Game Feedback Why has the damage of all weapons not been increased more?

I remember Saber giving reasons for the Tactical Rework and the main one was Auspex; specifically, balancing weapon damage with a 300% potential boost.

Now after this change weapon damage was buffed a little, but certainly not enough to compensate for this loss. Shouldn’t every weapon have gotten like a 50% boost to make up for it?

If we aren’t worried about Tactical pushing certain weapons too far, then I think it’s time for them to strong on their own.

General What's up with the weird black leather on vanguard and sniper?

Why are the armours for sniper and vanguard including this weird spot in the middle? I prefer a full torso armor and not having it segmented by a leather patch, and it's on every single chest armor as well.

Game Feedback Raven Guard icon is incorrect.

The Raven Guard's icon is that which is shown on its small symbol, which has sharper and less rounded feathers, a larger eye, and less curved beak, while the Hawk Lords Icon is what is shown on the pauldron, which is opposite of the aformentioned description.

General HOT TAKE - SM2 is turning into a minimum effort bug fest (rant)

I know i will get crucified for this but hear me out:

Year 2 roadmap comparison to year 3 roadmap:

  1. We get 3 news weapons (was 5).

  2. 2 new operations (was 4).

  3. Reskin siege mode (identical to original siege).

  4. Reskin stratagems aka Crucible mode.

  5. Already existing cosmetics added to other classes.

  6. An abysmal twitch cosmetic cashgrab.

We are overall getting less stuff in year 3, by the looks of it, and year 3 has a big focus on reusing assets/reworking already existing classes aka lower budget.

Year 3 has also introduced a lot of game breaking bugs and awful QoL changes:

  1. UI functions are breaking.

  2. Some weapons not performing correctly.

  3. Some new perks are useless.

  4. Tooltips not working on certain things.

  5. Tac reworking is... super weird, perks disabling other effects, awful weapon value changes.

  6. Undocumented changes to the games fundemental values, this is perks, enemies, weapons etc.

  7. Invisible arm, might be fixed now.

Hotfixes takes several patches (months) to get fixed, this include gamebreaking bugs like:

  1. The old kraken penetrating rounds applied to plasmas/burning.

    1. Siege not rewarding accolades.
  2. Ghost parries.

Worst part is, a lot of these bugs you will discover as a seasoned player, by playing for just a few hours, which clearly shows that the devs are on a strickt time/money budget since they clearly havent been play tested probably.

Rant is over!

(Quick side note:

I am by no means a hater of this game, and i consider myself a SM2 glazer, but at this point i would gladly take a big QoL hotfix patch over any cosmetic patch, since the game at this point keeps breaking every patch).

Operations Hard Strats feeling overturned?

Think the crucible perks are bleeding over obviously because this weeks hard strats damage both against player and by the player feels abysmal when there’s no damage modifiers in play

Alright y’all…I’d wager a few who have commented have played since launch but others not so sure. Personally I’ve noticed game director spikes here and there…at times the time of day or day of the week dictates it and there’s generally a noticeable difficulty spike BUT I just ran the normal weekly and as I queued up (from the NORMAL operations menu) it tried to throw me into a crucible match from the weekly strat menu…thankfully I didn’t have any penances selected so it wouldn’t let me join but seems like proof to me that this phenomenon is still happening and likely altering experiences.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. That is all.

Game Feedback The devs are digging a Difficulty hole

• Upvotes

With the recent events of ever ramping difficulty in the form of crucible I think i understand the problem that both the devs and community are experiencing.

I think it started with the chaos spawn, back when they were first released everyone was having major problems with parries and damage being dealt by them as well as stupid delays with attacks, devs did address this by lowering spawn rates but in game it felt like it had barely changed, although we do get the occasional complaint these days it seems everyone has adapted to the difficulty over time as they want to keep playing.

