Drama I simply can't win anymore
I’m a father now. I just got back home after 6 days in the hospital for the birth of my son. Now, I have a newborn at home. I go days without playing, and when I finally do get a chance, I can’t seem to win a single match anymore. Thanks, AoEIV, those nearly 400 hours of gameplay were the best :)
Sorry, just needed to vent

Discussion Are any edicts worth the cost as GH?
I’ve recently started playing GH and I like the civ but never really pay attention to the edicts, I usually just stick to the production speed edict and forget about it. Are there any edicts worth the cost of research or is sticking to production speed best?
Memes Attempted Body Blocking...?
Was it effective for the effort? Barely. Was it fun? Absolutely.

Discussion Question about Feudal MAA against macedonians
I genuinely don't understand how to counter Macedonian feudal MAA spam. I was playing China. I proscouted 3 packs so i was in a pretty good position. I decided to play for feudal and we started fighting heavily in feudal. He was initially building horsemen + archer vs my spear vs horsemen. We traded quite a lot and we ended up farm transitioning in feudal. I then saw MAA. So my initial response was. I build a buttload of archers and kite away because even if he is mace with +2 range armor. I can still win with enough archer mass. I didnt opt to go for BBQ then Zhugenu because my reasoning was 600 resource could be spent elsewhere like more units but then i reached a point where it's not possible to fight him anymore because of the sheer MAA mass he was rushing me with. I genuinely dont understand what i could have done differently. We were fighting heavily and with my proscout i had way more food than him. So i opted to end the game by doing a big feudal push but that didnt work out so it became a stalemate. He wasnt letting go of the pressure either so i couldnt just go castle because i had to continuously make unit to fight for map control. I didnt want him to golden horn tower drop at boar and gold. So i kept on hitting him with horsey. My question is where is the window for age transition in this case?
Discussion Coming to AoE4 from RoN, keybinds
Got a few questions,
Is there a way to prevent religious units to be highlighted when you click all cavalry units? (for Derwish)
Is there a way to rebind religious units' Drop Relic, Automatic Healing, Conversion hotkeys away from E, R, T?
Is there a way to remove formation hotkeys when units are selected?
Is there a way to select only wounded units when left clicking over the army? Like holding Shift or something else.
Also besides aoe4analyzer.app and aoe4guides.com is there another site? I saw one where I could check resource gather rates and how much it improves with each upgrade and depending on civ buffs, I can not find it anymore. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Discussion How to find actual low skill player to play with?
Hello Community,
as we all know it's impossible for new players or just casual ones to actually play in any public lobbies.
Sweater, ranked player and people without a life or without enough love in there life farming new players from morning to evening in "NOOB" lobbies.
I dont wanna play against AI's, that sucks. I also do not want to spend 1k hours in try harding to get better.
I'm just a casual player who want's some people on my level to play with.
And I have no idea where to find them. Are there any communities for that? Or have you all already gave up?

Discussion Which hotkeys do you prefer for military buildings?
Discussion New Unit Proposal: Resurgent Knight
The following is the proposal for a new unit inspired by the Konnik from aoe2.
The Resurgent Knight starts as a Knight type unit which can conditionally turn into a Man at Arms type unit.
The unit would have 2 seperate health pools: HP1 (Horse), HP2 (MAA)
- Damage from spearman (and similar units) would be directed to one pool (HP1)
- Other sources of damage would be directed to the other pool (HP2)
If HP1 reaches 0 and HP2 is still positive, the unit turns into a Man At Arms type unit with the remaining health.
Do you think such a unit could work in AOE4? I didn't specify the numbers as they could always be adjusted for balance and it could even take 2 population space if needed.

Discussion Why did the nerf The Improved Huihui Pao so much in The Crucible?
It's basically useless now in The Crucible challenges. I decided to start doing the challenges again recently. I only played them a bit when they first came out. Back then the Huihui was amazing. It did considerable damage and was great at taking out incoming trebuchets and other seige engines. Now it's useless against that. Since you are attacking walls or enemy keeps in The Crucible it's pretty useless. Doesn't do much damage to units or seige engines anymore.

Discussion What civs are the best in imp? This is my teirlist

The theory behind this is:
S teir: Civs that can sustain high production of premium units and have powerful pop efficient options.
A Teir: Have strong overall ecos with decent gold production bonuses and strong units. Don't quite have the sustainability of an S teir civ but typically always feel good about going Imp
B Their: Civs that are missing something significant. May have a good eco and good units but lack a gold bonus or maybe civs with a decent gold bonus but lack strong military.
C tier: Don't really have much going for them in imp and going imp is mainly used to push a lead rather than hit a power spike and the longer you spend in imp the worst the game gets
Mongol Teir: If you find yourself in imp you probably are about to lose or could have won 10 minutes ago or both.
Some possibly controversial picks ill explain a bit more:
China: I know a lot of people see them as an amazing late game civ but I rank them rather low because they only have mass hand cannon as an option and that is really expensive and gold intensive and China doesn't generate a ton of gold. I think this was a lot better back in the day before silk bowstrings was a tech but now its quite easy to pick off hand cannons with archers
Byzantines: They have great options for the late game but with no gold gen they often just cant actually afford any of them. Fully upgraded Varagian guards are very hard to deal with and fully upgraded catas are as well. Limitantie/ handcannon is also a very oppressive comp. However byz is already rather gold starved going into the late game most time just trying to get techs that is difficult to sustain any of their good options
Abbasid: Abbasid like byz don't have a gold bonus in addition they don't have any particularly powerful options to play for. I was debating putting it in the C-teir but they do have the camel archer which is a pretty decent trash unit if you can find the gold to fully upgrade it and they do have a very strong late game food eco to sustain it but at the end of the day civs who can spam knights or premium light cav in the late game will give Abbasid trouble which is kind of ironic.
Dehli: While on the surface it may look like you can run this civ out of gold in the late game and force them to play for unideal comps the truth is dehli saves so much gold from getting their techs for free that they can sustain production of gold units well past what most civs are capable of in addition they can swap there army comp very easily forcing their opponent to spend valuable gold in the late game tech swapping as well
HRE and OotD: These two are a bit weird because they can have a strong late game but only if they go Regnitz and get 4 or 5 relics which then they both go up a couple teirs. HRE though in particular doesn't have any good military bonuses and really lean heavily on their eco to carry them which matters much less in the late game where players are banking resources and pop efficiency starts to play the more dominate role.
