Discussion Creator Support straight up told me I can NEVER get my Silver Award reviewed again

My Silver Creator Award application was rejected about a year ago due to “spam, deceptive practices, or repetitive content.”

I contacted YouTube Support today to ask for a fresh review, and after going back and forth with them, they told me:

“Creator Award eligibility decisions are final based on our internal review findings, and we are unable to override this determination.”

They also said:

“Once you have violated the YouTube Community Guidelines, you may not be eligible for Creator Awards.”

I've seen people claim they've contacted support after being rejected and eventually gotten their channels reviewed again and received their awards, so this honestly surprised me.

Is this actually a thing? Does “final” mean you're permanently disqualified from ever receiving a Creator Award, or does it just mean support can't override the original decision?

Has anyone here successfully gotten their rejection reconsidered after some time had passed? I'd appreciate hearing about similar experiences because I'm genuinely confused by this response.

Discussion Average pricing for editors on short form content

Heya guys, I just wanted to get a bit of feedback in terms of the “going price” for short form content editing. I run a small channel myself and unfortunately do not have the spare time to edit my stream clips and other videos myself. I essentially would like to know what people think is a good going rate for a roughly 30 second short on Minecraft content? Thank you in advance!

Discussion Help!!!😭😭My Monetized YouTube Channel Has 35K Subscribers, but Her Views Dropped After Copyright Strikes - Should We Start Fresh or Change Content?

Hi everyone,

I has a YouTube channel with around 35,000 subscribers. She used to upload devotional status videos, and the channel was monetized. She was also earning money from it.

Unfortunately, a few days ago, her videos received copyright strikes, and she had to delete all of them. We uploaded 2–3 new videos afterward, but they are barely getting any views.

Now we're confused about what to do next.

Since the channel already has 35K subscribers, I don't want to abandon it without trying to revive it. At the same time, I understand that simply having subscribers doesn't guarantee views, especially if we completely change the content.

I'm considering switching to a different type of content, but I'm not sure which niche would be best.

I'd really appreciate advice on these questions:

  1. Is it possible to revive this channel, or would starting a new channel be a better option?

  2. What type of content should we create to get reach and grow the channel again?

  3. Should we continue with devotional content, or switch to something completely different?

  4. Would YouTube Shorts be a good way to rebuild views and reach new audiences?

  5. How can we create original content that is less likely to face copyright issues and has long-term monetization potential?

  6. Does deleting all the old videos affect a channel's future reach significantly?

I'd especially love to hear from creators who have recovered a channel after copyright strikes or a major drop in views.

Our main goal is to build a sustainable channel with original content, consistent views, and long-term earnings rather than relying on reused status videos.

Any practical suggestions, niche ideas, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Discussion I Thought My YouTube Channel Was Dead But People Are Still Finding It

stopped uploading to my old channel Puppetory about 6 months ago. Honestly, I thought the channel was pretty much dead.

But today I checked my YouTube Studio analytics and something caught my attention.

In the last 28 days, the channel reached 221 unique viewers.

178 were new viewers who discovered my content for the first time. Another 40 were casual viewers, and 3 were regular viewers.

That might not sound like much, but after 6 months without uploading, seeing new people still discover my old videos feels different.

It made me realize something. Maybe a channel isn't completely dead just because you stop posting. Sometimes your old content can still reach people.

I'm thinking about bringing Puppetory back, but I want to be smart about it instead of uploading randomly again.

For those of you who have revived an inactive YouTube channel, I have a few questions.

Did you continue with your old channel or start a new one?

How long did it take for your views to recover after returning?

And would you focus on Shorts, long form videos, or both?

I'd genuinely appreciate hearing about your experiences because I'm trying to figure out whether Puppetory deserves another shot.

Discussion 20s Stream Delay on OBS

OKAY so I use OBS to stream with my videos and stuff like that, but the issue is that my stream has a 20s delay, which is really frustrating when I'm trying to talk to my chat AND ending my streams, my outro always gets cuts out BEFORE i even try to cut stream, and my fan's chats are also heavily delayed.

I've tried messing around with settings for YouTube and OBS, because again this is frustrating me and i'm heavily hardheaded so I wanted to figure it out myself before asking for help, but it's starting to get a bit frustrating and I want to try to fix it.

I've tried changing the stream on YouTube (by going into livestreams and scrolling down in the settings), to "Low-Latency" and then "Ultra-Low-Latency", but it lagged stream HORRIBLY and didn't seem to be as much of help. I also changed the settings that mentioned delay to a lower number to fix it but it ALSO didn't work, and again, just lagged the stream.
I think i tried other stuff too but it just didn't work as well. It barely changed the amount.

I realize that YouTube and OBS needs to have that delay because of the fact that if it doesn't, it'll lag the stream even more and have more issues, along with the processing of YouTube and OBS compared together will also completely mess up the stream entirely, which would be even more frustrating, but I don't think I need a 20s delay? Is there any way that I can fix this?

Please mind that I'm not experienced with OBS whatsoever. I got recommended to this website after a friend noticed I was struggling OR I found it myself, I don't nessicarily remember which sadly but I'm very much new to OBS and not sure of the ways to get around problems like this or ways to FIX these problems yet. It would help if it was long paragraphs cause i'm better at understanding those long paragraphs instead of the shorter ones.

