That's quite the roster to familiarize yourself with, especially seeing them lined up like this.

Have you got them, their God Powers and unique bonuses memorized, or do you just wing it each game? And which god do you consider to be the most forgettable or obscure (either in-game or just in general)?

The AI doesn't actually "die" anymore after you kill their regent?? Is this new? Whatever units they have keep fighting you - and even chase your units halfway across the map! - and whatever towers and fortresses they have keep shooting arrows??? This feels like horse crap. They're effectively still in the game after you've defeated them, and now 1v4 Regicide Deathmatch feels impossible, because you can't even take their TC locations after you've defeated them, because all their fortifications shoot down your units and the TCs you're building.

Edit: OK, not impossible, but still... There shouldn't be any arrows shooting from fortifications after a player is defeated.

What are the biggest differences between Gauntlet Mode (AOM) and Crucible mode in AOE4.

I have played a little bit of Gauntlet Mode but never Crucible. Also minimal gameplay on AOE4.

I am looking to get into AOE4 for the rest of the year while we wait on news for hopefully more AOM content.

Also is there a way to make the UI for AOE4 to look more like AOM. Personally AOE 4 looks a bit dated.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Look how they moved the Statues inside the Worldwonder, I love attention to details like that, gives the Map so much soul.

When you play in a team, it's ALWAYS the players on the sides who get ganged up on! Like, it's not even fun at this point. If you're on the side, you might as well just give up...

The AI is seriously unbalanced when it comes to team games. Players on the flanks constantly get attacked by wave after wave after wave, while players in the middle have all the time in the world to build up their bases and gather resources.

it seem AI always gang bang the lowest score player, so if you are behind you will be behind more!... Its the worst thing the game could did..

The game kinda sucks because of this. I wonder if AoE 4 has the same problem.

Hello, i'm here because i have a question. All Civs have one major god that helps in the description the myth units (Kronos, Loki, Shennong, Susanoo, Tezcatlipoca, and for the Greek, all major gods).

But Egypt don't have a major god for this, and the only minor god that in the description helps a myth unit is Anubis, but only for the anubite.

Why in your opinion? We will have a day a 4th major god for myth units? I hope that.

About a month ago i made a modpack to test the modding abilities of the Retold version of the game. I used to make local small modpacks in the previous game, and i've mostly been into scenario designing. But when i saw the update that we are now able to add new cultures, i felt hyped.

I've Always wanted the Mesopotamians in the game, i kind of expected them to be there by now but we got other expansions.

So i put my mind to it and set it up, wrote all the files and made the images.

I've posted in on the gameforum already. But i'm noticing this part of the community is also quite active. Sadly the community is not as active in scenario designing or custom games as it used to be back in the day and the years after.

Now i'm curious because i do have a lot of people subscribed to my modpack. I'm curious what you people think of how these civilizations play.

Sadly i'm not gifted in the image design department, so i've used some AI for the images and icons that i've made. But i was able to modify some units. But i do work with CAD software so next year i hope to design some new buildings to add to the modpack.

I'd love to hear how you experience the gameplay and what you think of the civilization. I've tried to keep it close to the coregame, and not too much unique in gameplay differences. So that it'll feel more vanilla.

Is it me or Egyptian Pantheon really really suck?

I tought it could be nice to focus on gold/food only because they don't use wood all that much before Age 2, all of this pantheon are weak!
Getting resources is very very very very hard! units are weak asf!, defence building suck real bad, its just all bad pantheon

I love this game. I played it since I was a child. When retold came out I was so happy. Then the expansion came and I was loving it.

But now I have wife and kids and also ADHD so you can imagine I kinda hyper focused on the game.

Became good at it. At least from my perspective (1500 Elo) was able to play with legends of the game.

But it was paying a toll on my family and time. Because there’s no middle point with someone with adhd. I can either be addicted to the game or not play at all.

So I felt it was necessary to say good bye at least for a while to this beatiful community that has given me so many hours of fun. ❤️‍🩹

Finaly i hawe win in qauntlet mode scirmich. 1 game session: interesting confrontation 1 vs 2.

I hawe preparing for Mega - battle 1 vs 3. FFA: 1VS 1 VS 1VS 1. Celestial challenge/Gautlet mode. 1 life, in last ~ (nearly) 2.5-3 --- 4 hours i hawe reward Afrodit's gift Blue/rere: villager hawe biggesr hp and deal more damage.

P.S. in line i may for FFA for 4 players. Rewards: Myth units deal more damage, if more favor cost it in. 3-4 epoch. Scandinavian enter in Scadi? 🤔. Or Atlantis and Uranus/Ocean/Secret of Poisedon/Cavalry regen - on Attack/Afrodit's Secret ===>>> villagers - heroes; cavalry - vampiric; and myth units deal more damage (it's a reward - for this challendge 😜🥰😍🤌🔥🔥🔥🤘🤙🤪✌️😅😇🤔🤗🤗🤗👀🙆‍♂️🦾🧘‍♂️).

I found the Collage i made of the Gods in Age of Mythology for the DS ages ago. Thought might as well share it considering the Nintendo game ain't that popular and the artwork was too nice not to be shared.

They are in Following order:

1. Anubis, Bastet, Hathor, Horus, Isis, Osiris, Ra, Sekhmet, Set, Sobek, Thoth

2. Baldr, Freyja, Forseti, Heimdal, Hel, Loki, Njord, Odin, Skadi, Thor, Tyr

Yeah so the hammadriads are the most OP myth unit. They cost WOOD and you can spam them up and then you basically win the game.

You want ranged heroes to counter them? Good luck, because theyll be autotargetting their FLYING HERO Icarus that you can't even counter cuz it's a flying hero. Have fun microing every fight just to be hopeless anyway

ALSO- these hamadriads do more damage to heroes than most myth units. They have a negative multiplier that isnt as big as most... which is weird considering theyre rangd and OP

That God Power Demeter has that raises the dead? Yeah that's just an autowin button. Then she can do it a second time because you know Greek players have no fundies and just spam favour to use god powrs right? Nah, I wont drag all Greek players under the bus. Demeter players tho? Yup.

I can’t figure it out. I just played a game where I had 30 more villagers. 80 villagers to 50 and the guy somehow obtained the same amount of total resources as me. Before you say anything, yes I did get my resource upgrades. And I got most of the relics. But he somehow kept up with my resources and put them all towards his army and wiped me. I was Greek and he was Norse

Finally got all my Blessings to Fine last week (I'm a little behind, I know) and this week would be in theory, my first Mythical if they upgraded. Which they do! Really, really long grind ahead, which I'm not sure I'm willing to do now that I finally reached level 99 in Gauntlet.
