Discussion 20s Stream Delay on OBS

OKAY so I use OBS to stream with my videos and stuff like that, but the issue is that my stream has a 20s delay, which is really frustrating when I'm trying to talk to my chat AND ending my streams, my outro always gets cuts out BEFORE i even try to cut stream, and my fan's chats are also heavily delayed.

I've tried messing around with settings for YouTube and OBS, because again this is frustrating me and i'm heavily hardheaded so I wanted to figure it out myself before asking for help, but it's starting to get a bit frustrating and I want to try to fix it.

I've tried changing the stream on YouTube (by going into livestreams and scrolling down in the settings), to "Low-Latency" and then "Ultra-Low-Latency", but it lagged stream HORRIBLY and didn't seem to be as much of help. I also changed the settings that mentioned delay to a lower number to fix it but it ALSO didn't work, and again, just lagged the stream.
I think i tried other stuff too but it just didn't work as well. It barely changed the amount.

I realize that YouTube and OBS needs to have that delay because of the fact that if it doesn't, it'll lag the stream even more and have more issues, along with the processing of YouTube and OBS compared together will also completely mess up the stream entirely, which would be even more frustrating, but I don't think I need a 20s delay? Is there any way that I can fix this?

Please mind that I'm not experienced with OBS whatsoever. I got recommended to this website after a friend noticed I was struggling OR I found it myself, I don't nessicarily remember which sadly but I'm very much new to OBS and not sure of the ways to get around problems like this or ways to FIX these problems yet. It would help if it was long paragraphs cause i'm better at understanding those long paragraphs instead of the shorter ones.

Discussion Just learned about UI safe zones for videos! Also looking for creator friends and support groups 💛

I'm working on my very first social media videos, and today I learned about UI safe zone overlays!

Apparently, you can use overlays while editing to see where platform interface elements (like captions, buttons, and usernames) might cover important parts of your video. That way, you can plan your framing and text placement before exporting instead of discovering problems afterward.

I thought that was pretty cool and wanted to share it in case it helps anyone else who's just starting out!

I'm also hoping to connect with other creators who are serious about building social media and YouTube into something sustainable.

I'd really love to find a few people who are genuinely excited about each other's creative journeys. People who want to share what we're learning, exchange advice, troubleshoot problems, celebrate milestones, and offer emotional encouragement when things get difficult.

I'm especially interested in building real friendships with people who understand both the excitement and vulnerability of putting creative work into the world.

I'm open to joining an existing small group or connecting with a few people who might want to build one together. I'm not looking for sub-for-sub or engagement exchanges. I'm looking for genuine connections, mutual support, and people who are committed to growing as creators.

Does anyone know of any supportive creator groups like this? Or would anyone be interested in connecting and supporting each other along the way?

I'd love to hear what you're working on, too! 💛

Collab Need raw videos for building portfolio..

Hey! I'm building my portfolio as a short-form video editor. I'm looking for real, unedited talking-head or podcast footage to turn into a professional 30–60-second Reel.

I can edit one short clip for free in exchange for permission to showcase the finished edit in my portfolio. I'm comfortable with captions, motion graphics, B-roll, sound design and retention-focused pacing.

If you have unused footage, I'd love to collaborate!

- Notifications: 15.8%

- Channel pages: 11.2%

- Other YouTube features: 8.7%

Are these stats good? Why is YouTube barely recommending my video after 3 days?

Discussion How I finally started growing my triceps with just one dumbbell (home workout)

I’ve been training at home and my triceps were always lagging behind. I only have one dumbbell, so I had to figure out what actually works.

After trying a lot of different movements, I settled on 3 exercises that hit all three heads of the triceps (long, lateral, and medial). These have been the most effective for me so far.

The main ones I use:

  • Overhead extensions
  • Diamond Pushups
  • Dumbbell Skull Crusher

I focus on controlled reps and progressive overload. Nothing fancy, just consistency.

Curious what has worked for you guys for triceps growth at home? Any one-dumbbell exercises that made a real difference for you?
