App [iOS] Apricity: a cozy reader for your PDFs and EPUBs, with a notebook beside every book (free, plus a free Premium year for launch)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Full disclosure: this is my app, from the small team behind Tesorin: Personal Finance.

Apricity is for reading the PDFs and EPUBs you already have, on iPhone and iPad. It sets each book on a shelf in a little reading room, with a lamp, a fire or rain to listen to, and a paper notebook right beside it.

Highlights

  • Reflow turns a PDF into text that reads like an ebook, in your size, typeface and spacing. Page numbers and headers step aside, and paragraphs carry on across page breaks. Original keeps the page as published, recoloured for night or sepia.
  • Read Aloud lights up each word as it reads and keeps going with the screen locked, with Apple's voices or natural English voices that run on the device.
  • Notebooks for Apple Pencil or a finger, with 81 kinds of paper, stickers, and search across your handwriting.
  • Markup to write straight on a PDF's pages without changing the file.
  • Lecture recording while you write: tap your writing later to hear that moment.
  • Smart Notes turns your notes into summaries and quizzes with Apple Intelligence, on the device.

No account and no ads. Books and notes stay on your device, and sync uses your own private iCloud.

Price

Free to download. Reading, highlights, notes, Markup, notebooks, recording and iCloud sync are free for good. Premium is US$14.99 a year and adds Read Aloud, transcripts, Smart Notes, export, more covers and stickers, sounds, the focus timer, room furnishing and your own fonts. Everyone starts with 14 days of Premium.

Launch offer: a free year of Premium for everyone, until end of this month.

  1. Get Apricity, open Settings, and tap the Tesorin card to download Tesorin, our personal finance app (free).
  2. In Tesorin, open Settings, tap Help, and send the word Apricity. Leave the email box empty: we only get the word, the time it was sent and that it came from iOS, which is how we match it up.
  3. Within a day, your year shows up in Apricity's Settings. No card, and nothing renews.

iPhone and iPad only, on iOS 26 or later. No Android version for now, and no Kindle or DRM-protected books.

If a PDF comes out wrong in Reflow (scanned, two columns, another language), tell me in the comments and I'll take a look.

I built a notch app that shows which apps need your attention: unread counts, AI agents and open tabs, one click away

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’ve always loved notch apps, but I wanted one that did more than hold shortcuts. So I built ATTIK: a bar that shows which of your apps need you. Unread counts, AI agents that are done or waiting on you, all in one place, and one click jumps you there.

I’ve also added a way to preview your open tabs and jump straight to any of them. You can keep it in the notch or as a floating bar anywhere on screen.1

I’d love your feedback, this will be an ongoing project to make it better.

App 3. Latch: lock your apps, then scan a sticker in another room to get them back (iPhone + Android, Pro free right now)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi r/apps 👋 I'm the developer of Latch.

Screen Time limits come with an "ignore limit" button, and it's very easy to tap. Latch moves the unlock button to another room. 🚪

🔒 You pick the apps to lock (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, whatever eats your day).

🏷️ Your key is an NFC sticker or a QR code you print, and you put it somewhere you have to walk to, like the fridge, the car or your desk at work.

🚶 To get your apps back, you walk over and scan it. With Pro you can also use a step count as the key and unlock once you've walked that far.

By the time you get to the fridge, a lot of the time you don't want Instagram anymore 😅

🌙 It can also lock on its own at set times (bedtime, work hours, dinner) or when you arrive somewhere like the office or the gym.

A few questions that come up:

**🔑 What if I lose the key?**

Print a new one and the old one stops working. There's also "break glass" three times a month: you type why you need in, and your apps open for 5 to 15 minutes before locking again.

**🗑️ Can't I just delete the app I'm blocking?**

With Hard lock on, deleting and installing apps is blocked while you're locked. On Android it blocks installs and the Play Store.

**🕵️ Privacy?**

There's no account, no ads and no analytics. On iPhone, Apple's Screen Time hides the apps you pick even from Latch. Nothing is sent to us.

💸 Pricing: free with one key, three profiles and two places. Pro is $9.99 once, and it never renews.

🎁 Right now Pro is free while the codes last.

📱 iPhone and iPad: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6815316152

Free Pro on iPhone (opens the App Store with the code EARLYBIRD filled in): https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6815316152&code=EARLYBIRD

🤖 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.luklalogic.latch

Free Pro on Android works with one-time codes, so DM me and I'll send you one.

