genuinely. my family has always had cats, but while they were taken care of and loved, they were largely means of pest control. i've had my couch lumps for about a year now and i still can't believe these things just. live with me. trust me.
I say that to my husband all the time. It’s so crazy that we have this little creature that lives with us all the time and just totally trusts that we will fulfill her every need while she snoozes on the couch or in her fav cardboard box. 🥹
i love seeing these adjectives, she bites my elbows in the mornings when i'm late for breakfast and i get annoyed, but this is a predator that has decided i'm to be trusted ❤️
aww thank you for saying so, she has a personality to match ❤️ (we pay in other ways - namely the vet bills for her asthma, but i would genuinely kill for this cat and i've barely had her for a year)
sadly, i was also using the sunlight to embroider. i was NOT allowed to keep the floss to myself. she felt i was using strands too long and took upon herself to rectify the situation.
aw, when we adopted her we were told she was basically unadoptable because she was a shy black cat 🥲 it annoys me so much when people assign a cat's character based on their colour! (and sex, if i'm honest...all these girl/boy cat people 😡😡)
but anyway, if you get the opportunity to adopt a a void, pleaso do so if you can!
I agree that cats (like humans) can get labels too quickly. I adopted a tuxedo cat that was returned twice before she found her forever home with us.
She was traumatized and wouldn’t come out of her carrier, so nobody wanted an “avoidant/scared” animal for a pet.
Just like most of us, with love, care, and time, my tuxedo has proven to be the best, most loving companion.
She even gets along well with her Russian blue housemate.
So, yes. It’s time and patience.
At some point, I am looking for a void to join the geriatric girls. They have been with us for about a decade.
i think people too much think cats are like dogs. with most dogs, you can find the breeds. (because people have given a lot of energy to breed dogs for different purposes). cats are cats. i think they also project their own insecurities on them. that's a small beast that will trust you. deserve that trust.
well her name is heather, but i call her henry because she usually tries to behead me every morning 😅(that's not why, it's because pet owner's are unable to call their beast's by their name's 😅😅)
she's genuinely the sweetest cat, and i've had some very sweet cats ❤️ our shelter recommended us because we've had a shy single mother before and now she sleeps on my face 😅🙄😁❤️
Yea if I was in that situation I'd let the cat enjoy it for a while like that looking all cute and I'd really appreciate it too. And then I would viciously attack and maul them with kisses next, as they deserve.
