Fan-made mod I'm developing that adds full VR support to the Gears of War: E-Day campaign. All footage is real gameplay from the current build.

What already works:

- Full VR support for the entire campaign

- Stereo rendering

- Full-body IK

- Manual reloads and manual weapon switching

- Two-handed aiming

- Fighting from cover

It's an early work-in-progress and will be free at release.

Hardware - RTX5060-TI 16GB/R7 7700/16GB DDR5 5600/Quest 3

This game is just amazing in VR,

No other zombie game has you feeling like you're always 1 bad decision away from everything going to s*** VERY quickly 😅

Currently still playing with certain viewpoint mods to see what works, this has stuff like Blood FX, Movement/physics, NPC+, visible loot, etc. Encoutered some jank....but thats the best thing about this!

You can literally taylor it to the Zombie apocalypse scenario you want!

Does it have its little issues?

Yes

Does it impact my enjoyment?

Not one bit!!!

Would i reccomend it?

MY GOD YES!!! ❤️

Hi

I'm looking for a video ideally:

Freeuse for a study (copyright wise)

Some foresty walk that isnt peaceful/soothing or scary/dark

Is vr (obviously)

First person

Ideally without a cameraman visible

Isnt cartoony, so relatively realistic

Is 4minutes or more in length

Doesnt have visible ui (or the ui is toggleable)

Isnt very pricey

Its alot of things I need for control purposes but wondered if anyone knew of anything?

I have a quest 2 headset available so ideally not steam game

Developer I've been building a native VR mod for Black Ops 3 Zombies, here's real 3D + head tracking on Quest 3

Thumbnail

Hey all. For the past month or so I've been working on a VR mod for Black Ops 3 Zombies, and it's finally at the point where I can show it.
This isn't a VorpX-style screen in front of your face. The mod hooks the game's renderer directly and outputs to the headset through OpenXR (Quest 3 over Link), so you get:
Real stereo 3D. Each eye gets its own camera, so depth and scale are real. Zombies and the Origins robots feel huge.
Head tracking. Look around with your head, and aiming follows your head too.
Full field of view. It fills the headset, no black bars.
Around 60–70 fps per eye on an RTX 4070.
The clip shows the gameplay feed and me in the headset side by side, plus a "wiggle" shot so you can see the depth.
What I'm working on next:
motion controllers (first test today: buttons and movement work, hand aiming is next)
the gun actually in your hand
a floating HUD (working in testing)
menus on a virtual screen
Being upfront: I used AI coding tools (Codex and Claude) heavily to build this. They did a lot of the reverse engineering and code, and I've been directing, testing every build in the headset and steering what to fix. It's a hobby project I'm doing for fun.
It's not ready to release yet. It still has bugs, like some lighting shimmer and occasional hitches. If people are interested, I'll keep posting progress. Questions are welcome.

Question unexpectedly poor performance from top end AM4 pc (reverb G2), troubleshooting steps have all failed so far.

My PC Specs:
9070XT Gigabyte OC
5700X3D
64GB cl18 (3600mhz)

This should be more than enough to run the reverb since ive seen multiple people online with similar combos report excellent performance but ive had nothing but stutters, nauseating frame drops and general latency and other low performance issues for the past week ive had this headset.

I included a clip of me playing Dirt Rally 2.0 at a Medium/Low settings combo and you can see how low the fps drops even at a low graphics combo, pretty nauseating from inside the headset, ive tried all the troubleshooting steps i can find online and its still running so poorly, any help would be appreciated.

Question Suggestions for simple & cheap upgrades?

hello all! first post on this sub. i've been getting back into vr and finally replacing some parts on my old kit to make it actually bearable to use. i've been enjoying the process and now that things are plain functional, i'm wondering what else i can do to improve my setup, preferably things that would be cheap to get.

my current kit consists of a valve index hooked up to a pretty powerfup desktop tower, some decent playspacd, three base stations, the Shiftall GripVR controllers, and three HTC vive trackers (waist & feet) on cheap amazon belts. i mostly use this setup for vrchat, occasionally pavlov, very rarely some other shooters.

so far i've been thinking of a cable pulley system to keep the cable off the floor and a new strap for the headset to make wearing it more comfortable (the velcro on the current one came off). what other small upgrades can i make on a budget that you've had success with?

thank you!

Question Similar to Escaping Wonderland and Down the Rabbit Hole?

As the title asks, looking for non-stressful games like the title two games. Stuck on a level in Moss (a battle crab isn't reacting correctly to get through the level) and currently enjoying the later version 7th Guest. Loved Dark Ride Feline....so, trying to find something simple like that without shooting/fighting. Appreciate suggestions!

Question VR mods and Steam Machine

Hey everyone. I got a Steam Machine and I'm considering getting a new VR headset for it. I've played Cyberpunk with the Luke Ross mod on my old gaming PC with a Reverb G2 (that PC has roughly the same spec as the Steam Machine). Has anybody tried playing VR mods on the steam machine? What's the experience like? Is linux an issue with VR mods.

I understand that when it comes to performance, I'll have to make a lot of compromises and pick the right games, but I'm more worried about just getting things to work without having to fight for hours against Linux.

Review Just finished Titanfall 2 VR Spoiler

There's been a lot of praise for this mod. A lot of annoyed people too, especially when people comment that it's the greatest VR game ever made.

But, I get it. It's so well designed, albeit with a few weapons that don't yet have reload animations. Yet, for everything else, it's genuinely and wholeheartedly the best VR experience I've had in many, many years. I cannot praise the mod author enough. They've created the platinum standard that should be aspired to.

And, lastly, and this is a big spoiler...

.

.

.

That final room... that screen... that ending. That was like visiting memories of an old friend, and thank you so much for that surprise.