I'd really like feedback, especially from anyone who's tried other blockers and dropped them. What made you stop? 🙏

I made an iOS app that turns any topic, PDF, or feed into your own audio show. First 100 people get a discount code!

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I'm on the team behind Lissin, and I'd love your honest feedback.

I got tired of scrolling through podcasts that almost covered what I wanted, so Lissin works the other way around, you tell it what you're curious about, and it researches the topic, writes a script, and voices it as a podcast, story, song, or deep dive

You can make one episode, or set up a show that comes back daily, weekly, or every two weeks and picks up where it left off, It can follow YouTube channels, newsletters, RSS feeds, subreddits, podcasts, X, Product Hunt, and Hacker News....

You can also hand it a link, article, PDF, or image. You choose the voice and length, and you can remix any episode or add soundscapes.

Pricing: Free gets you 50 minutes a week. Plus is $9.99/mo and Pro is $19.99/mo, and transcripts and document uploads come with the paid plans.

The giveaway: The first 100 people to comment get a discount code, comment code in the Dm's, and I'll DM your code, I'm also curious what you'd actually use it for.

Thanks for reading, and I'll answer every comment!

I’m making screenshot concepts for two apps today. The image shows the kind of work I can make, with a different style for each app.

If you’d like one, comment with your App Store link and a short description of your app. If it isn’t live yet, share a few raw screenshots instead. I’ll take the first two with enough details to work from.

Help me find Is there an app to keep track of hobbies?

Does anyone have a suggestion of an app to help keep track of hobbies? I have a lot of different interests and it's hard to keep all the options in mind sometimes and having them all in some long list just makes me feel overwhelmed.

I feel like if I had an app where my projects where organized according to some kind of categories it would be much easier to chose compared to having them all in one big list. Maybe there could be some kind of quiz to take to choose quickly. Like screen or no screen. Time available.

I’m building Dossier, a privacy-focused document vault for iOS that puts your important documents in one simple place.
📄 Scan and organise your documents.
🤖 Use on-device AI to make sense of your documents.
🔒 Keep your documents and AI processing on your device.
No cloud AI. No need to send your documents to an AI server. Just a simpler, more private way to manage important documents on your iPhone.
I’m looking for early users to try Dossier and share honest feedback. I’d love to hear what works, what’s missing, and what would make it genuinely useful in your daily life.

[Android] - Offline music and Radio Player with ready to play radios - 100% free - No premium version

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Mediaxon Music Player is an audio player for offline listening of music stored on your device (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and streaming FM radios (online radios).

Top radios on the first screen: When users access the radio screen, they immediately see the list of the top radios in their country, along with a long list of high-quality suggested radios from among the most listened to in the world. Note: Local radio stations ("Top in the user country") are pulled automatically from an online database. However, with each update, I manually curate high-quality radio stations lists for individual countries. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find the list of countries completed so far. I will be adding the rest over time.

Separated Favorites and Recents: Each section—Radio and Offline Music—has its own Favorites and Recents. The user doesn't have to worry about a thing. The app will automatically manage the Favorites and Recents for each section.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate. The online database provides more than 60,000 radio stations.

Album art: If the album art is missing from the album folder, or if Android has not properly indexed it, Mediaxon attempts to download the cover from the internet. This feature depends, of course, on the ID3 tags (album name and artist).

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting playlists fast and intuitive. Enable the Playlist Manager, in the settings screen, for a full control of the playlists.

Form Factor Optimization: Phone and Tablet (Portrait and Landscape)

There is no Premium version. All app features are available for free and without limits.

Regarding advertising: There is only a small banner at the top that isn't bothersome at all. Alternatively, when opening the full-screen player or using the app in landscape mode, a banner alternates with the albums covers, but without being intrusive at all (no audio) and with much shorter stay times than those of the cover. There is never full-screen advertising, neither at startup nor during use.

Countries with new manually curated lists: United States, India, Italy, Argentina.

If you want to check it out (I am continuously pushing updates to refine it and add new features and radios), you can find it on the Google Play Store. Thank you so much to everyone who takes a look!

Note: Only for Android 13+ (so, Android 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17).

Made a double progression app, would love feedback

I got tired of tracking double progression in my notes, so I made an app for it. You log your sets and it tells you what to do next time: more reps, or more weight once you hit the top of the range.

It can also build you a plan based on your equipment and how many days you train. Works in kg or lb.

