So just a little over a year on zep.

Weezer (before zep about 245 in 2023)
tank top about 230 right before zep (Aug 2024)
Tie dye shirt about a month ago 162
Black hoodie last week 158

I’m loving life. I’m happy. I feel cute. I also feel cold. 🤣

My work said our insurance is dropping coverage for this miracle med. I’m really thankful I’ve basically just about reached my goal. A little nervous for maintenance, but I feel that I will be able to do it.

One year ago today I started my Zepbound journey, and I can say with full certainty that it has changed my life. Before starting Zepbound, I often times felt out of control with my eating, binging and using food as an emotional cover for the outside stress in my life. I struggled to lose weight and saw a trajectory that led to diabetes and heart disease, which both run in my family. Zepbound has physically changed me, but I think more importantly, it has changed my mindset on taking care of myself completely. I have never felt so in control of my body. Being on Zepbound has helped me come to terms with the binge eating I used to partake in, has made me think more thoughtfully about the way I fuel myself, and has improved my confidence. For those of you coming to this subreddit looking to know the dish on Zepbound, I hope this post can inspire you to take the leap. I’m currently on the 10mg dose, and have taken upping my dose slowly. My first dose, 2.5mg, i initially had lost a little weight, but then gained it back because i had acclimated to that dose, so if that backsliding happens to you, DONT WORRY. I personally only weigh myself once a week, I don’t need to micromanage myself. I’ve so far been on the 10mg for about 4 months, and will probably up it again when I finish my next pack of vials. Which btw, I prefer the vials to the quikpens, I didn’t like the quikpens at all and actually found them to hurt more, so I switched back!

I did have a few miscellaneous thoughts to add too:

  1. Tums have been a lifesaver, I never really had any sort of heartburn or acid reflux before, and now if i overeat or eat too late in the evening, I make sure to have a tums nearby when I need it!
  2. I didn’t realize how much crossing my legs bothered me when i weighed more. crossing my legs has become so much easier and more comfortable.
  3. finally i can wear a knee high boot without it cutting into my calf!
  4. the biggest con is that none of my clothes fit anymore, which i suppose is a good problem to have, although my wallet says otherwise. For now, I’ve invested in some handy button pins so I can button my jeans tighter (highly recommend!!)
  5. the absence of food noise is genuinely such a relief. it was the first thing i noticed when i started the shot a year ago, and it really put into perspective how much my food noise was impacting my day.
  6. the other con is that, as a foodie, i can’t eat all the food. even now, my eyes are about double the size of my stomach, which does occasionally such the fun out of eating, but I’ve found that I really enjoy small plate/dim sum situations, so I can try lots of small portioned items!
  7. walking, fiber, and water are all my north stars! fiber especially has been something i watch more closely and try to eat more of!

and big s/o to this subreddit, this has been such a wonderful place of wisdom and support for me 💚

I started this journey at 246 lbs, and I weighed in today at 181 pounds. Almost what I weighed in senior year of high school. I can’t believe it. I don’t really see the weight loss on myself (probably body dysmorphia) but other people definitely can. My favorite NSV: TRAVEL is SO MUCH EASIER.

Zepbound has been a miracle tool for me. It's helped me in ways only the other people on this sub can truly understand. My journey has focused on the same things many of you are working on (protein + fiber, water, weight training, good sleep, and staying ahead of constipation. LOL)

Per the title, reaching goal is just a new phase of this work that comes with its own challenges and learnings. Don't be surprised!

If you're just starting, or you're somewhere in the middle and wondering if your hard work is paying off, please keep going. Give yourself grace. Don't measure your success by how quickly/slowly the scale moves for you or anyone else.

And when you reach your goal, think of it as the moment you begin learning how to sustain what you've worked so hard to achieve.

"After" is a milestone, not the finish line.

Tips/Tricks 1 Year and 2 months of using GLP’s AND I JUST DISCOVERED I COULD GET A 3-MONTH SUPPLY FOR $24.99?!?

I’ve been on Zepbound/Monjauro for over a year and 2 months, and Walmart Pharmacy always told me my insurance wouldn’t cover a 3-month prescription. So I always paid $25 a month for 1 month supply. I recently asked my doctor to send a 3-month prescription to CVS Pharmacy just for the heck of it, and they filled it with no problem! I used the Zepbound savings card and paid just $24.99 for the entire 3-month supply. 😭 It seems like the savings card saved me $75.01. Also wow retail price for 3 months is $3,840.99

Even better, CVS has a chat feature where I simply sent them my Zepbound savings card information, and they applied it without any hassle. If you have CVS Caremark, it may be worth trying CVS Pharmacy for your 3-month prescription. 10/10 for CVS

I kind of can't believe I'm here. Hit my goal today. I'm 5'1" and have lost 30% of my body weight, been doing body recomp and have preserved lean mass. I'm so grateful, not just for the weight loss, but for a new way of life. My A1C, cholesterol, blood pressure, visceral fat all are lower/less. I'm in love with my body again. I'm in love with my life again. Thank you all for so much support and encouragement along the way. The journey is definitely not over, in many ways it's just beginning!

