Discussion Did your house have a 2nd phone line at any point before you were 18?
Trying to figure out how common this was for our generation for something I'm writing set in 1996. We never had one, but I had friends who had a separate line for either a parent's work, or for the kids' friends to use. It would be extra helpful if your answer is yes (and you are comfortable doing so) to please share in the comments what your family's general financial situation was. Thanks fellow Xennials!

Need a 80s movie recommendation
To show my 12 year old nephew. A quintessential movie representative of the 80s. Has a solid 80s soundtrack, stars someone at the top of their game and the plot is not a fantasy or sci-fi but includes depiction of real (or semi-real) life in the 80s.

We should bring web rings back
Now that we can all spin up websites with Ai so easily we should all focus on building our own sites and then just link to each other. Forego Facebook or other accounts and just manicure your own place.

Went out for breakfast in this bad boy...
Have a good relationship with one of the waiters and it went like this:
Him: "oh that's sick!"
Me: excited he knows what The Crow is "Thanks man! Definitely OG!"
Him: "what's it from"
Me: shake my head in sadness and old
Edit: I also have a few Crow tattoos that I'm realizing now I'd have to fully explain. My shame is boundless.

Taking the L
So, this may be a long shot, but my Xennial husband and I are watching a TV show that takes place in Chicago, and there is, inevitably, a scene that prominently displays the “L train” or “elevated train.”
I turned to my husband and explained that every time I see that train in the context of Chicago, I instantly think of The Fugitive. He said he does the same.
It was a crucial discovery that furthered the plot, and, for two people from very different backgrounds, it was still novel enough to both of us (one from the South and one from the west) that it really seared into our brains.
Anyone else afflicted with the “L train” Fugitive intrusive thoughts?

PB & Banana. Who's with me?
The Peanut Butter and Banana "sandwich" was a staple snack in my childhood. It's been a long time since i've had one of these.

Discussion Do the 90s feel like a lifetime ago to you?
I was born in 77 and was just thinking about how some people say it feels like yesterday but to me it doesn't at all. It almost feels like a different universe. My life as well as the world were a completely different place 30 years ago. Now I know how my parents and grandparents probably felt back in the day, but the changes over the past few decades I would say were even more apparent.

ODB McDonald’s commercial
Is it cracking anyone else up hearing INCREDIBLY inappropriate songs from our youth used in commercials now? Like did anyone approving this listen to the lyrics? There was I think an Apple ad using the Pixie’s Gigantic a few years ago that killed me.