Logging is free, no ads, no account needed.

Android only for now: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lanco.skilltree

Any feedback is welcome, good or bad.

I shipped my first app as a solo founder. Here’s what [store review / launch] actually taught me

I’m the solo builder of a The Architecture Within personality and compatibility app. It’s now live on App Store / Google Play.

I started with a personal developer account and then I wanted to build a company and change ownership to the company, and that took me longer then I expected, at least for Apple because Android was 30 min setup. Apple really gave me a hard time because there are other parties involved plus Apple support and it took me an extra 3 weeks until I was able to properly launch.

The biggest lesson: even if we are in 2026 and we suppose to have everything at the push of a button there are still companies that are old school.

Happy to answer questions about the review process / building solo / the stack, and I’d love feedback from anyone who tries it. Link in the comments to keep the post clean.

App I built a free app to help people spend less time scrolling. What do you wish screen-time apps did better?

Hey everyone, I develop SloMo, a 100% free app for iPhone and Android that helps you put limits on distracting apps.

I originally build this for myself cause I keep getting distracted while working or just waiting for AI response while coding but existing options all have subscriptions or payment so I built a 100% free and offline version.

You can block apps for a set time, schedule recurring rules around your day, or unlock them by completing a walk or exercises like squats and push-ups. You can also track your screen time and progress, and share your progress if you want.

The idea is to give you different ways to manage your phone use, whether you need uninterrupted time to focus or a little pause before opening social media again.

There’s no account required, and the core features work offline. If you use the exercise option, you can count reps with the camera or manually.

I’d love to hear from people who have tried cutting back on scrolling: what do screen-time apps get wrong for you? Are they too easy to ignore, too complicated to set up, or missing something you need?

If you want to try SloMo:

And if you do try it, tell me what would make you keep using it—or what would make you uninstall it. I’m still improving it, and honest feedback would really help. Thanks!

I'm the solo dev of WanderWay, an iPhone and CarPlay app that finds interesting places nearby. 2.1 lets you add a stop mid-drive

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi r/apps, I'm Derek, the solo developer of WanderWay Navigation (iPhone and CarPlay). Version 2.1 is out, and 2.1.1 is the current release on the App Store. Here is what changed, and then a longer description for anyone who hasn't seen it.

What's new in 2.1

  • Add a Stop. While you navigate, tap search and add any place to your drive: a nearby sight, one of your saved places, a recent, or anything on Apple Maps. Each result shows how many minutes it adds before you pick it, and guidance keeps going while the new route is built. It works in CarPlay too.
  • Curated drives to a destination. A curated drive to a place now uses the time you pick and wanders only as far as your "Stay Within" setting allows.
  • Better visit detection. Covered bridges, overlooks, parks and other places you see from the road or reach through a parking lot now count from farther away when you slow down or stop near them. Passing at highway speed does not count.
  • "Place doesn't exist" report option. If a pin points at something that is gone or was never there, you can say so in the report screen.
  • Voice options. Choose the iPhone voice you already use for Read & Speak for directions, and a new screen in Settings shows how to download a better-sounding voice.

What the app does well

WanderWay finds interesting stops near you without making you plan them. Open the map and nearby places show up: parks, scenic overlooks, covered bridges, museums, historic sites. Each place has a short description and photos (from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons), and when you're navigating, each nearby sight shows how many minutes of detour it would add. So you can decide quickly whether a stop is worth it, and add it without ending the trip you're already on.

You can pick a destination and add stops along the way, or let it build a scenic loop or a curated drive for the amount of time you have. Story Mode reads a short story about a place as you approach it. Turn-by-turn directions are spoken, and the same features work in CarPlay: starting a drive, adding a stop, and seeing the next sight ahead.

You can download routes and places ahead of time for areas with poor cell service.

Price: free to download, with every feature open for a 14-day free trial that doesn't renew and never charges you. After that it's a one-time $4.99 unlock. There is no subscription, no ads and no account, and WanderWay keeps no location history or routes on a server (your journal stays on your iPhone). Some basics stay free after the trial, including nearby places within 5 miles and place details.

Why I built it. My wife Jordan and I make long drives from Florida to Ohio with our 2-, 7- and 10-year-old, and we kept needing park stops to let the kids out. Finding good ones along the way was the hard part, so I built something to show them.

