ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project Vibe-coded a Terminal Emulatort in C for Wayland (144 sessions, 200k context via local Strata)

Post image
1 Upvotes

I wanted to see what https://github.com/Niko1221/Strata could achieve, So I started this little project. Entirely local with shell access, No web search. started with 32k context and quickly realize it wasn't enough, Then I bumped to 64k, still ran out too quick, went on for 128k for a while and then pushed it to 200k. It took over 144 session to get to where we are right now.

The goal was to have a terminal Emulator that would directly include my favorites features from other different Terminal without having to swap between them there's still more to add to it, but now it's to a point where I feel It usable and can replace kitty from my Machine.

It's made in C and Only works on Wayland.

Two main feature :

- Integrated File Explorer that shows file preview and with full mouse support for navigation. Can send a file path directly to the prompt. Planning to make that part a real File Manager that would let you create, edit, move or copy file.

- Multiplexing with Tabs and side by side view. Planning to add the possibility to keep a process alive when you close the windows

Here's the repo if you want to take a look / try

IdeaValidation - Feedback on my idea/project Title: Recruiters, what's the most frustrating part of screening candidates today?

Hey everyone! I'm building NexHire, a hiring platform that combines JD generation, CV parsing and ranking, and interview workflows. I'm also testing beta AI voice interviews and features that flag possible copy-paste or AI-assisted answers for review.

Before I build more, I'd love some honest feedback:

What's your biggest headache: too many irrelevant CVs, verifying candidates' actual skills, AI-generated applications, chasing candidates, scheduling interviews, or something else?

What do existing ATS or AI recruiting tools still get wrong?

I'm looking for a few recruiters or users willing to test NexHire on a real or anonymized batch of CVs and tell me honestly what works and what doesn't.

Product: https://nex-hire-nu.vercel.app/

No sugar-coating needed. I'd genuinely appreciate the feedback!

Lessons you learned during vibe codding

Hello fellows. I've developed a few tools which required at certain scenarios in my life and after every finished product I learned somethin new, which become helpful for me to develop the next tool. I'm happy with experience I've gain so far, but experience of others can help me to learn more. So, what's the amazing thing you learned during your vibe codding. What tools you find helpful, what kind of prompt optimisations do you know. Let's make this post another place of sharing our experience with each other.

109 93 704.1K 8.2K Have to remove 3 more startups because they removed the code. It’s hard watching people leave something you’re building from scratch, especially when you’re giving it everything you have. I’m already working on what’s not working. I know things need to change, and I’m trying to figure it all out. I’m broke. No friends to lean on, no love to come home to. Just me, my dreams, and the belief that all this will mean something someday. I’ll succeed one day. And when I do, I hope my family finally understands why I spent so much time locked in my room, working silently on a life that existed only in my imagination. One day, it’ll all make sense. Until then, I keep building. 🖤

118 94 742.8K 8.5K Removed 1 startup

Still free. Still growing.

If you want in, it's one embed. That's it → StartupBar
**Bid on StartupBid and your startup will be featured in the daily post of mine.**

ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project I used Codex to turn my game’s existing artwork into a two-minute lore video

I’m working on a Mahabharata card game, and lately I’ve been trying to figure out distribution alongside actually finishing the game. We already have a lot of artwork and short character videos, so I wanted to see whether I could use coding agents to turn those existing assets into something worth watching.

This is a two-minute video about the Brahmastra, built with Codex using JavaScript and Canvas, then rendered through Playwright and FFmpeg. No narration. The story comes through text, paintings, diagrams and music. Most of the artwork already existed in our story chapters. We created one missing scene for the film.

It took a few rounds to get right. The first draft only showed the weapon’s tip, some portraits were cropped badly, and the story needed more context. My part was deciding what belonged in the story, checking the visuals and giving feedback on pacing and readability. Codex handled the composition code and rendering. Once I was happy with it, we saved the workflow as a reusable skill.

Sharing the result here because I’m curious whether anyone else is using coding agents for this part of building a game. Happy to share more about the process, the iterations, or the reusable skill we saved if anyone’s interested.

ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project ESP32 12V Fan control, settings over WiFi

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I'm an embedded software engineer so my friend asked me whether I could do a fan controller, whic has a "thermostat" inside or whatever regulation, so he could cool it's home media server with PC fans powered from 12V PSU.

Right now I managed to do it within 1 hour, incudling soldering. I don't have any thermo meter right now, so I've just using the internal temperature of ESP32 as temperature source for fan(s).

It's just a simple ESP32 with PWM controller to a BD139 transistor, which regulates the 12V, plus STA and AP mode for setting up WiFi connection and a settings/monitoring page over WiFi.

Thank to vibe coding it was pretty fun. Otherwise the webpage design would took plenty of hours.