I think the same thing happened with absolute difficulty as players struggled to begin with adapted over the course of a few months and now thrive. Then stratagems, BS modifiers appeared so often before the devs reevaluated balancing and players trudged through complaining but still did it, then seige mode was reworked this is were i think the first instance of the devs being scared of making it too easy happened, when they nerfed enemy spongieness so high waves were easier this resulted in more players achieving higher waves and the next update they returned enemies to being bullet sponges again and then nerfed the economy in it through tech priests. This was the first instance where a vast majority of players simply couldn't adapt but I think sabre is scared that if they revert changes that players will complain its too easy now that they have adapted to their ridiculous difficulties.

We are seeing the same thing with crucible now aswell where they are overestimating player ability. Thinking once players overcome the challenge at the beginning it will become the norm for them but like hard seige I dont think its going to happen theres a limit to what the players and even the game engine can handle which we are seeing with over abundence of bugs and crashes, at some point soon they are going to need to revert the difficulty regardless of if some say its too easy now or not. Kinda rambling now but yeah they dug a hole that they are scared of backing out from i think because everyone kept adapting.

Bug Report Disconnects Siege

This is my second time time this week when I attempt to do siege hard mode, and the second time I get disconnected in wave 15.

Last time I told a friend to play together so I could at least reconnect to the mission so I can get my rewards. The reconnect took so long, my friend finished the siege. He saw "player has joined" in the notification bar and assumed I will get my accolades but I was stuck in loading screen and got nothing.

Two weeks ago we were playing siege mode, 2 premade and one random. I got disconnected in wave 14, while I was reconnecting to the game a random joined the siege and I got left out.

What is the issue here? I also play other online games and I never had a connection issue like I have in this game.

It's so frustrating to know that basically this game is like a slot machine, you finish your mission or you lose one hour of gameplay + other 5 minutes trying to reconnect.

General Stop crying about Chaos Siege and Crucible. It’s a massive skill issue.

I am completely fed up with the constant whining on this subreddit ever since the Anniversary Update dropped. Every single day, the front page is flooded with casuals crying that the new Chaos Siege mode is "too brutal" or that Crucible penances are completely unfair. It is an embarrassing skill issue.

If you are getting absolutely rolled by Tyranid swarms and Loyalist waves on Avarax it’s not because the mode is broken....it’s because you suck at managing the map.

Stop ignoring the Chaos Ritualists. If you aren't buying them early to fuel your requisition generation, of course you’re going to get overwhelmed in later waves.

It requires Level 25 for a reason. If you activate personal penances, get stomped, and then run to Reddit to beg Saber for a nerf, you completely missed the point of a hard mode.

Stop expecting to breezily unlock your Lamenters armor or dominate as Heretic Astartes without putting in any effort. If you can't handle Hard Chaos Siege, go back to Normal, learn how to deploy your Helbrute properly, and just get better at the game.

Tip/Guide I DID IT! PvP

Finally unlocked all of the pvp outfits, so I can enjoy Chaos Siege to my heart's content 😌. Btw for anyone who is discouraged to do pvp because you aren't good, I think they lowered the standard for "kills" to unlock the outfits. Now "assists" and "kills" count towards the score, so as long as you land a shot on an enemy and your teammate kills them, you get the point. It is a little of a grind, but totally doable.

General You should “cheese” Crucible mode and anyone who tells you otherwise needs an ego check

Post image
211 Upvotes

…because I told you otherwise and recently received and ego check. 😂

This is a bit of a mea culpa I suppose.

I was initially against “cheesing” Crucible mode. “Why cheat yourself?” I asked with the best of intentions and a…complete lack of humility. “You’re not going to get any better if you don’t force yourself to play harder content.” 🤦‍♂️

Well, dying this many times just for some banged up Lamenters armor is just miserable and unfun for people. No one learned anything or improved. It was just a massacre.

Kudos to the guys I played with for not leaving (they both stuck it out to the end, so much appreciated brothers 🤝) but this was ruinously difficult.

That’s been the case with every team I’ve queued with tonight.

So, I’ve changed my mind on the whole “cheesing” thing and can’t believe I even thought otherwise.

🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀 <—Do this and don’t let your pride get in the way. I’ll be doing so from here on out. I’m done with Crucible once I finish ranking up my Tactical.

