I have been working in Xbox support for 7 years. I've handled around 80,000 support requests. It was always a calm and low-stress job.

But in the last two years, it's become highly stressful due to users becoming increasingly aggressive towards us, the support agents.

Even though 80% of the time, the user themselves is to blame for the problem they're facing.

I don't know if it's a generational issue, but it's noticeably getting worse. And it's exhausting me.

I'm making this post as an appeal, so that everyone remembers that we are also human beings, and we are employees of a company. Keeping that in mind, understand that we are not to blame for your problems and we are online daily to help you resolve the situation, so if you are polite it helps a lot. Our community will only benefit from it.

Having made this appeal, I leave this space open for questions and doubts you may have about how support works, contact methods, procedures, what we are allowed to do, etc.

I had an old Xbox 1, got rid of it because the screen would buffer and glitch frames constantly.
Just got a used series X, it was cheaper as the disc drive was stuck closed.

Now on the series x it DOES THE SAME EXACT lag my Xbox 1 did, it started doing it before I even signed in. It’s like it misses frames then skips back to where it should be. Sometimes it goes away, other times it makes it super frustrating to play. I hard reset it, reset MAC address, unplugged and waited, almost all the normal “fixes” to this sort of issue.

When I see people complain about this it’s on certain games, mine is the whole console. I don’t want to say it’s the hardware bc it sometimes stops doing it. But it came back today in full force and none of my trouble shooting has fixed it. The video is just an example but it does it all the time even worse.

Can I fix this? Or do I just have to wait for it to go away and do the cycle all over again? Am I the only person with this problem? I honestly hope not as it has followed me to a second console before I even signed in. Thank you for reading 😊

/ps. It cannot be wifi as it does this offline after resetting aswell and I have nothing downloading in the background

I shut it down completely, no power saving mode. i'm a light sleeper, it wakes me up almost every morning when the power brick starts making sound. unfortunately it gets really loud so I cannot fall asleep again. the power brick isn't loud when i use it in daytime. ok sometimes it is, but most of the time I don't hear it.

is there a better option than unplugging it before going to bed ? i'd like to fall asleep while watching something on it.

Hi, on my Series S, I’m experiencing texture glitches, crashes, and the console even restarts or shuts down on its own while playing certain games. I’ve performed a deep cleaning and checked the console settings, but I still haven’t found a solution. Has anyone else experienced this, and did you manage to find a fix?

This happens to me in games like FC 26, Marvel Rivals, Fortnite, AC Unity, and MK1, but in games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Watch Dogs 2, Resident Evil 4, and others, I don’t encounter these errors.

I have a strange problem with my Xbox Series X.

Only in certain games, such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and NBA 2K26, an issue with controller inputs occurs when I start playing. The controller becomes much less responsive, and some inputs are occasionally not registered. The problem persists even after I close the games and goes away if I restart the controller.

In Expedition 33, I fixed the issue by switching to Performance Mode (it only happened in Quality Mode), but I don't know how to fix it in NBA 2K26.

When the first controller I've been using develops this issue after playing one of those two games, if I turn on a second controller, the newly activated controller works fine. However, the same issue eventually occurs with any controller I use to play those games. It doesn't happen when the controller is connected via USB cable.

I’ve noticed for a while now that audio and party chat issues seem to occur when I’m using media streaming apps like BBC iPlayer, Twitch and sometimes even Netflix. just having a twitch stream open will make all my audio choppy and my calls will start cutting out yet when I go off the app everything will be fine. I have no issues on games or Youtube so its confusing and annoying, has anyone experienced this?

edit : want to add that im talking about headphones audio and yes this is consistent over different types of headphones including new ones

I save a clip it then stutters throughout the whole recording it used to work just fine what would be causing this? Its ruining my clips

I got issue with downloading my games on Xbox one. I never had that problem before I always left my Xbox overnight on sleep mode so the games can download but I got the issue when I wanted to download the full metro trilogy which again I left overnight with my console on sleep mode and when I woke up and checked the download progress it didn't download at all and the error said it's something about my network. It happened multiple times, when I keep my Xbox turned on it's downloading like normal but it stops when I put the console on sleep mode.

Has anyone else's Disney plus app been stuck in an update i can't cancel the update or pause it or even uninstall the app im on a series s if that helps its been like this for a week now tried everything I could think of as a work around tia

I've had this controller for nearly a year and half and it's given me 0 problems. I take care of it and made sure that it's clean.

