As in title. I can get behind video essays and lore videos, but random gameplay rolls and let's play videos are even less discussion-inducing than the low-effort artworks and cosplays banned under the Rule 5. If these are banned, surely we can do something about the YouTube spam, eh?

It's been years since I read The Lady of the Lake and I was just thinking back on it, when a lingering question came back from all those years ago.

Unlike most of the other books, the Lady of the Lake is told through a framing device. Ciri is telling the story to Sir Galahad.

The part after Geralt and Yen's death in Rivia, when they wake up on the Isle of Avallach feels odd, like it just comes out of nowhere. Which got me thinking. Is the Isle of Avallach an example of an unreliable narrator? As in id Geralt and Yennefer's happily ever after ending something Ciri made up for Sir Galahad's benefit?

Droga ku zagładzie.

Miłego oglądania!❤️

Okay so, I was just entertaining myself on my own, writing fanfics and storylines and new houses with blending some elements of the Witcher. Basically, I imagined it as another sphere in the Witcher, it has different countries, cities, noble houses and kingdoms. One of my OCs, House of Apotheci, rises from peasantry to one of the most prominent banking dynasties of all time and funds kings and wars. Then, there is House of Ostendorfs that mirrors House of Habsburg, whose twins were born as strigas, etc.

Then, I wondered about the structure of the Witcher's spheres and wondered whether this exact scenario and OCs of mine could exist in a sphere of the Witcher. At first, it seemed very plausible since I thought the spheres were infinite and contained infinite amount of possibilities, then I was told they didn't work in that way. Now, I began to wonder how does it work. Is it like: even if my whole scenario isn't a part of the spheres, there is a sphere that families similar to my ideas exist?

Do each sphere have their own laws, physics, characters etc? In this case, then all OCs, fanfics, scenarios and ideas are basically within the Witcher multiverse.

Does he ever say anything specific about it? Does he think the political and social systems of his era need to change or does he largely accept them, like it is what it is.

XD

To bezsprzecznie najlepszy film z całej serii jaką nakręciłem. Polecam gorąco!

Ten remaster ma dziwne kolory na ps5 🤔

I was reading the first The Witcher book and got to the short story A Grain of Truth. I really enjoyed it, but one scene left me scratching my head. After Geralt leaves Nivellen's house and sleeps in the forest, he hears screams and singing, and sees a campfire in the distance. The next morning, he goes to check the spot and finds only footprints and a campfire with the remains of burned bones. Near the clearing, he notices a creature howling, but can't identify it and decides not to stick around to find out. This scene confused me. Based on the narrative, I expected it to be another victim of Vereena, the bruxa, but I couldn't find a clear connection between the two. Why would Vereena burn her victim this time, but leave the merchant and his daughter lying by the road earlier? If it was to avoid detection, she didn't seem too worried about it before, since she was singing and torturing her victim while letting them scream. Speaking of the singing, when Geralt returns to Nivellen's house, he hears Vereena singing again, but no connection is made to the song he heard the night before. Geralt mentions he couldn't understand the words, but could feel its evil nature. If it was Vereena the previous night, why didn't Geralt sense that same presence back then? Also, the creature at the top of the tree in the clearing didn't seem to spook Geralt's horse the way Vereena's presence usually did. When discussing this with my friends who also read the book, they all said it was obvious to them that it was Vereena in that forest scene. But to me, it didn't feel obvious at all. I guess it probably was her, because if not, what would be the purpose of that scene? Still, it feels like a very odd situation to me. Do you guys have similar thoughts, or am I on my own here?

The scoia'tael or the order of flaming rose? I read half of the first witcher book the last wish so i dont know the gravity of the choices but i , on my first playthrough rn, decided to side with The order. Reason being, the scoai'tael were acting like terrorists. I understand that they were oppressed and excluded but to me their actions soo far have been just fighting for a lost cause purely out of spite, robbing banks, taking innocent people as hostages n stuff.

The order of the other didnt indulge in such stuff afaik. Siegfried is a pretty good guy. The order in general seems to just be holding things and maintaining them. Meanwhile going neutral, geralt wouldve had twice as many enemies. Didnt seem a pragmatic move to me

What did you guys choose? I just hate being confronted that i sided with the order and they butchering people (i didnt expect those imbeciles to kill innocents asw.)
