Announcement Formatting - Read This Before Posting on This Sub!

Please read all our rules in the sidebar!!

Going forward, we will have a strict formatting system for posts on this sub. This will ensure the sub is easy for readers to use so they can find the books they want to read. Posts that are not formatted correctly will be removed. If your post is removed because of formatting, you are encouraged to revisit this post and try again. We all want to sell books, but like everything in life, following instructions is important. So let's get to it:

Post flairs are mandatory - We now have a genre flair system. By flairing your posts, it allows readers to search our sub by genre. When selecting a flair, pick the one that best represents your book. DON'T WORRY IF IT ISN'T YOUR EXACT NICHE GENRE. Pick the genre under which your book's specific niche falls. You'll be adding your more specific niche genre in your title. The flairs just help narrow down the search for our readers. If you don't see your book's genre listed, please message the mods and tell us your genre so we can add it to our system.

Post titles - Format your titles like so: "Book Title - specific niche genre - Available on Kindle Unlimited/Vella." (skip the last part if your book is NOT on KU or Vella)

  • EX: "Alex's Great Adventure - YA Steampunk Historical Fantasy Romance - Available on Kindle Unlimited"

Post body - Post bodies should include the following: 1-3 line pitch, blurb, trope list, and trigger warnings. NOTICE THAT I DIDN'T LIST PRICE. Prices will not be listed on ANY POSTS as an incentive to buy your book. That means sales and discounts as well. The point of this sub is not to promote your sales. This is supposed to be a catalog of books available for purchase. If you listed your book here as free, but it was only free for 3 days, and a reader clicks on it two weeks later expecting it to be free, and it no longer is... you see the problem? In this sub, strive to pull your readers in with your pitches and blurbs. As authors, you should be able to do that. I have faith in you.

Art/Covers - Do not upload your covers or promotional material directly into your posts! Use imgur.com (or your favorite image hosting site) and include a link to your cover at the very top of your post. Feel free to use imgur to include promotional material instead of your covers, BUT only one image per post is allowed so choose wisely.

Format post bodies like so:

  • Link for cover/promotional material.
  • 1-3 line pitch
  • blurb (this can be copied and pasted straight from your product description on whichever site you're selling your book)
  • List of tropes - ex: "enemies to lovers," "chosen one," "fated mates," etc.
  • Trigger Warnings! Please, please, please include TW in your posts. They are pretty much standard practice for a reason. They protect readers from consuming material they don't want to read which also helps protect authors from negative reviews. It's a win-win.
  • Link to your product. Don't forget to include your link at the bottom of the post! Universal links are encouraged but not required. Only links to product pages are allowed. No PDFs, Google Docs, etc.
  • Do not include reviews or sample chapters in your posts!

Mark any NSFW material! Erotic authors, please tag your posts appropriately.

For an example of what a properly formatted post looks like, see mine here.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment here or message the mods.

Adult - Contemporary Fiction The Chrono-Engineer's Manifesto - Hard Science Fiction / Speculative Fiction

• Upvotes

Hey everyone; I’ve been working on this book for what feels like an eternity. It’s called The Chrono-Engineer's Manifesto: Architecture of the Void, External Tension, and the Fractal Clock; and I finally hit publish on Lulu. I honestly lost track of how many hours, endless rewrites, and late nights went into building this world; it almost feels weird to finally let people see it.

The core idea revolves around multiversal mechanics, cosmology, and a non-linear universe driven by dynamic tension; so if you are into deep sci-fi, math, or complex world-building, I think you might find it interesting. It's a 356-page hardcover project and it's officially live now.

Thanks so much for reading; and I'd love to know what you think if you decide to dive into the void.

I've recently published The Laws of the Unnatural, a collection of short stories exploring unusual ideas, strange situations and the darker, more unexpected sides of life.

I wanted to write stories that leave room for interpretation, allowing readers to find their own meanings and take something different from each one.

If you enjoy short fiction that explores the unusual and steps outside the ordinary, you might find something to enjoy here.

ARE YOU HEROES OR PREY?