About 2 weeks ago the A button started occasionally not registering input but it fixed itself before long so I thought nothing of it. A couple hours ago after loading into a game the sticks started going haywire out of nowhere with other issues. Here's what I know:

- Sticks start drifting rapidly in their own direction on Xbox and PC regardless of whether it was connected via usb or is using batteries.

- The controller has issues registering inputs to the point where it sometimes won't respond at all.

- When connected via Batteries, It has alot of issues turning on. (Doesn't always turn on or just struggles to and turns itself off. Tried different batteries and the same batteries a different controller.)

- Tried Blowing into it and using Compressed air.

- Tried Using a Mini Vaccum

- Tried Cleaning it with various utensils and Isopropyl alcohol for debris (Came out spotless)

- Tried Various Stick exercises to try and loosen it or clear anything that might be stuck in.

- Checked for Console Software and Controller Firmware Updates (There were none)

- Reset the Controller using the Xbox and Sync buttons

- Cant Recalibrate it as the controller refuses to follow proper inputs

- Its out of warranty and their isn't anyone very reliable in my area to fix it.

Im currently staying by someone's house and dont have my tools with me but as soon as I return home, I plan on taking it apart and seeing if I can find anything. Mainly posting to check if anyone has had similar issues or if anyone has fix I might not have thought of. Honestly just trying to avoid shelling out a fortune to get a new controller and I dont want to unless I'm 100% that theres nothing that I can do.

Estaba actualizando el firmware desde la aplicación Accesorios de Xbox en Windows 11 y la actualización falló sin desconectar ni mover el cable.

Desde entonces, el mando enciende la luz Xbox durante unos segundos y después se apaga al conectarlo por cable al computador, tengo que presionarlo para volver a encenderlo pero aun así no lo detecta el computador. Lo uso sin pilas, únicamente conectado por micro-USB.

¿Alguien ha conseguido recuperar un mando en estas condiciones? ¿Existe algún método para forzar la recuperación o reinstalar el firmware desde el computador?

Since this past week, I’ve noticed that the achievement pop-up notifications haven’t been appearing as they should. The Xbox logo sometimes goes missing at the beginning of the pop-up, and the animation seems to be dropping frames, making it look janky.

I’m not sure how to fix this. Has anyone else experienced this?

It is 100% the correct Microsoft account and password. I closed the console 3 hours ago and now I cant log in. Am I hacked?

My WiFi works for every other device in my home except for my Xbox One S. If it connects it takes about an hour to do so and causes me to restart the router, but it will be disconnected if the Xbox ever powers down.

I currently use an Xfinity Gateway with 5GHz WiFi. I used to use the old Xfinity X86-T (as that’s the only one that worked with my Xbox 360) also with 5GHz WiFi and that worked flawlessly. Unfortunately I moved and have to use the new Gateway. I’m unsure if any of that is important but wanted to give all the info I could.

Anyway I could better the WiFi with my Xbox? This is getting outrageous and I have roommates so I can’t just be unplugging the router all the time I want to game. Any advice is very much appreciated

I will also say my room is the farthest from the router, possibly an extender would work? Any recommendations for those would be great as well if that would work.

Whenever I try using remote play on my android phone, the resolution is locked to 640 × 480 and I can't select any other option. The aspect ratio is stretched, and instead of having black bars at the sides of my screen, there's a black border around the entire screen, even in fullscreen mode. Games play fine, but they look terrible and it's hard to see what I'm doing. Most text is illegible, unless it's big enough. I don't mind having the black bars at the sides; as long as I can play in fullscreen mode, without any stretching issues and with a resolution of at least 720p, I'll be happy.

Is plays fine and is isnt overheating/doing anythin wrong,is there smth i can do?

I recently got a 4K TV (Samsung M72H, 43") for the purposes of enjoying some recent blockbuster titles like 007 First Light and the upcoming GTA VI. I set up Input Signal Plus in the TV, Game Mode for reduced latency, and I am playing 007 in Performance mode, but I am noticing a bit of input lag that makes the experience uncomfortable.

So far I haven't tried replacing my HDMI cable for a "better" one, today I will be testing other games and browsing the settings in the console to see if there is anything I missed, but I am posting here in case anyone has advice or a similar experience.

Is it the game specifically, or am I missing some setup before I can comfortably play at 4K? I used to play at 1080p before.

I got the system update folder downloaded in an pendrive root folder, swapped the old hdd with an ssd and for some reason it doesn’t let me perform an offline software update, do you know why? SSD is brand new, pendrive is new too, with NTFS format

I tried to transfer a game over from internal to external but got an error saying I needed to clear some space up. Well the message keep spamming and glitching and won’t let me clear it to go in and try. I have reset the console multiple times and the message won’t go away. What do I do???
