Discussion Bose A20 issue

Post image
0 Upvotes

Recently got a pair of Bose A20’s and I love them but I’m having an issue that I’m not totally sure is the headset itself. The smaller jack feels loose when I plug it in unless I align and spin it perfectly and even then it moves and I lose the connection. Nobody has any problems hearing me but I can’t hear anyone else or myself. Our airplane has an adapter for headsets that acts as a new radio button because the one on our yoke is broken and it just doesn’t sit flush in this adapter. So I was wondering if there is another adapter I could buy to maybe solve the issue.

Question Cost for a mid-size one-off airplane?

Let's say I'm an eccentric billionaire who wants a flying yacht styled after something like the PBY Catalina. Assume money is no issue (within reason), and ignoring whatever those NGAA guys are up to, how much would something like this cost to be designed and built? Also assume turboprops and other modern conveniences, and probably improved aerodynamics and hydrodynamics.

My gut tells me it would be somewhere in the $10-20 million range, although that's probably because the Catalina is a relatively simple aircraft. Are there any other current production aircraft that would fit the bill closely enough, like the Canadair flying boats?

Fast takeoff + powerful reverse thrust on the landing. Felt like the pilot had somewhere to be! Has anyone else had this experience? Is this plane overpowered for its size?

Question E175 (OO) Placard

Post image

Just finished a 1.5 hr flight. I’ve never seen this placard placed on the controls like this. Crew said they couldn’t load potable water before our departure. Would that explain the placard? Or is there a more serious issue with the aircraft?

Career Question Finish my degree or swap to AMT?

Hello, not sure if this is the right subreddit for this or not but worth a shot. I am currently and 2nd year university student studying aviation management. My school is completely paid for via financial aid. However, I have recently been considering transferring to a local community college that offers an Aircraft Maintenance associates program that also gets you your Airframe and Power-plant ratings. My question is what would you guys recommend I do? Ik my degree isn’t the strongest but it’s what I’m interested in. If I were to transfer, the schooling and training would still be fully covered, only issue I can’t do both at once. So would it be smarter to finish the degree and then get my AMT licenses and just have to pay out of pocket or transfer to the community college, do the program and then finish my degree later?

G-EUPD, the British Airways A319, was delivered new to British airways in December 1999, making the aircraft BA's single oldest narrow body in fleet

She's an old girlie, but still looking as good as when she made her maiden voyage in November of 1999, under the registration 'D-AVWG'

I'm really happy to have gotten the opportunity to capture this beauty at Manchester the other week 🥰💙
