This may be a controversial take but I'm curious to see if anyone agrees with me. Because of the remakes specifically, I find I MUCH prefer Warcraft 1 to Warcraft 2?

I played WC2 as a kid, but never played 1 or 3, so I have a lot of fond memories of WC2. But my God so many of the way the units function and even the way maps are designed I am finding SO frustrating.

Whereas in WC1, it was only really the end of the human campaign that I felt a bit lacking - otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed the whole game. I am wondering how I found the patience to play all of WC2 as a child, because now I am strongly considering just moving on to 3 (which I'm very excited to play).

Specifically all of the ship combat I find so annoying, but also the sheer amount of units that deal splash damage to your own units is truly frustrating. Like yay, great, I have dragons. Too bad if you have a group of more than 6 they all kill each other when you're trying to use them?

TL;DR: At least when it comes to the remakes, I am finding I enjoy WC1 way more than WC2. Does anyone else feel the same way? Should I just move on to 3?