I'm planning to make it work over 12V only, but I have to order components as I can't regulate down 12V to 5V to supply my ESP32 right now. So ESP32 has to be powered over USB. The fan is powered over a 12V PSU. Also using a proper thermo meter would make sense, but I only had a K-probe at home, which can't be connected directly to ESP32. The final goal is to add around 4-5 fans.

ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project I wanted a free Pixel Art creator, so I built one! OxyPixel was born!

I wanted a simple pixel editor that opens instantly and doesn't get in the way, so I built OxyPixel. It's written in Rust and runs on Windows and Linux.

What it does right now:

  • Layers, animation frames with playback, and onion skinning
  • Export to PNG, GIF, and sprite sheets (with 2× and 4× scaling)
  • Palette import and export (GIMP .gpl, Lospec .hex, JASC .pal)
  • Copy and paste through the system clipboard, so you can paste images in from other apps
  • A Windows installer or portable exe, and a Linux .deb or tar.gz

Full disclosure: I directed and reviewed the work, but a lot of the code was written with AI coding agents. The repo includes the roadmap and agent guide I use, if you're curious how that works.

It's early and rough around the edges, so I'd really like feedback on what's missing or broken.

ReleaseTheFeature – Announce your app/site/tool I built a tool that creates & animates beautiful voxel 3d models for you

I’ve been coding games for years, and they all hit the same wall: the art. I can write the systems, but whenever a project needed 3D models that didn’t look terrible, it stalled and quietly died.

So I stopped fighting that and spent the last few months building a tool for it instead. It’s called BlockImagine, and now its live.

How it works: you type what you want, for example “a friendly red fox” or “an old tower windmill with a red roof”. A few minutes later you get a voxel 3D model with a hand-painted pixel texture, a skeleton and a matching animation. If something’s off, you just say so: “make the tail bigger”, “slow down the wagging”. Each change becomes a new version, so you can always go back.

What comes out of it:

  • Real box geometry with a clear silhouette, not the usual melted AI blob
  • Crisp pixel textures that don’t get blurry
  • A proper bone hierarchy with animations like idle or swim
  • GLB/glTF export (tested in Godot 4 and Unity 6), or .bbmodel if you want to keep tweaking in Blockbench
  • Optional photo or sketch input as a reference

You can try it for free!

What I’d really like to hear from you: if you put one of these models into your own engine and an actual game, how does it hold up? What breaks, what’s missing, what would make it useful for your project? Honest feedback is very welcome and im always looking for early testers.

ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project Check out Nachtschacht — my free, turn-based dungeon roguelike for desktop and mobile browsers!

Thumbnail benbenis.itch.io
2 Upvotes

Nachtschacht was developed through an iterative collaboration between me and ChatGPT/Codex. I provided the ideas, creative direction, asset collection, and playtesting feedback. ChatGPT wrote most of the game’s code and also contributed text, content suggestions, and technical solutions.

My contribution

I wanted a dark, pixel-art, turn-based dungeon roguelike where characters begin with very weak stats, gain experience, find equipment, and lose everything when they die. I collected third-party graphics, music, and sound packs and specified the direction I wanted for the game.

During development, I played builds and gave feedback on the controls, readability, inventory, camera movement, appearance, and overall feel. For example, I requested keyboard-focused controls, an inventory that stays open when equipping items, a simpler grayscale pixel interface, and an adapted portrait touch interface for mobile.

Programming and implementation

I described the desired behavior in plain language, and ChatGPT implemented and revised it in Godot using GDScript. This included procedural dungeon generation, turn-based combat, enemy behavior, equipment, relics, talents, character progression, permanent death, saving and loading, menus, and desktop and mobile controls.

ChatGPT also proposed mechanics and implementation choices. We refined the game through repeated requests, discussion, testing, and changes.

Writing and game content

ChatGPT drafted or revised item names, descriptions, tutorial instructions, interface text, and atmospheric writing. It also helped develop equipment effects and balancing, translated the game into English, and assisted with the store-page description.

Graphics and audio

Most graphics and audio come from third-party asset packs that I collected. Their sources and licenses are documented in the game and release package.

Some additional artwork—including replacement relic cards, equipment silhouettes, interface elements, and the title logo—was drawn procedurally through code written by ChatGPT. A few short replacement sound effects were synthesized through code as well.

Testing and release preparation

ChatGPT wrote and ran automated tests, simulated gameplay, inspected interface layouts, and prepared the Windows and browser exports. I provided feedback from playing earlier builds, while the assistant checked technical behavior and browser layouts.

