I F(24)am extremely stressed and unable to function, I have finished my master's thesis, but do not have the results until the end of November. My D1 student visa expires on the 15th of December, I don't have financial backing from my family anymore. I haven't had the money to enroll for German classes and get certified and I am stuck at A2 German. I was an intern by a company, that had to let me go because of their funding getting cut. This really backfired because I had childish faith that this company, as was informed by my boss will translate into a full time job but they can't even sustain me anymore as a part-time employee.

I have plans to live with my boyfriend from December, and it's important to me to find some sort of remote, hybrid work to finance me for the visa extension or find work within a 2 hour travel radius from Berlin, perwenitz or wustrau. I haven't really been in the job market long enough nor in the country long enough to figure this out. I feel extremely overwhelmed at times , have very high anxiety and find myself becoming really vulnerable when I try to think about it straight. I can't sleep or rest or figure out solutions. I'm reaching out for mostly help, guidance and I am in a vulnerable state of mind, I request that you're kind to my condition.

I am aware I have an unhealthy attachment to the thought of finally being able to live with my partner and this ties me down but I am unable to think outside of this. I am open to all kinds of work, when it comes to part-time jobs or full time jobs, as long as they're in Berlin or nearby. The rejections are realistic in numbers but ache terribly right now. I understand German more than I can speak confidently, but I don't know how to find employment fast so I can complete the legal process of extension as fast as possible.

I visited for the first time in 15 years and everything felt small and not overwhelming and kind of familiar and a bit like home?

Compared to munich or other big european cities berlin feels almost cute despite being one of the biggest cities. It was also a lot less dirty than I expected( but still far from clean) and almost frozen in time? So many corners feel stuck in the 90s. The subway felt like its own little universe and I spent hours there. I was also surprised how small the subway stations are but it makes sense since many are over a hundred years old.

I wanted to print this out an put it up on the street lamp where the crash happened but it'd apparently be considered illegal littering. So I am turning here to ask whether anyone was around the area that morning and saw anything unusual.

In summary:

A driver was injured and taken to hospital when he stopped at the traffic light at an intersection on Kreuzbergbergstr. A car coming from the opposite direction switched lanes and drove right into him from the front, ignoring their own red light. It was a hit and run - a man and a woman fled on foot from the car down Grossbeerenstr towards Yorckstr.

I wish there were more information about why they are asking about eye witnesses. To know whether the car was stolen or whether they already have suspects that are denying their involvement.

Either way. I hope the man has a good recovery and those people are held responsible for their actions.

ich bin leider diese woche auf einen (scheinbar sehr gängingen) trickbetrug hereingefallen. ein brite tut so als ob seine karte nicht funktionieren würde und drängt einen dann dazu ihm bargeld zu geben, er schickt dann auf einer FAKE bank app euch vorher das geld. ich hatte garnicht gewusst wie ausgeklügelt solche scams sind. ich will drauf aufmerksam machen, weil die masche so gängig ist und hoffe andere sind nicht so naiv wie ich.

Hab mir die Berliner Einigung zur Vergesellschaftung mal durchgerechnet. 160.000 Wohnungen, bis zu 16 Mrd € Entschädigung. Macht maximal 100.000 Euronen pro Wohnung. ¡Quick Math!

Bei angenommenen 60 qm und 8,50 €/qm Kaltmiete kommen jährlich 979 Mio € rein. Ziehen wir 2% Mietausfall und monatlich 3,60 €/qm für Verwaltung, Instandhaltung und Modernisierung ab, bleiben rund 545 Mio €.

Allein 4% Zinsen auf 16 Mrd € wären aber 640 Mio € jährlich. Ohne Tilgung. Selbst bei 100 Jahren Laufzeit fehlen anfangs rund 108 Mio € pro Jahr. Bei 5% wären es schon 261 Mio €. 😭

Klar, bei 12 statt 16 Mrd € könnte die Rechnung mit 4% sogar knapp aufgehen (Spottpreis). Aber genau deshalb frage ich mich, wie man sich auf sowas einigen kann, ohne vorher die Finanzierung geklärt zu haben

Und nein, Eigenkapital vom Land löst das Problem nicht einfach auf. Entweder Berlin verschuldet sich dafür selbst oder bindet Milliarden, die dann anderswo fehlen.

Was mich aber 4real am meisten irritiert: Wir reden über bis zu 16 Milliarden Euro, ohne eine einzige zusätzliche Wohnung zu schaffen. Klar können Bestandsmieter profitieren. Aber die Wohnungsknappheit bleibt. Und günstige Mieten ändern erstmal nichts daran, dass sich weiterhin viel zu viele Menschen um viel zu wenige Wohnungen bewerben. . .

Berlin muss gleichzeitig seinen Haushalt konsolidieren und dringend bauen. Woher soll also das Geld kommen? Und wie viel günstiger werden die Wohnungen am Ende überhaupt, wenn die Finanzierung schon bei den bisherigen Mieten eng wird?

Ich checke wirklich nicht, warum die SPD sowas mitträgt, bevor diese Fragen beantwortet sind.

Das Finanzierungskonzept soll erst 2027 kommen. Also erst politisch einigen und danach rechnen?

Oder hat man in den Sondierungen gemerkt, dass die Rechnung nicht aufgeht, wollte den Linken aber nicht schon jetzt ihr Wahlversprechen kaputtmachen? Also erstmal einigen und das Problem auf 2027 verschieben?
