First time rewatching True Blood since its original broadcast..

Adina Porter acting the drunk is beyond great acting.. She understands that drunks try to act like they are sober and instead of swaying like crazy and jumbling words.. I mean.. wow. So good and I didn't particularly notice the first time around.

I'm so sad about Tommy

I'm re-watching this series for like the 5th time and it makes me so sad every time I see his story. I wish they didn't kill him off. And that reminds me, Tara's story is messed up too. Those characters deserved better 😭

First Watch - Why are we supposed to side with the Vampires? Spoiler

So my missus has watched this show before when she was younger, and said we should watch it together . Enjoyed it, was surprisingly violent and explicit (I think in my head I'd confused it for vampire diaries which was , iirc, for a teenage audience) anyway , one thing I kept thinking throughout the show is "Why are we supposed to be on the vampires side?" . First season I can kind of understand, Bill is very nice etc, but in the grand scheme of things

- Vampires on the whole have disdain for humans

- Majority of them shown have no issues eating people

-They are subject to a secret shadow government which was again majority filled with vampire supremacists who just wanted to use humans as cattle

- even bill, the most sympathetic main character vampire, spends a whole season murdering innocent people (and the season after it doing pretty much the same ) and has NO real consequences for this.

- the one vampire in the aforementioned shadow government who is zero tolerance on vampires acting like low impulse animals is treated like some sort of extremist

- Bill kills a lawyer in the last season, for no reason other than she's a skeezy lawyer?

I'm sure I'm missing loads but, in the penultimate season they have the vampire concentration camp, and like whilst I was watching it all I could think was "yeah, probably should have them locked away" ?

Anyone else felt this whilst watching it?
