Discussion If You're Joining the Army, Anki is a Winning Strategy!
Hello everyone,
just wanted to post that if you're joining (at least the Army) and seeking MOS (your job) qualification, pre-studying the program using Anki is a winning strategy!
I enlisted and didn't have my EMT license for the 68W (Combat Medic) program, so I DL'd some common EMT licensing decks and indexed some high yield cards and passed it on the first time.
Army education programs are... uhhh.... terrible... but I did everything but kick my feet up on the desk, both in the civilian training segment and the military segment and did really well! (Also god help you if you don't qualify in your MOS, you'll be a cook and that's đ)
Out of my company of ~400 people, more than 200 recycled (had to move all their stuff (WAY worse than it sounds) to another company to try again).
I was overly paranoid and studied to paramedic level civilian side and did way too much prep military side decks (a lot of low yield cards like fieldcraft), so that helped a bit. Here was my cardload before I shipped to basic.
It should generalize to other medical MOS's and other really hard schoolhouses (they don't give you ANY time at all to learn really and its super intense).
