Manga What's the deal with the omnibus pages??
I don't think it's water damage otherwise it wouldn't be so random so do y'all think it's just a printing error or could it be something else?

Discussion/Question Royal Blood Spoiler
Can someone explain, or point out where I missed the obvious explanation, of why Eren needs Zeke or Historia?
If all 'Subjects of Ymir' are descended from Ymir's three kids with her king, how is everyone not of royal blood?

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question First Anime Ever
My girlfriend is very much into anime, and I wanted to get into it too so I can share this interest with her. I’ve always believed animation is the best medium of storytelling but despite this have never watched anime.
As of 1 hour ago I have just finished the entirety of Attack on Titan. My god was I missing out for so many years. This was the greatest show I have ever watched, and such a compelling and thought provoking story. Most shows flop with their endings so badly, but this really stuck it in a way I didn’t expect.
In particular, I loved Zeke and Armin’s conversation in the paths, where Armin is talking about the beauty in the simplicity of those moments as a kid and Zeke talking about playing catch and how that makes him want to be born again. That was absolutely beautiful. In a world where so much purpose and expectations are pushed onto us in what our life needs to achieve, seeing an acknowledgement of the beauty in those small moments of joy really touched my heart. I think that in itself is a message we all need in our life.
Part of me wishes that Erin told Mikasa he loved her, but I know she knew he did, it just would’ve been nice to hear him say it to her.
Overall, I loved it so much and definitely will rewatch it. I’m moving onto Jujutsu Kaisen for now as that is my girlfriend’s favourite, but is there anything similar to Attack on Titan? I fear I will be chasing the feelings this show gave me for a very long time.

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question Isayama’s idea for naming the Ackermanns as he did. (Theory)
I recently came across a video describing a particular biological compound found in aloe vera named acermannan. It described it as a compound that is studied for its ability to influence immune cells to activate and initiate immune responses and also studied if it could boost it at the same time.
So in dumber terms a compound that awakens and may boost immunity.
This intrigued me as an attack on titan fan knowing that this thing had a similar name and attributes as the Ackermann clan in aot.
Now i know that this surname exists in real life and is very popular among germanic nations such as Germany, Sweden etc. but im questioning if Isayama deliberately chose an existing surname that fit these powers he had in mind. What makes it more believable is that the study in question was published around 2001 which does not contradict the release and conception of the manga.
Now i have searched online and reddit but haven’t found this as an existing theory that i could find an answer to. This could be a stretch or a miss-read on my part. But knowing the geniality of aot it isnt as far fetched as you may think. And if this comes to be true that is there other names/surnames that have a deeper meaning?

Discussion/Question Dyou you think AOT will have a long lasting impact in the history of media and age well?
saw some posts (obviously in writingscaling they hate aot) saying that aot 1. is garbage (lol) 2. won’t have a lasting impact. which I totally don’t believe, aot is a masterpiece and was the most demanded piece of media in 2023, nothing comes close imo

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question What does the general consensus says about school castes and see you later ed?
Rewatched the finale again since it was first aired and the school castes scene
The general opinion at that time was that it takes place in the same timeline and treated like an reincarnation thing with the tree shown...staff interviews were circulating around
Same for the see you later ed...as people were saying it means the reunion in the afterlife...
Do any of these theories still hold up as things unfold more with time and its been some time since they were aired.

Discussion/Question The Fruit, the Lantern, and the Devil: Eren as Lucifer in Attack on Titan
A girl offers fruit to a cloaked devil. The devil carries a lantern. A cloaked Eren embraces that girl and tells her she can choose.
Look at the accompanying images together. They suggest a reading of Attack on Titan as a dark retelling of Eden: false paradise, forbidden knowledge, and a liberator whose gift becomes a catastrophe. This is a symbolic interpretation regarding it's themes and characters
In the Luciferian/Satanic worldview, divine authority demands obedience, while Lucifer/the serpent offers knowledge and autonomy. Humanity loses innocent bliss but gains the freedom to question, create, and choose.
That gift cuts both ways. Greater understanding enables extraordinary achievements—and more elaborate forms of deliberate cruelty. An intelligence capable of imagining a better world can also imagine horrifying ways to destroy it. Progress expands possibilities; it does not guarantee goodness.
The traditional Christian reading connects the Fall with suffering, evil, death, and exile from Eden. This Luciferian interpretation reframes that loss as the terrible price of awakening.
Now consider the Fritz kings. The first enslaves Ymir and establishes a royal order she serves for 2,000 years, becoming a symbolic tyrannical god. Karl Fritz later creates a false Eden: Paradis—“paradise” in French—where Walls and erased memories preserve peace through ignorance.
Eren rejects that bargain. The basement revelation becomes forbidden fruit, destroying the inhabitants’ innocent understanding of their world. Touching Historia’s hand brings further knowledge, but anguish rather than peace.
The parallel becomes clearest in the Paths. Zeke (short for ezekiel, an old testament prophet) demands obedience; Eren tells Ymir she can decide. Her obscured eyes become visible as she cries: an almost literal awakening.
Return to the images: the cloak links Eren visually to the legendary devil, while the lantern evokes Lucifer as light-bearer. The fruit reverses Eden’s familiar exchange: Eren offers “Eve” the possibility of disobedience; Ymir offers him the Founder’s power.
He awakens her to her agency. She empowers him. Liberation for Ymir becomes catastrophe for humanity.
The dawn imagery, Akuma no Ko’s devil-child language, and a 2,000-year order that can evoke the Christian era reinforce this reading; “Eldia”/“el día” adds suggestive wordplay.
But Eren’s rebellion exceeds overthrowing rulers. The inhabited world disappoints him because it contradicts his imagined freedom. He rebels against reality itself, against the old system established by king fritz eons ago, and he does this by pursuing a "new world order" through the destruction of the old one.
He also resembles the romanticized, self-condemned liberator: accepting hatred and death so others might have a future. His friends mourn him, Paradis adopts his battle cry, and manga Armin expresses gratitude alongside his acknowledgment of a terrible mistake. Eren is a very promethean coded figure.
Yet Mikasa’s choice remains essential to ending the curse, and Eren admits selfish desires beneath his supposed liberation. Awakening explains his power; it does not excuse his choices.
That is the darkest contradiction: the rebel who tells Ymir she need not submit to another person’s will ultimately imposes his own upon the world.
Eren breaks the cage—and makes the whole earth pay for his idea of freedom.