AI was used during development. The finished game uses conventional game logic for combat, enemies, and procedural generation.

i pay for claude + codex + a couple others and kept opening each one to see how much i had left, so i made a little strip that sits on the edge of my mac and shows all of them at once (free, lmk if its useful)

i kept getting cut off mid build because i never checked my limits (every tool hides usage somewhere different and i was too lazy to go look lol)

there's a bunch of menu bar trackers already but they're all one icon you click, and i wanted to see everything without doing anything, so i made this for myself

it's a thin strip on the right edge of the screen, one ring per subscription, all in view at once. hover a ring for the exact % and when it resets. works with claude, codex, cursor, copilot, gemini, grok, ollama and a few more

(it just uses the logins those tools already have on your mac, so there's no account and nothing goes through me)

totally free, macOS 14+

if you pay for something that isn't on it lmk and i'll add it

ShowoffZone - Flexing my latest project Looking for people to test my hosting!

Looking for a few vibecoders to test our managed deployment platform

I’m opening a small number of free pilot spots for people building real projects with AI-assisted coding tools.

If you have a website, SaaS, portfolio, internal tool, API, or small web application that you want to deploy properly, I’d like to help you get it online and learn from the process.

The platform includes isolated container environments, HTTPS, backups, monitoring, and a guided GitHub-based deployment flow. You keep ownership of your code and project.

Who this is for

  • You have a real project that is already working locally or close to launch.
  • You expect at least 50–100 visits per month, or have a concrete group of users who will test it.
  • You can use GitHub and are comfortable making small deployment-related changes when needed.
  • You are willing to give honest feedback about the onboarding, documentation, and hosting experience.
  • You can keep the project active for at least 30 days.

Basic requirements

  • The project must be legal and safe to host.
  • No cryptocurrency mining, spam, scraping at abusive scale, malware, phishing, adult content, or resource-intensive workloads.
  • The application must run in Docker or be adaptable to a container-based deployment.
  • We will agree on resource limits before deployment; this is a pilot, so it is best suited to small projects.
  • Access is limited to your own project repository and environment. You will not receive server-level access.
  • You remain responsible for your application code, user data, and legal/privacy obligations.

What I’m looking for in exchange

Real-world usage, bug reports, friction points, and a short review after the pilot. I am especially interested in projects built by solo developers, indie hackers, and people experimenting with AI-assisted development.

If interested, reply with:

  1. What you are building
  2. Your stack, if known
  3. Whether it already runs locally
  4. Expected traffic or number of testers
  5. A GitHub link, demo, or short description

I’ll select a small number of projects so I can provide proper support.

how much do you trust your clade?

hallo everyone! i used to code everything myself, but over the past 7 months or so i've fully embraced spec driven AI development, even for professional work.

i trust claude a plot, but sometimes i wonder what happens if it introduces some vulnerability i don't catch, leaks sensitive data, or breaks something in prod.

like, im responsible for it because in theory i wrote it, even though i didnt if that makes any sense.

for those of you shipping AI-generated code professionally, do you actually worry about this stuff? have any of you gotten insurance, or do you just accept the risk? how do you mitigate it?

SensAI is live - secure AI coding assistant that never stores your API keys (first 100 signups get 500 bonus credits)

Hey everyone,

We just launched SensAI, a terminal-first AI coding assistant built with security as a first-class concern.

The core idea: most AI coding tools either ask you to paste your API keys into config files or route everything through a third-party service you don’t control. SensAI takes a different approach — all model traffic goes through an audited proxy, credentials live in your OS keyring via OAuth, and raw provider keys never touch your machine. There’s also pre-flight secrets scanning on every request.

Other things that are in there:

  • Spec-driven planning (Requirements → Design → Tasks) with multi-agent orchestration (Architect, Coder, Tester, Reviewer, etc.)
  • LSP tools + AST structural search
  • Conversation checkpoints with full file-level undo
  • One-binary install (curl ... | bash or the PowerShell equivalent)

It’s credit-based. Free tier gives you 50 credits/month. Paid tiers (Sense / Sense Pro / Sense Ultra) unlock the full model set, higher reasoning levels, and full context via Sense mode.

For the public launch we’re giving the first 100 new accounts 500 bonus credits (they go into your bonus balance and stay there — not taken back when the campaign ends).

If you’re curious:
https://immunisense.com/solutions/sensai

Happy to answer questions about the architecture, how the proxy works, how credits are consumed, or anything else. Also open to feedback — we’re still early.

NoobAlert – Beginner questions, safe space Hey everyone! I made a Chrome extension called ScrollPen ✏️

Hey everyone! 👋 I made a Chrome extension called ScrollPen ✏️

It lets you draw, highlight and write on any website or PDF, and your notes stay on the page when you scroll, and they're still there when you come back. Nothing gets uploaded; everything stays on your computer. It is vibe coded though.

