Other From the 400 x to the 900

3 1/2 months and 3.3k miles later, I let go of my beautiful 1st bike and upgraded to the 900.

It’s cliche I know… new rider gets the sensible displacement bike and then trades it in for the more powerful version a few months later.

And honestly… I do wish I’d just gone 900 from the jump for financial reasons. Not to say in any way I regret owning the 400. Honestly wish I could have kept it, as truly the two bikes are quite different.

Each rider has their own relationship with responsibility and restraint. Starting riding at a mellow 41 years old, I wasn’t in danger of being an idiot and riding beyond my abilities. However, part of that mindset is also getting a beginner-appropriate bike.

Anyway I moved, and my new commute requires highway. The 400 is just not quite enough power or weight (for me) to feel solid going 70 + mph. The 900 is a very familiar feeling, but somehow completely different.

The torque lives down low, and it’s got a strong and meaty, tractor-like pull. It feels extremely planted and way less susceptible to cross-winds that can upset the chassis at speed. And I have to say - cruising at 70 at 3500 rpm is way less fatiguing than 7500 rpm, on both the bike and me.

It’s my first “real” bike after years with a 125 scooter. Had it for a week now, couldn’t be more ecstatic. Triumphs truly are amazing bikes!

I’ve had a 2012 STR years ago. Wish I would have kept it. This one is $7k. 8k miles.

Do they still handle and wheelie like a dream? Will be mostly used for track days, mountain roads, and a little bit of farting around town.

Maintenance Issues Cranking/Clicking noise

Need some help diagnosing my current issue. Laid the bike down and cracked the stator cover with fluid spilling out. In the process of fixing some cosmetics on the bike, I took the tank off. The bike has sat for a bit so I did have to replace the battery as it tested bad. Fuel pump turns on, all electrics work and it’s cranking stronger with the new battery. I put a 1gal of gas in the tank as it barely had any in it but still not wanting to turnover. Any advice before I reach out to my local dealership?

Mods and Customization Scrambler 1200 X Exhaust

I have just bought a 2027 Scrambler 1200 X. I want to customise it and give it a little more café vibe. I love the scrambler style but I like the under-mount exhaust that you get on the Speed Twin and Bonnie. Has anyone had any luck putting this style exhaust on a post-2024 scrambler? Can I retro fit aftermarket Bonnie pipes to it or do I need to go full custom fabrication?

Other Street Triple Dilema

Hey friends,

I’ve owned a Street Triple RS for a year now after being away from riding for a while. It’s been an absolute blast, the bike is so fun on the mountain/in the canyons. However, I don’t love the commuting to get to said roads (even with cruise control).

For background, I rode a fully faired bike for a few years prior to the street triple and went for the RS this time around to try and find better ergo’s. Frankly I think being so exposed to the wind is the worst of two evils, and I find myself dreaming of going back to a faired bike like an old Daytona or a new S1000RR. I briefly have considered a more upright bike like the Tiger or SXR but still want the sporty look and plan on making a few track days a year.

I was hoping to get some advice on anyone moving away from the street triple. What would you recommend? What is your mindset if you’ve traded the street triple in for something else?

Other Go for 765RS/RX or wait for 798?

Hi everyone!

I'm seriously considering getting a Street Triple, but I'm struggling to decide whether to go for a discounted 765 RS/RX now or wait for the upcoming 798.

For some context, I currently own a Honda CBR650R E-Clutch. It's a good bike, but I'm not completely satisfied with it, and I'm looking for something that feels a bit more special. I want a bike with plenty of character, great looks, a distinctive engine and good electronics. I mostly ride on the road, including some short commutes, and I don't do track days.

I'm particularly interested in the Street Triple 765 RS and RX. I love the triple engine, the looks and the overall package. The RX especially catches my eye because of its more aggressive styling and clip-ons.

However, with the new Street Triple 798 expected to be unveiled soon, I'm wondering whether it would be wiser to wait and see what Triumph has changed in terms of design, performance, electronics and pricing.

I'm based in Spain, and my budget is around €11,000, with an absolute maximum of €12,000. Depending on the deals available, I'd consider a new bike or a nearly new one with low mileage.

Thanks!

Hey Triumph fam. This is just a little appreciation post to Triumph and their 2025 Scrambler 1200x. At the start of the riding season I was still riding the 2017 Street Scrambler with 42000kms on it. It needed new tires, oil and was WAY BEHIND on a valve check. Basically I was in despair because I absolutely loved that bike but I knew it may be time to trade up since I didn't have that kind of money on hand. In July Triumph offered 0% financing on the 2025 scramblers and I jumped on it. The dealer knew what my 2017 required and they gave me $3k so with the tax savings it helped with my new payments. ( I tried selling privately first with no luck, plus I couldn't sell it without the buyer knowing what it needed.) Accessories on the 2025s were also at 0% and 15% off MRSP so of course I knew this was the time to get them as well. When I picked up the bike the first thing I noticed was the huge increase in power and stability riding on the highway. This bike is an absolute unit. I know there are bigger bikes but I always thought my 900 was pretty capable and I rode it hard. Now it feels like I have upgraded from a beginner bike to a man's bike. Thank you Triumph for your 0% and helping me fall in love with motorcycling all over again. I have already enjoyed 7000+kms & a successful moto camping trip. I am looking forward to squeezing in the last bit of riding this season and can't wait for the next.

Mods and Customization After market fog light

I recently bought a used 23 tiger 900 rally pro. It didn't have the fog lights installed and the PO said it didn't have them when he bought it either. I investigated further and found the OEM connectors are still there.

Does anyone know the part number for the connector or where I can find one to splice into an after market light?

The OEM fogs are like $700 and a Denali set with a ez-can is like a grand. I'm trying to spend much less but retain the function of the OEM button on the handle bar.

Maintenance Issues Is this sound normal on the Street Twin?

Hello everyone!

I bought a 2018 Street Twin last month, and I've noticed this weird noise when accelerating and decelerating. Is this normal?

If not, has anyone else experienced this? What could be causing it, and how can I fix it?

Just a newbie to the Triumph world! 😅

Mods and Customization Tool box for Tiger 1200?

Has anyone ever come across something like this to fit a 2022 (or later) Tiger 1200?
Generic ones all look like they’d foul the rear suspension reservoir.
Thanks!