I am in awe looking back at pictures of myself from 10 months ago! I started Zepbound January 16 of this year with a starting weight of 325 pounds I am now down to 245 pounds with a total weight loss 80 pounds. This is the best thing that has happened to me!

without the help of Zepbound, I was headed for disaster. I’m at the mac dose right now, which is 15 mg and I’ve been on that dose since July. I am not losing much weight anymore, but I am maintaining. I haven’t been in the gym as much as I’d like, but I do plan to work out and lift weights more often, that way I can lose at least another 15 to 20 pounds, which is my goal.

I just thought I’d post my progress to give anyone out there. That’s currently on Zepbound a little motivation to keep going the results pays for itself.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Officially hit 1 year on Zep

October 4th was my 1 year mark for being on Zepbound.

I was scared to try it like a lot of people, but I’m so glad I did. It has completely changed my life.

My starting weight was 296lbs. I was struggling with really bad depression and had added weight gain from the medications I was trying.

I had pre-diabetic numbers and other things happening with my body that were caused from being so overweight.

I struggled to put socks and shoes on, I couldn’t fit on some rides at amusement parks, I was out of breath just walking up two flights of stairs. My knees hurt. My back hurt. I couldn’t walk far at all without being winded or tired pretty shortly in.

I hated myself. Especially when I looked in the mirror.

In just one year- I’ve lost 128lbs. I no longer have pre-diabetic numbers. My body is starting to work properly again. I can bend over with ease (or bring my leg(s) up) to put socks and shoes on. I fit on rides. I can walk up multiple flights of stairs (at almost a slow jogging pace) without losing my breath or needing to pause to catch it. My knees don’t hurt. My back feels better than before. And I can even go for short runs (a work in progress).

I’m still on my journey (I would like to lose a bit more if I can)… and I will be someone who will probably have to be on a maintenance dose for the rest of my life. But I’m okay with that.

I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I tried every diet, every exercise, every calorie counting technique you could think of and I simply could not lose weight.

Zepbound has been the biggest blessing and tool when it comes to helping me lose the weight in a healthy manner. I still have to put the effort in. Eat right, exercise, try… but to finally have something that has helped me, I couldn’t be more thankful.

And now…

I don’t hate myself. Especially when I looked in the mirror. I see someone who tries. Everyday. Who looked past the fear and wanted more for herself. And it finally paid off.

Hi, so I realize that I just posted a couple days ago. But I had to mark the occasion! Proud of myself!!!

Along with my 2.5 mg shot, here are the attainable changes I have made over the past 8 weeks:
- scaled back drinking by 90%. This was something I’ve been meaning to do but the meds made way easier.
- increased water intake to 100 oz per day
- walking on my lunch breaks at work (full time desk job) for 20-30 mins. Aiming for 6,000-7,000 steps daily for now. I put in my headphones and listen to audiobooks while I do this, I tend to get bored otherwise.
- lifting weights at home 3x per week. It is simple and achievable for me to do this with two small kids. I can take 20-30 mins to do this in an evening and on weekends.
- consuming enough calories for my lifestyle and focussing on protein/fibre. It’s like a broken record at times if you search this sub but WOW it really makes a difference when you’re consistent.
- celebrate the wins!! Share with others how you’re being successful and when you feel discouraged, reach out to trusted friends! This journey is not a straight line. You are not alone!!!

This medicine is a game changer. It is making ALL of the above possible for me. Yes, I am working hard! But it is not like pulling teeth as it was before Zepbound! I’m sure many can relate. This is a weight off my shoulders; literally and figuratively.

Humor The exquisite pleasure of taking a big dump

I can't believe I'm choosing to make a post on the internet about bowel movements. But does anyone else get an unexpected amount of enjoyment from taking a really sizeable dump since they started Zepbound?

This is not something I ever experienced in the past, but since starting the meds it's just so incredibly satisfying. I don't know if it's the anticipation of knowing my number will go down on the scale the next morning, or just the physical relief of passing the turd out of my system. Maybe a little bit of both. I'm not even struggling with constipation. But the glorious pleasure of a good shit is unmatched.

Diet/Health/Exercise Let’s be honest… Treats

Let’s be honest here for those of us who have not succumbed to that crazy diet mentality when taking this medication. (which hopefully anybody reading this realizes is wrong. Anything and everything in moderation while keeping it protein for veggie centric and small smaller portions is key.)

