Yeah, I'd actually forgotten about that whole controversy. I started following LOTW around the time he released his video "I set a trap for Creative Assembly in 2024 and they fell for it" (september 2025), so I watched it, but I never really understood what the original issue was, why some people thought the DLC looked terrible, or why CA supposedly scrapped it after the backlash.
I also saw people saying that the DLC wasn't based on official Warhammer Fantasy lore, which might explain some of the negative reactions?
Anyway, thanks for treating me like I know nothing about WH lore, even though I have over 2k hours in the game. I only play WH because I love Total War games, and I originally bought the game "For ze Lady!" (basically, I just wanted to play Medieval II with better graphics and fewer bugs). But from now on, I am more interested in these topics, and I would love a detail answer.

Hello all,
I recently posted here about how to defeat Nagash's Final battle as Toddy on VH/VH with full AI cheats (no mods). 2 people commented which was really useful as it gave me some ideas.
For those who are wondering I triggered the end game on turn 20 and eventually defeated the battle on turn 51 which was a hellish nightmare and collected 4 of his books, reducing his power to 3/5.
I tried to win that battle 2 days straight and couldn't do it. After the comments, I tried allied recruitment and got doomseekers, bastiladon with solar engine and dragons and couldn't do it. Somehow he was very strong and eventually tried a comp (attached) that managed to win it twice.
I rushed Luthor harkon, fight my way in to his point with landships and the tank. Kept Emil on foot to buff the frontline and make it harder for AI to target and hit. 2 Nuln ironsides were always aiming at the large units and demigryph knights with Halberds were amazing at killing entities with the help of 2 priests.
I had 3 flying units, Toddy, Cap and a moon dragon through allied recruitment which sniped anything that flew with the help of healer and constant melee damage reflection.
Rushed infantry to meet depth guard on a straight line kept nuln behind and aiming at necroflex/leviathan. After killing Luthor go for the second necro and help whatever you do never let Toddy get stuck. Snipe mortarchs and if you have to land and feel stuck use hellstorm to get him out of danger.
One thing, use the unbreakable rite before the battle.
The first time I won, unfortunately my laptop (old) somehow couldn't keep up and shut down which was a battle that wiped 85% of my army. Second time I battled it was a heroic victory and both battles I saved a replay in case I decide to upload it on YouTube.
I know many asked how to win, some people comment saying "Skill issue" or cheese it or reduce battle difficulty because it's bugged. It's actually not bugged but a very very hard battle.
The screenshot is from the first battle as you can see most of my army is wiped but if you follow the strat and play around Boris with the rest of your priests/heroes and snipe the mortarchs as they come along. Have a high level healer with good items(chalice of malofleur, whatever the name) and be on top of your healing game, you can certainly get heroic like I did and won't struggle.
Hope it helps for those who struggle. I'll do my best to answer any questions if you have questions.

That mod is awesome. I just tried as N'kari in his Realm of Chaos Champaign, and... yeah!

Finished a Thanquol campaign a while back and by the end of it, my entire army was just the various types of Stormfiends. I did attempt to field a more balanced army of Stormvermin with Weapons Teams and Doomflayer/Monster support, but it was way less effective. Are there ways to make these more fluffy army comps viable?

Idk if theres a feature I don’t know about or if it’s just a bug. And before someone asks I missclicked I didn’t mean to cast amber trance on them but somehow it worked anyway

I often find myself opening the game, looking at the insane variety of factions, playing 2 rounds with 5 different lords as a vibe check and hopping off, it’s kindof hard for me to lock into a campaign. I decided to check out Miao Yings campaign and oh my Sigmar did I have some of the most intense 10 hours of gaming of my life, absolutely locked in. I play on hard, very hard difficulty and I don’t know what it was about this campaign, but managing the Great Wall, deciding to go past it and open up a chaos front, while in the south and right flanks of the map are being slowly conquered by dark elves and skaven, all while my tiger warriors are holding out for dear life trying to defend THE TRUE DRAGONS. Made for such an epic time. Around turn 60 Skaven were slowly grinding me down and the depth guard came in full swing, on top of chaos spawning 7 full stacks at the north walls, I just couldn’t hold out. But what an amazingly fun campaign. I just wanted to share this, if anyone has any favorites lately I’d be glad to hear it.

I wish I could have just used the royal brothers, but bringing some sisters made up for it.

past year and especially past week alot of mods come out that fixed vanilla issues. heres some mods you can use without without breaking the core game.
1- Eli's Wall-Columns Begone!
removes columns when destroying two columns in sieges.
2-Just Good Babysitter
Fixes attack orders. Melee units attack until the target breaks, then switch targets. Ranged units will re-engage their original target if it steps back into range.
3-Automatic Lord Group
if you use several lords together it lets you group them.
4- TIMBER, WITH WILDFIRE!
lets explosions knock down the trees they hit.
--MODS THAT MAY CHANGE BALANCE
4-No Knockdown Invincibility
alot of great units like dwarf blunderbusses and big units in general perform badly because of this stupid rule . makes some foot lords invincible when chasing too very annoying.
3-Legendary Lord Defeat Traits for Reinforcing Generals
self explanatory
-- special
Victory Conditions Overhaul + Warhammer 1+2 Cinematics.
Adds WH1/WH2 cinematics, custom quest battles, and much better victory conditions. (Note: You need to disable the Cinematics mod when playing WH3 factions).

The short-things' cave on screenshot has been just sacked by me great me, alone, with no help from my useless-stupid underlings, yes-yes! They stayed-sat inside and planned-schemed until I ordered them to complete the masterplan!
Later, when I went to rob-raze a forest of ugly wood-things, the underling did this again-again!! Not with a fresh army that time, but with a big-large one that mustered for a turn, yes-yes!
Did you saw-met useless underlings like those, my fellow brilliant-wonderful Gray Seers?

Don't normally get my shit mixed. Shit has been mixed. Clearly playing this wrong. What are your recommendations?
On VH. Capture initial region. Take out Azazel and then struggle against the rats. Throgg rolls in and then Host of the Triplets and then all the rest of their Norsca buddies. Struggling to get established.

NAGASH sent four of his finest armies to attack a single Dawi settlement that I had conquered last turn and left vacant while I crushed his vampire allies.
Obviously he must have known that a single Dawi is more than enough to kill any undead, including himself because they stood outside the small settlement for three turns until imminent surrender.
In that time two of his armies ventured beyond and were crushed by two of mine in a close defeat turned close victory.
I then "relieved" the garrison (they were all dead but the walking bones were still too scared to step inside until the following turn) and turned my eye towards the black pyramid.
Nothing to put in the book because NAGASH is nothing before Dawi steel.

44 turns into my Neferata campaign and I am about to recruit a new Strigoi bloodline Lord from my Coven in Black Crag. I have researched and paid for Deathly Advisor, where the newly raised Lord is accompanied by a Necromancer hero. However when I pay 500 blood to raise my Lord only the Necromancer is spawned into the world. In order to bring the Strigoi Lord into being I have to fork out 1700 dark magic to recruit him from one of my settlements. Surely this can't be how it was intended? I am playing without mods of any kind. See attached screenshots.

Out of the 5 newly introduced factions by the Lords of the End Times DLC, which one dominates the campaign map the hardest in player's hands?

Hope to hear any kind of road map or plans after End Time dlc soon..