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question Worst realization ever Spoiler
For context: the bechdel test is a test to see if a piece of media has two female characters have a conversation, that has nothing to do with a man. If there is a conversation about a man, especially if it is the only thing those two female characters talk about, is does *not* pass the bechdel test.
With that being said... I am 95% sure Mikasa doesn't pass the bechdel test. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure I am not... ((I am not including Hange, because Isayama doesn't want to gender them.))
Annie, Sasha, Historia, and (freckles) Ymir all do. We've seen almost all of the girls (and later when they grow to be young women) have conversations about things that have nothing to do with men... but not Mikasa. I don't think she has had any conversations that don't seem to point back at Eren, in one way or another. I could be wrong, as I haven't finished the show for a 3rd time yet. But man... if I am correct, that is such a crazy thing to notice after being a fan of this show since 2014. It also furthers my dislike and disappointment in EreMika as a ship. I don't think Isayama would unintentionally have her not pass the bechdel test, when every other female character does. The only point I can see by making Mikasa so overtly focused on Eren, is to make a bigger point that she is blinded by her love for him. *Completely.* I think a lot of people can agree on that in general, but adding that she (almost?) never has a conversation that isn't about Eren (or Armin) is on a different level. It makes me see her character to be much more depressed than I had ever noticed before.
New level of depression because of this show has unclocked 😭
EDIT: As much as I would personally love for Mikasa to pass the test, I wasn't saying she had to. I can see why it is confusing, but my point was to point it out since I didn't notice it before. Sorry if that confuses people!

Discussion/Question Which characters were canonically attractive?
These are some of the ones I’d imagine are:
Mikasa and Historia- Commented on by multiple people
Levi- I know some people erroneously claim Isayama said Levi is supposed to be ugly, but I have yet to find any official evidence of this. Based on his in universe persona and the way people like Petra idolize him, I find it hard to believe that he’s considered ugly. Yes, I know his height is a limitation and his personality and skill level are probably most of why people are attracted to him, but his looks likely amplify that
Eren- Mikasa obv found him attractive, debatable if Historia or Annie did as well to a lesser extent. He’s also described as looking like his mom, and the cult like following he was readily able to acquire in universe was likely at least in part due to the fact that he was considered attractive. Like it or not attractive people are more likely to be trusted and followed by the masses. Also Jean was jealous that Mikasa likes Eren more than him, and Erens appearance probably contributed to that
Zeke- Similarly to Eren, him being attractive would probably subconsciously contribute to the loyalty he is able to command in people, and part of me feels like he wouldn’t be described as Marley’s “Golden Boy“ if he wasn’t attractive to some degree. Also he has royal blood, which possibly makes someone appear more attractive through Ymir magic stuff, idk. He also has similar genetics to Eren obv
Floch- Basically the same thing as Eren and Zeke, but even more so because he wasn’t famous or a Titan shifter. This one is more debatable though. Him and Erwin are the similar imo in the way that their energy and ability to inspire others is probably what’s considered more attractive than their basic appearance. Love Erwin and hate Floch though
Grisha- He was considered a charismatic leader by the Restorationists and he was able to pull Dina and Carla with ease
Carla- Grisha and Shaddis both fell for her, but her kind and accepting nature probably was a large factor in that too
A lot of people are probably gonna ask about Jean also but he’s described as “horse face” multiple times by multiple people. Reiner will probably get brought up too but he’s called “ox face” and is never implied to be attractive. Many people did look up to him on Paradis tbf but this could also just be because he was the oldest cadet and the most skilled besides Mikasa. Almost every AOT character is probably at least a little attractive though because they are all muscular trained soldiers
