Murloc Monday Murloc Monday - ask your questions here

Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!

That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.

Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?

Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.

Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!

You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!

Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.

Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you're returning after a very long break, check out the Wowhead Returning Players Guides.

WoW: Forever Invite-A-Friend Code Megathread

EDIT: Putting this on top so it doesn't get missed. For the sake of usability of the thread. Please don't post a top level comment if you need a code and only if you have codes to give away. Your comment will be removed and nobody will see it. I've already removed 8 of them. Respond to people offering codes.

Instead of spamming the subreddit with posts, if you have an invite a friend code as a top level comment. Make sure to note the region since codes are unusable across regions. People can reply to the comment and DM them (that way they don't get scraped up by bots).

Once you've given out all your codes edit your comment that its done.

If you're looking for a code your best bet is to sort by new.

To keep this thread usable please only post if you have a code to giveaway. Top level comments asking for codes will be removed

A few notes:

  • These codes are 7 day trials. You can only redeem one code per account so collecting them doesn't give you more time.

  • You only need a subscription to play long term. You do NOT need to buy any of the Forever Bundles.

  • Do NOT give any personal info as part of this. You should mostly just be getting the code. They do not need your email, battletag, or anything else.

Fluff Undaunted, the Deaf Guild, has achieved AOTC on both EU and NA!

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

We didn't post during Season 1, but we're back again with a late AOTC post!

Undaunted now has three progression raid teams (2 on EU, 1 on NA) and all three have achieved AOTC. This has been a rough expansion for our raid teams and the roster boss hasn't shown us any mercy during this tier.

As always, Undaunted may be a guild primarily oriented for deaf players, but we are an inclusive community who welcome all who wish to play without voice chat. If you'd like to be a part of a voiceless raid team or are a casual player who just misses the days when in-game guild chat was lively, our doors are always open! You can find us at discord.gg/undaunted

Question Why does Chi fall on this chart in Spirit?

Post image
• Upvotes

I know Spirit and monk Deities are all elementally bound, but how? Just on a lore standpoint it sounds like, in the dumbest way I can describe, harnessing the elements. But yourself being the element?

Am I understanding that?

Or is there more to it. I read the alot ingame and wiki wise and cant really reach much further. Anyone else have more they could fill me in with?

I totally could be over thinking it too, I'm sure lol

It doesn't do him justice, but I felt inspired to carve a jack-o-lantern of Yogg-Saron this year. My fingers are sore from pushing in all the toothpicks I used for his teeth.

Complaint Venomstones are an unnecessary grind

10 for an item it's just way too much. You can argue, that we got a stockpile of them last time at the end of the season, but let's take a look at this situation if you not a one trick and have an army of alts

I'm personally playing regularly on 5 different classes, so for full upgrade, not even taking in consideration potential replacements for some of them, it's 250 Venomstones.

250 RAID BOSSES/MYTHIC DUNGEONS/DELVES/PREY'S and last 2 are even limited by how much you can get per week

Not everyone has that much time and willing to grind for something like that, which is kinda mandatory if you willing to push higher or get into better groups

I can understand grind for some unique cosmetics (which is also sometimes absolutely stupid, looking at you, beautiful coat from Undermine), but grinding so much for an ilvl midseason is just bad...

Overall, this season was full of really bad decisions, which I hope will be taken in consideration in the future (beating a dead horse of bonus rolls in vault)

Sry for potential mistakes, English is my 4th language, at least you know, that it's not AI xD

Art [I Made] My LEGO version of Stormwind's gate and towers, side by side with the in-game view

Post image
497 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm building a giant LEGO diorama inspired by World of Warcraft. This is Stormwind's main gate and towers, with the in-game view on the right for comparison. The bottom row shows Goldshire and a front view of the build. It's still a work in progress, so I'd love to hear what you think!

(English isn't my first language, so I used AI to help translate this text. The build and the photos are all mine; I only removed the background for clarity.)

Discussion Valeera in labyrinth being mildly a nuisance to anyone?

Hi everyone, I’m not sure if this is Blizzard’s intentions with the npc or not but I noticed that Valeera has been pulling extra npcs that I wanted to, (not on tank mode) or if I’m on the last boss of the chamber she somehow gets ported to pull one or two mobs and pulls them back to the boss, which is starting to get annoying. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or not, but I have a feeling that she’s going to be highly annoying in higher labyrinth delve levels especially when you’re trying to achieve it without losing 0 lives.

Discussion What did you like about BfA? This is a safe space.

Genuinely perplexed by all the hate BfA gets. I'd love to hear what people enjoyed about the expansion, even if they ultimately consider it one of WoW's worst. What do you think it got right, and what aspects do you feel are overhated?

I know this might be controversial, but I genuinely miss the old WoW dailies. Sure, they were repetitive, but they provided a clear sense of progression and made sense to me.

I also loved that certain, albeit very limited, aspects of the game were locked behind PvP. I'd never really done PvP before BfA, but my friends and I decided to give it a shot, and it's one of the reasons we still cherish the memories of playing the expansion together.

And then there's the aesthetics, music, and overall theme of the expansion. To me, it was perfect.

BfA had its flaws, obviously, but there's a lot about it that I look back on fondly. I'm curious to hear what others enjoyed about it, even if they ultimately disliked the expansion.

Discussion The hate

I'm new to retail wow. I have played on and off for a few years but only lasted a week or two because I was too lost lol. I recently decided I would hop back in and really take my time to learn the game, and I'm having a blast. From pvp to raiding it's awesome, it's been 2 months and I'm still loving it. I Recently started trying to climb to 1800cr in solo shuffle. Anyway when I'm really into something I love to consume content about that thing but I noticed that every other video on retail wow is super negative, such as the game is dying or forever is going to kill retail and a big thing I see is that retail is not new player friendly. but I think what these large content creators don't see is that their content is also not new player friendly it constantly fear mongers about how the game is dying or sucks for some reason, and I can see that also pushing new players away. I just want to watch cool retail videos but if you search up retail wow half the videos are about how bad certain content creators think the game is.

Discussion With the new, faster patch cycle, it's safe to cut down on the retention mechanics.

Upgrade tracks, crests, turbo boosts made a ton of sense back in the early days of the Worldsoul Saga before Blizzard started churning out TONS of content to play through.

It gave little, artificial, incremental progress for all types of players, but now that we have so much content coming out with the .5, .7 patches every season I don't think these heavily timegated systems are needed anymore.

There's plenty of things to do in game now without needing to worry about weekly crest caps and turbo boost mechanics!