Would love it if you tried it and told me what you think! 🙏

This is my first time sharing something in public, how shall I share it for people to try. As this is a first build there are multiple steps required to install on other computers. How shall I share it so that it does not make it misleading and people trust the project?

Any help would be appreciated 🙏🙏

What do you guys think of deepseek for coding? Have you used it before?

Synce deepseek is so much cheaper it gives me an opportunity to vibe code lot more than I would with 20$ subscription of claude code.

I understand that quality might be lower but how does it compare for its price to claude code lets say.

From my experience as of now: it builds good UI, it understands the logic...

do you have problems with it? drop your cons and pros about this model.

whatever you are building now...GO harder!!!

Post image

Went from guessing to knowing exactly what drove my app downloads. and this result...Took about 3 weeks.

Sharing few tips here.

1.Most small teams skip attribution. Big mistake. 2.It’s not just for big budgets. It matters more when money is tight.

Here’s what actually helped me:

  1. stop looking at total installs. look at source-level installs.
  2. set UTMs on everything. every link, every bio, every collab. Go maniac.
  3. separate iOS and Android tracking early. They behave very differently. IOS users pay better!
  4. deep links = better onboarding = better retention. Set them up.
  5. Influencer deal... u gotta prove it with data before paying again.
  6. check which source drives paying users, not just signups.
  7. ROAS by channel beats CPI every time for decision-making.
  8. Give it 14 days minimum before drawing conclusions.
  9. I used Claude Code for app building, Posthog for product, Airbridge for attribution. these are lighter than the enterprise tools.
  10. export the data, find the 1-2 channels doing 80% of the real work.
  11. kill the rest. Seriously. Focus beats diversification at early stage.
  12. run that lean until you hit consistent MRR, then expand.

am gonna celebrate my small win today... I know it's a small number but it's more about how I approached the market and learned from it. am celebrating that. attitude and grit. (i was lazy af)

hope this was helpful. ask me any questions!

Question Developers building café/POS systems: how would you price this app, with or without a customer website? And any improvements are heavily Appreciated!

Hi everyone, I’d like pricing feedback from developers and freelancers who build POS, restaurant ordering, or similar small-business systems.

I built a café order-management system for an independent café, and I’m trying to work out what would be fair to charge clients for this scope.

I’m considering two packages:

  1. Staff app only: a Windows desktop app for counter orders, kitchen workflow, order history, and menu/stock management.

  2. Staff app + customer website: everything above, plus a café website, customer ordering, order tracking, and table QR codes.

The current features include:

- Visual order entry with quantity controls and automatic totals.

- Kitchen board with pending, preparing, ready, completed, and cancelled order states.

- Order history with status filters, daily grouping, and completed-order value summaries.

- Menu categories, prices, availability controls, and optional item photos.

- Optional stock tracking per item, with automatic deduction when ordering and restocking on cancellation.

- Separate staff and admin permissions.

- Customer website with a categorized menu, basket, takeaway/dine-in checkout, and order-status tracking.

- Printable QR codes for tables 1–5, plus camera scanning or manual table entry during dine-in checkout.

Stack: JavaScript/Vite, Electron for the Windows app, Python/FastAPI, and Supabase Auth/PostgreSQL.

Security and reliability include server-verified authentication and authorization, restricted database access with row-level security, server-side validation and pricing, bot protection and rate limiting on public checkout, and token-protected order tracking. Order creation uses transactions, duplicate-submission protection, and stock locking to handle retries and concurrent orders.

Payments are made at the cashier; the app records cash/card selection. The café owner specifically requested this flow, so online card payments aren’t implemented in the current scope. A website payment-gateway integration could be added as separately scoped work. The desktop app needs connectivity to its backend.

The screenshots show the actual interface with fictional sample data, neutral branding, and a watermark.

For developers who have delivered similar projects:

- What would you charge for the staff app alone, licensed for one café?

- What would you charge for the full package with the website and QR ordering?

- How would you separate software, setup/rebranding/deployment, hosting, and maintenance costs?

- Would you offer a one-time fee plus support, or a subscription? What support would you include?

- How would the price change for source-code handover and exclusive ownership?

- Which market and currency are your estimates based on?

I’d also appreciate feedback on anything you’d consider essential before a paid handover, and what you’d explicitly exclude from the contract. Comparable project price ranges would be especially helpful.

Scope note: this version doesn’t include online payment processing or offline operation. Security controls haven’t been independently audited.

How are you approaching "vibe coding" for MVPs without losing your skills?

Do you just prompt an entire app from scratch, test demand, and then clean up or rewrite the mess later? Or do you not even touch the codebase?

I'm torn. I don't want to lose my actual coding ability, and honestly, writing core parts by hand usually feels way more solid than pure vibe coding. How are you guys balancing speed vs. keeping your skills sharp?
