Tesla Investors Want Answers on Cybercab, Unsupervised FSD and HW3 Upgrades Ahead of Wednesday’s Call
- “How does the Cybercab fleet scale past Austin, and what’s the regulatory path outside Texas given NHTSA’s open safety review?”
- “When can we anticipate FSD unsupervised in customer cars?”
- “When will the CyberCab be available for customer purchase/ownership?”
- “What’s the cost per Optimus unit, and what does the first paying customer look like?”
- “What’s the unit economics per paid robotaxi mile, and how does it compare to the thirty-cent target?”
- “Tesla has acknowledged that HW3 vehicles cannot support unsupervised FSD. When will owners know whether they can upgrade their hardware for free, and when will Tesla provide a clear plan?”
- “When do you anticipate Optimus will begin generating revenue?”

116,000 Miles On Original Tires
I have a 2023 Model Y with just over 116,000 miles, driven primarily on the freeway for my daily commute.
It came with the original Continental tires, which I’m finally getting replaced today! I’ve only had the tires rotated once, at around 70,000 miles.
The rear tires experienced the most wear, especially along the inner edges due to the negative camber.
I’m honestly impressed with how long the original tires lasted, considering the mileage!
Edit/Updates:
- photos of sidewall in the comments. (code: 3723)
- car was bought brand new.
- this really happened….

Tesla Self-Serve test driving is the best!
I did a Self-Serve test drive today: never did I have such a smooth experience, test driving a car. Without having to deal with the sales people. As someone who is diagnosed with autism, this is the best feature of Tesla for me.
If other brands did this, then it would save so much frustration. Because often I'm completely burned up, after test driving and all the sales talk at regular car dealers.

First Tesla Service Center visit, coming from Kia, I'm impressed
Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to share my first experience at a Tesla Service Center. Coming from a Kia I am very impressed.
Appointment was booked 3 weeks out which is unfortunate but I understand.
Arrived on time at 8:30am, verified what I needed inspected as I just bought the car recently and had a few concerns plus needed normal service. Was provided a complimentary beautiful White Tesla Model Y

Battery Health Test
Hi,
I ran a battery health test on my 2025 Tesla Model 3 Long Range at 27,000 miles and it’s at 87%. Is that normal? I ran the same test 6 months ago and it was at 89%. I keep the car charge limit at 80% and never let it go below 30%. I also charge at home with a level 2 charger.

3rd Party EV Range Extender in your trunk
I thought that it might be easier to just leave the old battery pack in my aging 2017 MX and drop some sort of black box range extender into the trunk someday. Found this on YouTube...apparently that black box is already in development, and that day is closer than I thought.

Tesla fixing fit and finish issue after delivery!
Noticed that it looked like my rear quarter glass on my new Y was pressed into the paint when I took the car to get tinted five days after taking delivery. Life got busy but I made an appointment yesterday to take it in today to Tesla. Car is now over 3 weeks old with 2500 miles. Tesla didn’t hesitate to take care of it. Estimate being written up by the body shop they sent me to down the street. They said once they get that to schedule when to bring it in and they’ll have a loaner waiting there for me.
I was always stressed about my delivery day but this cemented that they back their products. Also the car in general is fantastic!

What made you pull the trigger
I’ve been car shopping for a bit, and I’ve always been drawn to Teslas. However, everyone in my family keeps talking me out of it. Here’s my situation:
I am happily married, and my wife has a paid off suv (2020) that isn’t going anywhere. I haven’t bought a car in some time. I drive a 2017 Subaru Impreza. We recently found out we’re pregnant and we both agreed I should get a new to us car. I commute about 30 minutes to work and it’s nothing but highway miles.
We own a house that has a single car garage. We would theoretically be able to charge it in there. But there is something daunting about jumping into the world of Evs.
Another thing to consider is where I work. I am a teacher (high school history) and driving a Tesla would certainly bring unwanted attention because of Elon. I personally don’t see him as any different than Bezos but everyone still buys from Amazon.
In short, what advice would you have for me, and is a Tesla something that I should really consider?
What made you pull the trigger for the first time?

MY LR AWD ISSUE
Just wanted to leave this here.
Picked up my CPO Model Y LR AWD w/ Boost from Tesla this last Friday.
Tesla no longer allows test driving to their CPOs prior to purchase. I was super confused. But, assurance from their team made it seem like if they are selling it, the car is fine.
I went ahead with the purchase, car within the first day of ownership had tons of problems with FSD. My wife complained about it missing exits, turning erratically, going to dead ends and then just turning off, ect ect. I played it off as I wasn’t in the car with her. Last night I drove into Nashville in the car and during the entire drive back and forth(80 miles) the car missed 8 turns and almost turned us into a wall, which I slammed on the breaks and disconnect the FSD.
I reached out to Tesla today in Franklin. 8 AM talked to a service advisor and was told somebody would reach out. Nothing…reached out a total of 5 more times to the Managers and people is “sales”. Nobody has reached out to me. The service advisor told me to make an appointment on the app if it felt urgent, but repair bookings are a month out.
Just want anybody looking for a Model Y - please drive it before you purchase it.
tdlr; bought a 40k CPO Model Y with non working FSD that has erratic turning behaviors, staff at Tesla refused to have urgency around it, still waiting to here back about how they are going to fix it or refund me the money.

The rocket powered Tesla Roadster should have been the third version
Tesla already designed and debuted the Tesla Roadster version 2 all the way back in 2017. They could have easily built that version as a production vehicle while also developing the rocket version as the third version of the Roadster. The original version of the Roadster isn’t too different from the model S and could have taken over its production lines. Instead there’s a 10 year gap. This would have made a lot more sense imo

Got my first ever order placed!

Hey everyone! Got my first ever order placed for a Model Y Performance. So far we have owned a Model 3 2022 and a Model Y 2023 (pre-owned), but after we have tried the Juniper Performance out with my wife, we absolutely fell in love with it! Just hoping the delivery times will not be too long (Finland), as we were told it would most likely be March-April. Super excited about this 😄

I spent half a day building a Tesla Roadster game with AI
You can fly over traffic and drive upside down through tunnels. I even put a “Tesla-only lane” sign on the ceiling.
Made this little prototype in Godot with AI. Still rough around the edges, but this is how it turned out.

DIY Thrusters
I can’t wait for the Roadster 2.0. So I’m going to install my own tank and thruster system on my Y.

Longest streak so far!
FSD on the whole trip up from Central FL to Ohio for a wedding, had to break the streak once in Georgia because the car parked in the only spot that was missing a super charger 😑
On the way back though, I haven't touched the wheel, brake, or gas once. Just been vibing with the wife. lol
