this is my vent about how i literally can’t enjoy other vreat rpgs after finishing xenoblade series (including X).

i have tried countless rpgs all the way from skyrim to even unicorn overlord, yet none of them gave me the same feeling as xenoblade did, right now im playing witcher 3 remaster for the first time ever and its absolutely great game, i just dont feel the same joy as i felt in xenoblade.. there’s something missing i can’t explain what but maybe its just that xenoblade is so unique in world building and stories that now every other rpg feels almost same? idk i just feel like i have this huge hole after finishing the series that i can’t fill with any other rpg. my only hope for now is xenoblade genesis.

Here’s a bunch of weird head cannons from over the 10 years of me being a xenoblade fan

HeadCannon: Shulk used to sneak out tomorrow the gem crafter and Monado when no one was around

HeadCannon: Rex and mythra would get into arguments during trips towards different ends regarding the bedding. Like the comforters and what not.

Headcannon: Pyra most likely has the sleep walking problem as well but her leads into more sleep, baking or cooking in general

Headcannon: Noah is probably the only member of the main crew who refuses to eat if someone is upset or hurting

Headcannon: malos most likely was thinking of Jin and the rest of Torna before he died

Headcannon: Jin would’ve most likely died in the aegis war if he was with a different driver

Headcannon: Lora swaps clothes with Hayes every now and then and even hairstyles just to trick Jin

HeadCannon: addom probably had to hide a lot of of the food ingredients from mythra when he awakened her for the first time

These are just some of the head cannons. There is a 10 page thing in my Notes app regarding head cannons. But I will not share those here and that would be too much for anyone. But I want to know what are your guys’s weirdest or funniest head cannons regarding xenoblade as a whole

Bonus headCannon: pneuma would’ve definitely been the more welcoming personality for Rex to come home too whenever he was out to go along either salvaging or fighting and would have blankets food and her body to keep him company by letting him rest on her lap

I'm pretty patient and really wanted to get them all...you know, gotta catch em all kind of personality here.

RNG doesn't want to give me Zenobia, Cressidus, or Obrona.

I tried the LoC Dino whatever level (that you need to unlock Shulk and Fiora for use outside of LoC) with my best lineup (although they weren't all currently at lvl 99, they were all 95+) and got my butt handed to me on a silver platter in under a minute.

Legendary crystal farming is a pain, and really doesn't feel worth it when it's 10 straight boring normal blades.

Was running in circles slowly whittling this gogol down until eventually it got stuck and the battle ended.

I’m using the underneath platform method to kill gladitor orion o toole and he somehow kills me! Since his ai most of the time won’t attack.

I’m using zeke kos-mos as a way to deal damage with avant garde, enchanted lonicloth, beta scope that I should swap.

This boss is evil and terrible like his voice. Its the guy who got killed best threoy and he’s an ass too. No joke he is the hardest quest boss next to the patotic guy. Please help! I need to beat this tool on boc.

yo sawano, mix attack on titan with some ratchet and clank and get the homie to rap on it, this has to be one of the most kickass video game soundtracks of all time.

The definitive edition of Xenoblade Chronicles X puts a capstone on a game that was previously a mixed bag and makes it legendary. What was always fantastic is strong as ever, gameplay wise - you get stuck on a whole different planet, get a bigger gun, then you don't worry about the future; it's alright.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is a game that you really need to sit down and do the sidequests in. I felt like I did a ton and I still didn't seemingly scratch the surface; next time I will do even more now I know the ending. They contain some of the best side character development in the series - most side characters are better than most of the Xenoblade 1 party members (aside from Shulk and Riki, the GOAT). The biggest flaw of the base game is that it draws you in to its main story by introducing compelling mysteries without giving you the answer to any of them and then sequel baits you without giving satisfying closure for any of the fantastic characters or alien species you met along the way - it's not that anything you get given is badly written, it's simply that it feels as if the script got slashed in half. Had I played the game in it's base state, I would've written it of as half a game - and in fact I nearly did. A pile of written cheques that never got cashed in, and a ton of side content that felt ultimately completely inconsequential; the end of the base game cares not whether you did any of it aside from what was mandatory to progress.

Thankfully, the definitive edition adds a Chapter 13, split into three seperate acts, which basically turns the game into Xenoblade Chronicles X.5, with a mission to expand what it was originally trying to be into something grander, answer questions left blatantly unaddressed, and actually tie all the fantastic characters into the main story in a satisfying way. Like Persona 5 Royal, the additional content at the end of this game feels a little jarring when you first enter it, but you quickly acclimate to it and it rapidly grows into the greatest moments of the entire game - especially the final act. There is enough here to work with that it could've been stretched further and made into a sequel, but I ultimately think the definitive edition was the appropriate answer, as the base game's story was simply inexcusably mediocre without the Chapter 13 content to give it some payoff and land it comfortably alongside the rest of the titles in this legendary game series.

Okay so my friend keeps trying to make fun of me cause he keeps saying that in X you can put a 13 year old girl (Lin) in a bunnysuit (obviously he hasn't played it) but the sheer frequency makes me wonder if I'm misremembering out of bias. Like she always had the censored verison right???