Feedback I'd like: What would make you use something like this on a normal drive? Is the minutes-added number the right thing to show before adding a stop? Anything confusing in the first-time experience? I read everything, and you can email [support@wanderwayapp.com](mailto:support@wanderwayapp.com).

App Store: apps.apple.com/app

Disclosure: I'm the developer of this app. This isn't a request to download; I'm looking for honest feedback.

App [Dev] I made UseIt, an iPhone and iPad app that tells you what to cook with what’s already in your fridge

Hi all, I'm Jonny from TGO Studios, a one-person studio, and I made UseIt, which went live earlier today.

I kept throwing away half-used veg and forgotten leftovers, and every recipe app I tried started from a recipe and sent me shopping. UseIt starts from the other end: you add what you've got (type it, take a photo, or tap your usual staples) and it shows recipes that use it up.

What it does:
330 recipes across 28 cuisines, plus recipes you import from websites or screenshots
Checks every recipe against your allergies (all 14 UK allergens), diet and foods you avoid
A shopping list that only adds what you don't already have, even across a week's plan
Meal planner for a week or a month, cooking mode with timers, and estimated nutrition per serving
Insights on what you cooked and the food you used up

No account, no ads, no tracking, and your data stays on your device. It's £3.99 once, with Family Sharing for up to six people.
I'd really value feedback, especially on anything confusing in the first few minutes.

App DOOM DANCE — a weird little game I made

I've spent the last several months making this weird-ass iPhone game called DOOM DANCE. It started out as an idle life simulator, but gradually mutated into whatever this thing is. I like it quite a bit, though, and I suspect there's probably a small cult audience for something like it.

App I made a shift calendar app for football fans - any feedback?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi guys, I developed Rotamatch app which takes your shifts and works out which games you can watch/ attend throughout the season.

If you work a rota, figuring out which games you can get to (or even watch) means checking your shifts against the fixture list every week. RotaMatch does both in one calendar and does the checking for you.

It has live scores, stats and a hell of a lot more. I added a pay calculator also.

Check it out - https://apps.apple.com/tr/app/rotamatch-football-calendar/id6790899498

iPadOS | HomeDisplay – turns an iPad into a home screen

Post image
1 Upvotes

HomeDisplay is for the iPad that sits on a stand in the kitchen or on a wall. From across the room it shows only what matters, in very large type: the time, the weather and what to wear, everyone's next appointment and when to leave, and what's still open or on in the house. Walk up and touch the screen, and the controls appear.

- HomeKit: lights, locks, scenes, thermostat, cameras, and the doorbell camera when someone rings

- Kitchen: recipes step by step with their timers, several timers at once, a shopping list shared through Reminders

- Radio (10,000+ stations), Apple Music and Podcasts

- Clock faces for every room, a handwritten family board, a photo frame

No account, no ads, no tracking. Everything is free during the beta.

Feedback I'd love: is it readable from where your iPad sits? What's missing for your home? Anything that breaks with your HomeKit setup?

TestFlight : Get it now!

I'm the solo developer, happy to answer anything here.
Requires an iPad with iPadOS 17 or later.

Title: I published my first Android app on the Play Store — here are my first results 📊

Thumbnail play.google.com
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm an indie developer, and recently I published my simple Attendance Calculator app on the Google Play Store.

I built it to solve a common problem for college students: figuring out whether they can miss another class or how many more classes they need to attend to reach their target attendance percentage.

Instead of maintaining complicated attendance records, students can enter:

Total classes conducted

Classes attended

Their target attendance percentage

The app calculates their current attendance percentage and tells them how many more classes they need to attend — or how many classes they can still afford to miss.

Here are my early Play Store statistics: 📊 670 device impressions

📥 37 device acquisitions

📱 21 monthly active devices

🚀 17 device first opens

I'm still at an early stage, and I know these numbers are small. But seeing real people discover and try something I built is exciting.

I'm now trying to understand what students actually want from an attendance calculator.

I'd love your honest feedback:

Is this kind of app genuinely useful for college students?

What feature would make you download it and keep using it?

Is a simple calculator enough, or would you prefer features like a subject-wise attendance calculator, attendance predictions, or semester tracking?

I'm not trying to build an unnecessarily complicated app. I want to make something students will actually find useful.

If you'd like to check it out, here's the Play Store link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.count.attendance_calculator

Honest criticism and suggestions are welcome. Thanks! 🙌

App Newsairy: a highly customisable, iCloud-native RSS reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac (now with iPhone Duo support)

Newsairy is a simple, fast, highly customisable RSS reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac, built around iCloud so your feeds, folders and reading state stay in sync across all your devices — no extra sign-in or new account needed.