For many years, the Guardians of Saint Avastead have watched over the cold lonely town: loyal and noble souls whose Gifts have helped defend their home. More than a team, they are a family.

This winter, a new enemy has come for them.

Cautious. Cruel. Calculating. The opponent built an armor. Studied their abilities. Made a plan. All to defeat the Guardians one by one, strip them of their identities as heroes, take the Gifts of all who stand in the way, and tear apart the family they refuse to lose.

This is the story of how I joined her side.

Tropes: Superpower, fights, romance out of conflict, cerebral fights, strategies, heroine, adventure

TW: Violence, fictional but harsh language, bodily injury

Adult - Romance - Fantasy My debut fantasy novel - Whisper of a Blade, Colors of Flame

Hello guys, I published my first book on amazon some time ago and I am looking for new readers and I appreciate the feedback regarding the book.

I will link the description from Amazon, so you guys know what it is about.

Whisper of a Blade, Colors of Flame is the debut novel by rising author Zvonimir Mandić - a captivating blend of epic fantasy, philosophical reflection, and deep emotional resonance that invites readers into a world where the line between right and wrong is blurred, and redemption is a journey forged in flame.
At its heart is Arendiel, an elite assassin born of a powerful family that was cast out after the great war from the ancient and revered continent of Inglorien. He serves under his ambitious and cunning uncles who are manipulating the kingdoms of Denelurias, preparing them for war. The ambition and thirst for power of the protagonist open the gates of his downfall. The mission he takes unveils the unknown darkness of his clan. Once certain of his path and the cold precision of his blade, Arendiel begins to feel the weight of years spent burying his guilt. As his internal struggles rise to the surface, so too does a quiet rebellion in his soul - one that questions loyalty, purpose, and the very nature of redemption.
But Arendiel’s journey is not one of clear-cut good versus evil. It is a path paved with conflicting truths, shaken values, and the haunting realization that understanding is born not from certainty, but from embracing uncertainty. Alongside characters like Niscinia, a voice of perspective and insight, and Netherin, who mirrors the protagonist’s inner battles, the story unveils multiple sides of the conflict, challenging readers to see the world through different eyes. Arendiel begins to see the world not in the absolutes of right and wrong, but in the shifting colors of fire and shadow. Each voice brings a new truth, each choice a new weight. And in a land where even hope casts a shadow, every step forward could be his undoing or his salvation.
This is a fantasy novel with no heroes in shining armor, only complex souls seeking meaning in a world unraveling at the seams. A story that strips away the myth of good and evil and reveals something deeper: that fantasy is not a way to escape reality, but a way to face it.
Whisper of a Blade, Colors of Flame is not merely an escape from reality, but a mirror that reflects the deepest corners of the human experience. It is a call to adventure, a meditation on guilt and grace, and a tribute to the power of storytelling itself.

Hope you guys will give the book a change, and if you do please feel free to give me a feedback.

Adult - Fantasy Halo of Ashes, my dark fantasy novel, is $0.99 (GBP 0.99 UK) until 21 October

I'm the author of Halo of Ashes, a dark fantasy epic that blends post-apocalyptic worldbuilding with grimdark military fiction and the psychological depth of literary fantasy.

It's a world where bullets are currency, Burt is a prophet, and the things buried underground are worth more than the living who walk above them.

If you enjoyed The First Law, The Stormlight Archive, Prince of Thorns or The Name of the Wind, it may be for you.

Happy to answer questions about the book. A rating or review helps a lot if you read it.

Adult - Romance - Contemporary Published my debut novel. Got my first reader and I'm so thrilled!!

I had this massive idea of exploring relationship dynamics between two whole people. I mean people who are self-sufficient and competent.

I wondered: will a story like that even work? Will a relationship like that work without constant drama?

Imagine a romance without power imbalance, codependency, family interference, or external turbulence. I wanted to see what happens when we silence some of these contexts.

What resulted was a character-driven, slow-burn romance series featuring an analytical couple.

Two guarded individuals: one who rejects people and one who questions everyone.

Roman filters people without a second guess. But an encounter with Sarah during an otherwise ordinary seminar unexpectedly sparks his attention.

