
I adopted this lil gal back in June. She came from a household with multiple pets and was surrendered because she got pregnant. Her babies were all adopted, but she spent 4 months between the shelter and foster care before she came home with me. Her name is Wednesday and she's the sweetest. I just had to show her off!

π€ Just got her the other day. She's still nervous in the new environment and hasn't finished a meal by herself, but she'll eat when I'm giving her attention π₯Ή
This is Mia. She has hole up in the bathroom behind the toilet. She'll peek out of the door when I come in there and keep her company for a while, but when I leave she scurries back to her safe space. I'm sure she'll get used to it time πββ¬

π€ My black cat chose me and I couldn't be happier π₯Ή
I've been really hesitant in interacting with cats for most of my life; when I was younger a cat scratched through my hand pretty deeply (in hindsight she was probably a hypersensitive cat and I was just the trigger in that moment). The experience just left me very cautious and even though I still thought cats were cool, I was pretty dog obsessed.
About 25 years later, it was only when I went with my sister to the shelter for her kitten that I genuinely began looking into what getting a kitten/caring for a cat would look like.
After a month of obsessive research - I decided to go for it. I had a specific kitten in mind since my first visit AND she was STILL there. It must've been meant to be, right?
...nope.
The kitten I went to see was still a little too people shy for a household like mine (completely understandable).
I figured maybe the universe was telling me I needed to take more time - there were so few cats available that day and I really didn't want to force a connection since having a cat is not something I take lightly.
Just as I was contemplating calling my cab and leaving (heading straight back into my cat research cave) I caught sight of a kennel with two little black kittens. They had just come into the shelter about three days prior and right as I approached...
This one kitten was immediately all up in my space π―
Intense eye contact, when I spoke to her she was super attentive. Any time I tried to look at the other kitten she would literally walk right in front and block her path lol and when they finally opened the door to her kennel so we could see if she and I were a good fit -- her purr motor was immediately running.
She had me wrapped around her little finger immediately.
Since then, it's been about a month and a half -- so many things about having her just feel so meant to be and it still feels so surreal to have so much love in my heart for this little girl.
Her birthday is literally the day after my soul dog's and I adopted her on the birthday of my childhood dog as well.
Last night she stayed in the bed with me for our full sleep. It's never happened before (she's usually climbing all over me or in her little cat tower bed) -- I don't even anticipate it happening again -- but it really hit me that our bond may be more mutual than I think.
She's very independent, but loves to be in the business. She almost never meows but does little chirps all of the time. She isn't a very cuddly cat at all, but never shies away from being around me.
It may sound silly, but I feel like we needed each other and maybe on some level I was right for her just like I know she's right for me.
Anyway, I could spend all day rambling about this little girl but for now I'll just say again that I'm so grateful she's in my life β€οΈ
Oh, and before I forget lol, her name is Nova π₯Ή

I was out today to run a few errands and when I get back he is patiently waiting for me in bed.
We have gotten into a routine of mid day naps and we love it! He gets all comfy and purrs non stop :)