New in the version I just shipped (1.21.2): if you use Mark as Read on Scroll, a button now clears the last few articles that used to get stuck at the bottom of the list once you hit the end, and another jumps straight to the next feed with unread items. Also, a better fit for iPhone Duo — the list and reading view now adapt properly to the new device, both closed and open, tested on the Simulator only so far, of course.

A few more highlights:

  • Get a short AI summary of any article, generated entirely on your device (iOS 26+) — nothing leaves your phone
  • Themes including Sepia
  • A customisable article list (layout, density, thumbnail size, favicon, unread dot, 0–6 preview lines); tune the reading view's font and text size
  • Smart Feeds for the latest news, and Custom Smart Feeds: keyword-based feeds that gather matching articles from every source, with keywords to include and keywords to mute
  • Read History, sorted by when you read each article
  • Three independent retention rules for how long articles stick around
  • Offline preview, full text set per feed (as published, extracted automatically, or downloaded ahead of time)
  • OPML import/export, including exporting straight from a connected sync service

No ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics.

Newsairy Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription): removes the 6-feed limit and adds sync with TheOldReader, Miniflux, FreshRSS, Feedbin and Inoreader.

Requires iOS 18 / macOS 15 (Apple silicon); AI summaries need iOS 26+.

I have a long todo list, but I'm always open to suggestions — tell me which features matter most to you and it helps me decide what to prioritise next.

App I built an IPTV & M3U player for Android, Android TV, iOS, macOS, Apple TV, Windows and Linux. Looking for feedback

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm the developer of Emileyt IPTV & M3U Player. I wanted to share it here and get honest feedback.

What it is A player app. It does not provide any channels or content. You add your own playlist (M3U / M3U8 URL, file, or Xtream login details from your own provider) and it plays it with a clean interface.

Main features - M3U / M3U8 and Xtream Codes support - EPG (program guide) support - Live TV, movies and series sections with categories - Multi-view: watch more than one stream at once - Favorites and personalized category lists - PIN lock for parental control - QR code to add playlists from your phone, no typing on a TV remote - Sleep timer - Subtitle and playback speed options - Backup and restore of your settings - Android TV friendly layout

Free vs Pro On Windows there is a free version (single profile) and a Pro version (unlimited profiles, detailed EPG).

Why I made it Most players I tried were cluttered, slow on big playlists, or hard to use with a TV remote. I wanted something fast, simple, and easy to set up.

Platforms Available now: Android and Android TV (Google Play), iOS, macOS (App Store), Windows (Microsoft Store), Linux (AppImage). In development: LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Amazon Fire TV / Fire Stick, and Huawei HarmonyOS. No release dates yet, but they are actively being worked on.

Languages Turkish, English, German, Spanish, French, Russian.

Download - Google Play (Android, Android TV): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emileyt_iptv_player - App Store (iOS, macOS, Apple TV): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/emileyt-iptv-m3u-player/id6789657162 - Microsoft Store, Free (Windows, single profile): https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9PPR2K3TBZ0T - Microsoft Store, Pro (Windows, unlimited profiles, detailed EPG): https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9PNX1X2Z2N5K - Linux AppImage: https://emileyt.com/dl/Emileyt_IPTV_Player-x86_64.AppImage - Website with setup guides (M3U, Xtream, EPG, Android TV, Windows): https://emileytiptv.com/en/

What I would love to hear - Is anything confusing in the first-run setup? - Any features you miss from other players? - Bugs or crashes on your device (please mention the model and OS version) - Which of the upcoming platforms (webOS, Tizen, Fire TV, HarmonyOS) do you need most?

I read every comment and reply. Thanks for taking a look!

Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on an app called Entrada.
The idea is pretty simple. We all have links scattered everywhere……

social media, portfolios, projects, websites, music, whatever we’re working on.

I wanted to make something that brings everything together in one place, but feels a little more personal than a traditional list of links.

With Entrada, you can create your own space, show off your work, share your links, and give people a better sense of who you are.

It’s free, and I just launched it.
I’d genuinely love for people to try it and tell me what works, what doesn’t, and what they’d change. I’m building this independently, so real feedback means a lot.

Try it here: https://artisyummy.com/entrada
Thanks for checking it out!