Sarah Millers has no idea Roman Blackford doesn't do subtle—or that he'll propose marriage before either of them has said a real word to each other.

What begins as curiosity for Roman soon turns into his certainty. Sarah, however, needs proof before she believes his declarations. So instead of a simple acceptance or rejection, she brings him a contract.

Set in the world of business and finance, follow their journey as they navigate each other. Basically, a romance that feels chosen rather than something that just happens.

I got my first reader here on Reddit and I'm very curious to know if my book interests anyone else, too!

A Choice – Terms of Interest is now available on Amazon Kindle. Paperback will also soon be available.

Adult - Science Fiction Heralds Of The Cemi

Hey everyone! I'm Luis M. Minier, an independent author from NYC, and I recently published my novel, Heralds of the Cemí.

The story follows JC Cabral, a young Dominican-American sound engineer living in the Bronx who discovers a strange eight-second signal buried beneath the everyday sounds of his neighborhood.

What begins as an unexplained sound leads him into his family's history, an ancestral Taíno inheritance, and a powerful organization that has spent generations exploiting something most people don't even know exists.

At its heart, the novel explores family, cultural identity, neurodivergence, and what happens when people who experience the world differently discover that those differences matter.

I wanted to create something rooted in the Dominican diaspora, the history we carry, and the communities that raised us, while telling a supernatural story that could reach readers from any background.

I'd genuinely appreciate anyone interested in checking it out.

Non-Fiction Power of Staying with Ambiguity : Staying with ambiguity, uncertainty is discomforting for the mind. Once you rest with this discomfort – whole energy is here.

We avoid facing fundamental resistance which life presents to us time and again when we encounter discomforting, irritating, confusing situations.

Why you have to face the resistance? Not the answer but simply being with the resistance ‘as it is’- is the key. If there is no resistance, there is no life. Once you see this, totality takes over.

Queen Neea was supposed to be Averleigh’s last kill, the final slip she’d been yearning to make since fleeing the battlefield and her sinister past seven and a half years ago, but she turned out to be more than just another target…

I wrote this book in 2022 in less than a month. It took me ages to edit it, though. And it took me ages to finally part with it and let it see the world.

It's funny. It's adventurous. It's epic. And it's a heart-wrenching story that will probably turn me as mad as the main character when I complete the series.

I do hope someone here will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

You can find it on Amazon. The book's name is The Snake that Can Be Loved

Adult - Romance - Science Fiction Welp, it's been a JOURNEY

Hi Reddit,

Earlier this year I read a quote that I'm going to badly paraphrase as: "If nobody invites you to the table, pull up a chair of your own" and it really resonated.

I had some success in trad publishing. Got picked up by two small presses in the mid 2010s. Pivoted to a different genre and signed with an agent. My book didn't sell on the first round so agent communication became sporadic, and when the second round came and passed, so did any chance of feedback on new projects. I spent a year in limbo and then asked to part ways.

To be honest, my self-esteem was pretty shot. I'd had an idea for a pretty ambitious science fantasy novel with a strong romantic subplot, and I kept trying to put it off, because how can an author who can't even keep their agent's interest write a complex and genre-blendy novel?

But I couldn't stop thinking about it. The action of Red Rising, with a stronger romantic subplot, female rage, and magic. The Hunger Games, yet planetwide. A touch of Dune.

Fortunately, my two writing groups cheered me on. I ran plot twists and synopses and chapters past them. I scrapped 30,000 words of crap-draft. I world-built and daydreamed and considered how best to kill my darlings, and a few side-characters too. When I finished the third draft, I let it rest for months because I had another attack of "am I good enough?" Then I came back to it, edited more, ran the latest draft past more eyes...and half-heartedly decided to enter the query trenches.

Well, I think some part of me got broken or something. I can 100% take criticism. I'm that weirdo who enjoys edit letters. CPs and betas who point out problems are amazing in my eyes. But there's some aspect about a wall of silence and form rejections that I couldn't deal with. Plus I was super leery about landing another agent who'd start pulling back/ghosting if my first book didn't sell.