Collab Need raw videos for building portfolio..

Hey! I'm building my portfolio as a short-form video editor. I'm looking for real, unedited talking-head or podcast footage to turn into a professional 30–60-second Reel.

I can edit one short clip for free in exchange for permission to showcase the finished edit in my portfolio. I'm comfortable with captions, motion graphics, B-roll, sound design and retention-focused pacing.

If you have unused footage, I'd love to collaborate!

Discussion Why Is YouTube Not Pushing My Video Despite Good Stats?

My video has been up for 3 days, but it only has 241 views. Why isn't YouTube recommending it more?

Stats:

- Impressions: 822

- CTR: 10%

- Average view duration: 1:47

- Average percentage viewed: 47%

- First 30-second retention: 60%

- Browse average viewed: 54%

- Watch time: 5.6 hours

Traffic sources:

- Browse features: 51%

- Notifications: 15.8%

- Channel pages: 11.2%

- Other YouTube features: 8.7%

- YouTube Search: 4.1%

- Suggested videos: 0.4%

Are these stats good? Why is YouTube barely recommending my video after 3 days?

Discussion How do I promote myself better?

I have this big issue of promoting myself and finding out what works. I used to have a channel, 816 subscribers but it got taken down because YT thought i was 12 when i was NOT, i am 18. Now working on two channels at once and having huge issues with promoting myself and figuring out how to attract the biggest audience.

I'm more focused on my gaming channel however.. My gacha channel im not as worried about JUST YET but gaming is a bit of a struggle..

Collab Suche Nach Youtubern. Bin ich richtig?

Hey zusammen!

Discussion 1. Have you ever saved a bad CTR? 2. How important is the category you tell YouTube to put your video in to?

  1. I have had some atrocious CTR’s and even my most recent video is only 16 hours in and <3% CTR. Curious on if it’s already essentially did or if anyone has ever had an experience saving a CTR like this. One time I did, but it got 10k impressions before I changed the thumbnail to where it spiked to like 15%, but it wasn’t enough for YT to keep pushing.

  2. I make UFO content. I go back and forth between putting it in the science category when I discuss more of the theorized science, entertainment when I tell someone’s story, or news when discussing pentagon ufo file drops and including news clips. I’m starting to think my videos always do bad when I put it in the entertainment category. I notice no one ever gives tips about what category, so was curious on how much people think this matters. Obviously it matters a decent bit because it’d be useless to put mine into a “lifestyle” or “movies” category for example.

Feedback | 08:27 | Let Me Finish Were there really only 300 Spartans? Animated debate with Herodotus on screen. Is the argument itself interesting?

Thumbnail

I make a two-character debate show: one character argues a popular belief as well as it can be argued, the other answers with sources, and the evidence comes up on screen as a card. This one is on Thermopylae (8 min).

I already know the opening is too slow (I’ve rebuilt it for new episodes), so please skip past the first minute if you like. What I’d really like to know:

  • once the argument starts, is it interesting? Does the guru feel like a real opponent or a straw man?
  • any timestamp after 1:00 where you’d click off
  • do the source cards help, or slow it down?

Drop your video below too, I’ll watch it and give real feedback back.

Discussion Best decision ever

As the title says, I made the best decision ever.. but not for the reason you think. Back in March I started a YouTube channel with my kids. They had brought it up several times over the past few years. I always told them I’d think about it. Fast forward to March this year. I caved. Hard. I was burned out between work and every day life. I never had the energy to do much after work other than normal cooking, cleaning and sleeping. So I decided to say yes to their request. We started a gaming channel, yeah I know it’s a saturated niche, but it’s what they wanted. I usually played dungeon crawler games like Diablo so I let them pick what we would play. It has been the best decision I have ever made! Not only am I happier getting time with them but I get to game too! We laugh scream and celebrate together and they have introduced me to games I would never play and I’ve introduced them to games I grew up playing. We recently started streaming too! We are small (only 56 subs) and still learning when it comes to editing and what thumbnails work but it’s truly been absolutely amazing going through this with them. We did at least put a spin on our aspect of the niche so who knows eventually we could get to monetization, but for now I’m cool with just getting to be absolutely ridiculous with them and have these moments with them. For context, I’m a Gen X, my son is a Gen Z and my daughter is Gen Alpha. I couldn’t ask for a better team of nerds to bring me joy and share our ridiculousness with the world. Best decision EVER!!

Discussion Did my second copyright strike kill my impressions?

I run a monetized football commentary/documentary channel, and I’m trying to figure out if anyone else has dealt with this.

After my second copyright strike, my impressions basically collapsed. Before that, my videos were getting pushed normally. But now my newer uploads are only getting around 100 to 200 impressions on average, which is extremely low for my channel.

I’m not saying the videos are guaranteed to perform well, but the weird part is that this only started happening after the second strike. It feels like YouTube is barely testing the videos at all.

Has anyone else had this happen after copyright strikes or takedowns?
Did impressions come back after the 90-day strike period, or did the channel stay weak?

I’m trying to decide whether I should keep uploading and wait it out, or start thinking about a new channel later. Any real experience would help.
