Ultimea D80 Boom 7.1 vs Sony HT-S40R

Which one is better In actual performance? in papers the specification of the D80 Boom is far more supperior, but after searching for common issues to it I’ve been seeing issues with it. It says it works fine with a 7.1 movie compatible but the problem is if your watching a movie with a 5.1 sound compatible.

Is the Sony HT-S40R is more quality and provides more immersive experience or despite the issue with D80 Boom is it stillbetter?

Troubleshooting I Want My TV To Go Back Controlling Volume After Hisense Soundbar Installation

• Upvotes

Hello,

I recently installed a Hisense AX700 soundbar system onto my Samsung TV (bought this tv around 2015).

Anyway, once I installed the soundbar it's like it took over all the control from how the TV volume use to work, even the emblem on the tv is now different when I volume up or down. How do I set my Soundbar to a "set it and forget it" volume, and go back to using my TV's capabilities to control the volume?

The reason I want this is because the TV is "snappy" when controlling the volume with quick response time, but now after the soundbar took over it's kinda clunky and like it has to think about raising/lowering the volume.

It's not a huge issue, but more of an annoying one and there should be a way to go back to having my TV control my volume instead of using the soundbar interface.

Hope this makes sense. Thank you for your help!

An interesting question to me about Sonos and Samsung 990, but maybe only me !

Hi, I’m trying to figure out whether to buy either of the above. Yes, yawn, boring topic. Maybe my situation is a little different. I bought a house that has Bose wired in every room. In the TV area, 5x Bose wired to a decent Sony amp and a decent REL sub. See photo…

Where I lived previously, I had B&W speakers x5 connected to an expensive Arcam amp and another good REL sub, sounded great!

The Bose stuff sounds, umm, ok. Not painfully bad. I had thought I should buy one of the above to get somewhat closer to what I had set up before. I went to a listening room and tried the Sonos Arc Ultra. It was loud, but did not sound nice to me at all, harsh, crowded, busy, no good stereo separation. I had thought that after all these years, I was going to be amazed by some sort of fake separation, but no.

Anyhow, I left thinking I may as well stick with old Bose if I’m not going to reinstate a proper AV system. Or more to the point, it seems like a waste of money spending £2500 on something that sounds cheap to me.

Please tell me what I am missing ! Or what I got wrong ? Thank you !

LG LG S70TR is significantly louder over Bluetooth than HDMI eARC – is this normal?

I have an LG S70TR soundbar connected to my LG TV via HDMI eARC, and I’ve noticed a very significant difference in volume compared to connecting the soundbar directly to my phone via Bluetooth.

To make sure I was comparing things fairly, I played the same YouTube content on both devices. The difference in loudness is very noticeable: the soundbar gets considerably louder when connected to my phone via Bluetooth than when playing the same content through the TV over HDMI eARC.

Interestingly, I don’t notice any significant difference in how the sound is distributed across the speakers. The main difference seems to be the overall volume.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

- Set the TV’s digital sound output to Pass Through.
- Tested different sound modes. AI Sound Pro seems to sound better and somewhat louder than the other modes, but it still doesn’t seem to match Bluetooth.
- Disabled LG WOW Orchestra/WOW features, but this didn’t make a significant difference.

I’m wondering whether this is normal behavior or if there’s a setting I’m missing on either the TV or the soundbar.

Has anyone experienced the same issue with an LG soundbar connected via eARC? Is there a way to get the same volume level over HDMI eARC as over Bluetooth without sacrificing sound quality?

I’d appreciate any suggestions or troubleshooting tips!

Klipsch Flexus CORE 300 vs 200 with sub and rears

Can anyone who's heard both give me an idea of the differences I'd experience? The 300 is appealing to me for it's simplicity of just 1 device. I don't really care so much about surround sound or a lot of bass. However, if the 200 with rears and a sub will give me overall clearer and more room filling sound, I'd consider that too. I am not looking for room shaking bass, but I've heard many soundbars with strong bass, but not very pleasing bass, vs a sub that can put out mild, but room filling bass. I live in an apartment so I don't want something crazy loud. Right now I can get the set (open box) for the same price as the 300, so it's one or the other. If I get the 300, I don't want to have to add anything to it, unless maybe I move somewhere in the future where I can really crank it.

Thanks

Denon DHT-S217 for Hisense 55E77Q Pro?

Hello, this is my first post in this subreddit, I'm from Germany, so first of all sorry for bad english 🥸

I recently bought my new Hisense 55E77Q Pro, and the TV is very good overall, the only thing that disappointed me since day one is the sound. A little bit.. cold? tinny? Not warm, voluminous and clear.

When it comes to soundbars, I'm a complete beginner. I wanted a soundbar under 200€ without a external subwoofer, the sound should just be a little heavier and dynamic as well as "deep" or "warm" (sorry I realy don't know how I could describe it better in english xD).

A friend said that Denon is a good brand in this segment and for soundbars in general, so I looked for the DHT-S217 and I would be able to get this soundbar for about 120€, very good condition, complete scope of delivery and original packaging.

Is this a no-brainer? Is there any better soundbar for my TV and my claims in this price segment?

Thx a lot for reading, have a great day!