So I began reading everything I could about self-publishing. Shout-out to the self-pub subreddit! I found a cover artist and stipulated no AI. I also paid for professional formatting. Then I began teaching myself Canva. I sent out ARCs four weeks before publication. I signed up to a coop on NetGalley, got my book on BookSirens, and on BookSprout. No real success with the two latter, but I got over 100 requests on NG. I expected reviews to flay me because I heard they can be harsh. To my surprise, I got a fairly decent response rate of over 20%, and a mixture of 5, 4, 3, and two 2 stars. A handful cross-posted to GoodReads but sadly only two (so far?!) made it to Amazon.

My novel went live on Wednesday and I've actually made a handful of sales.

More importantly, I'm still going. I've failed so many times. I'll probably fail more. And yet I've pulled my own chair up to the table. Maybe I'm eating scraps at one end but dammit, I'm here.

I am Eve Hollenbeck, and I wrote a damn book. My novel, The Taming, is available on KU: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HKTNJ2SS

Non-Fiction My Heart In Book Form - the most important thing I've ever written

I've spent 16 years working in publishing, writing, editing, and helping other people bring their stories into the world.

Along the way, I've learned a lot about writing. I've also learned that plenty of the advice we give writers assumes they have resources that not everyone has: consistent energy, predictable schedules, uninterrupted time, and the ability to focus whenever they choose.

That's not everyone's reality.

It certainly isn't my reality or the reality for other writers navigating ADHD, chronic illness, disability, big families, little children, 60-hour work weeks, or brain fog.

I wanted to create something for those writers. Not another set of rules to follow or another productivity system to feel guilty about abandoning, but a practical resource for finding a way to create that fits your life.

That's why I wrote The Messy Writer: Creating Stories When Your Brain Has 47 Tabs Open.

If you've ever felt like the writing world wasn't built with you in mind, I hope this book helps you find a different way forward.

Available now as an ebook, with the paperback edition coming soon.

Non-Fiction I’ve written my first book, and finally published it!

I’ve reached what I consider to be an important personal milestone by releasing my memoir about secret crossdressing through my childhood, adolescence and early adult years. I have worked on it for several years, trying to capture the rawness of my emotional struggles and the effects it’s had on some of the most important people in my life.

This is the first book I’ve ever written (and rewritten several times). I want to hopefully expand on to a second book, but would be interested and grateful for any feedback or reviews you would be able to offer me.

The book follows me growing up in 1990s England, when the fear of rejection within section 28 was very real. It explores what started as a fixation as a young child, to first encounters as a teenager, to changing opportunities as I got older.

Adult - Romance - Contemporary Paper Towels and Promises - Steamy cont romance full of banter

Amazon Kindle - Paper Towels and Promises

This is my debut novel, just released!

"Lily has a few simple rules for her fresh start: find a better job, build a life she loves, and stay far away from romantic complications.

Then she meets Evan Taylor.

He's charming. He's persistent. He's entirely too pleased with himself.

And worst of all? He's funny.

What starts with a chance encounter in a dollar store turns into teasing conversations, unexpected dates, and the kind of chemistry that makes it increasingly difficult for Lily to remember why she was avoiding men in the first place.

Evan, meanwhile, has discovered that winning Lily's heart might require patience, a sense of humor, and the occasional willingness to admit defeat.

He's reasonably confident about two of those.

But beneath Lily's quick comebacks and carefully guarded independence is a woman still learning that not every relationship comes with strings attached. And Evan is about to discover that sometimes the hardest part of loving someone isn't getting close.

It's giving them room to choose you.

Funny, flirty, and full of heart, Paper Towels and Promises is a contemporary romance about unexpected love, second chances, and two stubborn people who might just be perfect for each other."

It's steamy, explicit, 4/5 spicy scale, with tender romantic moments and chemistry that reviewers like.

Please consider reading and forwarding your feedback to me!

Accountant Isekai Book 1

The world is in peril. And the answer isn't a hero of swords and shields, but of numbers and sound money making sense.

Gustav was a normal, everyday...no, wait, he was a completely insane accountant, then he died. Fortunately for him, it wasn't the pearly gates that awaited, but the God of Humanity, a deity who was just as crazy as him.
