Happy Bigender Noises Been 3 years since I discovered the bigender label and this reddit

I suddenly realized its been about 3 years since I found this word that helped me get through such a tough time of self-discovery and bargaining against my better judgment of my lived experience.

I've since come to describe myself as genderflux/transfem/genderblender, but I still rep the bigender tag and claim demiboy and woman as my two genders. I recently got to have the honor to receive a bigender flag bead star at an event, and then promptly hand it off to the only other bigender person I met there <3

I sometimes quite love living in my body these days, even though I still experience the bigender frustration of not being able to just have two bodies lol

i realized im bigender around two months ago and its just cool what a great impact it has to just know that, i mean besides name and pronouns i dont really change anything but still im so happy right now that i cant understand how i could even be remotely content with my life before. from my perspective now it feels like i have always only watched my life playing by as a bystander, it felt so surreal, but now i feel like its really me.

Can you be Bigender even if you feel more like a boy than a girl?

So I’ve just recently realised that I’m bigender but I do feel more masculine than feminine so about maybe 70% masculine and 30% feminine and I don’t really know if that counts as Bigender or something else like genderfluid or something like that.. I’m really confused so I’d appreciate if someone could tell me if that still counts as bigender or not c:

Culture We need more bigender characters/stories

• Upvotes

I genuine can't name any open bigender characters (that I am familiar with) or stories with intentional bigender allegories in them.

This pisses me off because I feel like there is an entire world of untapped potential in bigender stories and themes that could be explored. I feel like there is so much to say about the bigender experience than most people have never even thought about.

Yes I have looked up a list of bigender characters but it was mostly just charters from random books I have never heard of. (No shade to people who like these books but there not exactly very well known.)

TLDR: we need our own version of Bridget Guilty Gear or [insert popular trans character here] and I can't stop thinking about it.

Sorry if this comes off as a rant, I'm writing this at 12 AM because I can't sleep.

General Struggling

I’m really struggling to accept that I’m likely bigender. Partly because my gender journey also coincided with some extremely tough circumstances. It’s hard not to be skeptical or wonder if I’m having mental issues. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, either. It’s just frustrating because I don’t know what to take seriously and how far to take things.

I will feel pretty squarely “male”. And come to accept that part of me. But then today, felt a bit dysphoric and needed to be more femme/ female. (Also hard to know the difference between liking my own feminine energy and actually feeling aligned as afab)

Anyway, the part that gets to me is I can understand being trans mtf ftm or nonbinary etc. I struggle to accept being fluid or having two very active and pronounced parts of myself. Because I sincerely wonder what the difference is between that and DID? Though, my gender feelings are all me. They feel cohesive. I dont dissociate to the degree of amnesia. But I also have pretty severe PTSD from recent life things and started spending a lot of time ideating on gender, almost as an escape from my life. Though, the feelings have been there for forever I just didn’t have a way to make sense of them.

I’m not asking for anyone to diagnose me or not. I am pretty positive I am bigender/trans/nonbinary to some extent. I just so happen to also have PTSD. I’ve had the gender feelings before the trauma.

Anyway…the question is… How do you all cope with this? I really really wish I could just be a binary trans man or find a way to be comfortable being cis but I’m not sure that’ll ever happen. Nor do I want to have so much internalized transphobia <\3 help :(

Questioning Identity crisis

I've identified as bigender for a bit now but idk what my second gender is.. I'm a man I know that much but the other side of me is binary, but not a women. Idk if there is a term for this or if I should make one but.

I feel genderless, yet loosely masculine. I have connection to femininity but not enough to consider myself a girl, and the idea of being a girl is repulsive to me (due to being my agab). Any help is greatly appreciated...

Turns out I'm a man and demifeminine!