What are the candies and sweets you still eat?

Me? I absolutely love red licorice and I do not deny myself . Or raisinets or Hershey bars. :)

Before/After Pics Reflection

I wanted to wait until I hit under 200lbs to post but it's taken me 2.5 years to lose 80lbs. And while I'm so close to that first goal, I want to stop and reflect on the huge accomplishment that I've been able to lose 80lbs. I've never been a super-responder and my weight loss hasn't been linear. I'm also a person who needs to watch what I eat regardless of medication, work out at least 3x a week, and face the realization that while I am smaller I still have so many hangups about my body (loose/saggy skin in particular). I've maxed out at 15 mg and the only place I can think to go next is to try Reta which may be in my future. But right now I want to celebrate myself, the fact that I haven't given up or gone backwards, the non-scale victories like clothes fitting better, the walks and workouts getting easier, the running around with my kids being so much more fun, and my outlook on health overall. If it's taken you a long time to lose weight, please look to this post as inspiration that you can and will get to your goal and even if you haven't reached your goal yet there are so many little things in between that are beautiful and worth celebrating.

54F was at the gym earlier doing some work on the floor. I haven’t been comfortable on the floor for a decade plus. I stopped in the middle of something to double check my list and I noticed that my legs just sort of fell into a comfortable position. Except I haven’t been able to sit like this for at least 20 years. And yeah, it was actually comfortable.

Personal Insights Ladies: Drink, Drink, Drink! 🥤

I've been on Zepbound since February. I recently titrated up to 12.5mg with just 7 pounds to the finish line!

However, I learned a costly lesson that I want to share. I don't want to get too tmi!

Day 1 after a shot has always been miserable. I want to stay in my pj's, without eating or drinking. The 12.5 change really made me not want to drink anything during the day.

Yesterday was my Day 1. I woke up to pee and it was blood! That is not something you see at 62 years old, if you know what I mean.

I called my nurse and she told me to come immediately (I gotta shower, UGH).

The rest of my Day 1 was spent going to the Dr, ending up in ER getting fully hydrated and having a CT Scan.

It took 2 liters (2 bags) to hydrate me, several blood tests and the scan to find I have a bladder infection. I'll be on antibiotics for 2 weeks.

One very kind nurse practitioner told me that I could have probably spent my Day 1 at home in my pj's, (and avoided this upcoming bill) if I had drank enough fluids.

Another kind nurse told me I am not the first GLP-1 patient to come in dehydrated. They have had several and this is a small hospital.

So, this is my cautionary tale after 8 months and several Day 1's on Zepbound. I know you don't feel like it on most days. Buy a reusable cup that you have to finish before bedtime. Mine is arriving on an Amazon truck today.

Drink, Drink, Drink!

evidently I didn’t take any full body pictures directly around starting but the first pic is from late september of 2025.

I’ve lost 76lbs so far, which is a 27% change in my body weight according to shotsy. I’ve gone from severe/class 3 obesity(47ish bmi when starting) down to class 1 obesity(34.6 bmi now) and I only have about 30 more pounds to hit my goal weight of 175.

I’m so incredibly thankful for zepbound helping me change my life and putting a lot of my lab work back in the normal range and boost my self confidence! I actually take pictures of myself now :)

my start weight was 284lbs
current weight is 208 lbs
as stated above, my goal weight is 175lbs

Vent/Rant Clothes sizing is messing me up

I've lost 60 pounds. Went from 206 to 145. Went from stuffing myself in size 14, 16, and then 20s to feel comfortable. I'm currently at a size 12. The problem is that I keep getting frustrated because I feel like I should be a smaller size. I know all brands are different, but every time I buy a size 10, it just doesn't fit. I have two pairs of size 20 shorts that I would rather wear than my size 12s.

I'm ecstatic about losing the weight, I'm just frustrated with why my clothes (jeans in particular) aren't fully showing that progress.

Anyway, those are my thoughts for today.

Yes, I can admit it. I was the guy that would always laugh at people bundled up in sweaters when it's 70° outside. Asking if we can turn the AC down during meetings.

I'm down a little over 65 lb and I'm very acutely realizing that I don't have my winter coat built in anymore.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 They Fit!

Okay, so about 7 maybe 8 years ago, I bought the cutest pair of underwear and they did not fit. I kept them because they were super cute and had the hopes of one day wearing them. They have been folded at the back of my drawer since. When I bought them, I probably weighed around 185. I decided to start cleaning out my cloths that no longer fit. Well to my surprise, they fit! Just had to share for the girlie that understand how much a cute pair of underwear can lift a girls confidence.