I enjoy the difficulty—*to a point!—*but runs like this just aren’t a positive experience for anyone involved and they’re an all too common experience in Crucible.

I still love this game but Crucible ain’t my mode, so I’ll see y’all in Hard Strats where the real action is! 🙂

Edit: To the “git gud” crowd, I have a rank 6 Tactical and a rank 4 Sniper. I’m laughing at you, not with you.

Tip/Guide Stuck in a dilemma

Post image

Hi. Ive been following Warhammer 40k lore for some time now and i really want to move into gaming verse. Ive played Boltgun pirated and really loved it. I just want to buy SM2 to contribute to the dev's the game seems to have a lot of passion put into the lore. The question is that i can only afford 1 and idk if base game is enough and there are lot of cool DLC chapter armour so idk which is the best option and i have no idea if the online PvP and PvE environment is still alive. Thank you

Operations I’m tired boss

So having just completed the Tactical crucible and can now rock the lamenters armour I have come to some conclusions.

1) The amount of runs needed even without failing is ridiculous. Started out at the launch playing crucible and for the first 3 levels it was alright, just like hard strats so nothing too bad. Then I realised just how little exp I was getting by not completely nerfing my character into oblivion. Never took the friendly fire one as that is just asking for trouble. Didnt take range damage nerf because as Tac you either go range or melee and I like popping heads. Even taking pretty much all others it was 7 or so runs a level. That is bonkers

2) Crucible doesnt make you better at the game. This one may be controversial but I am open to hear other opinions. How is taking extra damage and dealing less making you better at the game? How is an Assault dropping down a ledge and taking half a health bar of damage making them better at the game? How is getting obliterated by spore mines because a teammate killed a bunch of enemies then didnt clear the mines making you better at the game? All these reasons and more make me believe that its not so much showing how good you are but just how lucky you can be.

3) Wish friends could join after you start. Level 1-2 I found teams of randoms and worked pretty well, that all changed after I hit level 3. I would start a match. Make sure not on private and never join someone on a mission even going quick start. Did have 1-2 players join at the start of some games but as soon as they go down they leave so I solo the rest. For a team based game, solo seems to always prevail.

After all this I was over it. Having played since launch I have done everything this game has thrown at me. Did lethal and got the helmet when it first came out and had the spore mine apocalypse. Did absolute when that first dropped and prevailed there. Prestige came so ground out every character to P4 lvl25. Then came the ultra grind and everything I had done previously was not counted. Even did PvP and got to 50 before they handed everyone all the weapons. So after soloing 4 matches in a row I just cheesed crucible.

Now some of you may cry fowl but honestly, I couldnt care. I have the armour for one character and not gonna bother for the rest. The ultra chuds that want to earn it by slogging through 40ish matches per character, more power to you but I for one am sick of the constant grind and Saber moving the goals every new patch making the time I have put in pointless. I could have started playing now and earnt it all at the same time.

Sorry for the rant, feel free to crucify me but I have got the armour set. Atleast until the next ultra grind comes out

Game Feedback Melee contested health regen

• Upvotes

I never really played Assault/Bulwark other than leveling them to p4 and just now started to farm the 50 absolute cloak on Assault - so I never realized how much CH regen on melee weapons sucks.

It is so bad that they might not give any contested health at this point and it would not really make any difference.
Any charged thunder hammer hit should regen huge amounts of contested health when really it gives like 5%? Wtf? And other weapons are not really that much better.

So when playing a melee class I have to bring a secondary that has good CH regen or else I'm f***ed whenever there is no executable enemy around? Great.

PS: Why do classes that can't bring a primary at the very least get more ammo for their secondary and/or decent ammo regen perks (bulwarks auxiliary reload exists i know)? A single Zoan takes half of the ammo of a PP and that requires you to hit every single shot.

It's there for all classes. I have already equipped normal armor on all of them to see if its a decal, and already created ruled for all armor parts and even checked heretic armor sets, I have no idea what this might be. Any help?
