Hey guys!
Friendly neighborhood moderator, here!
Behind the scenes on this sub there is a war going on.. a war against T-shirt spambots. Over the past few weeks I've been tweaking the AutoModerator bit by bit to make it more effective at blocking the spam, and overall it's been quite successful.
Sometimes the AutoModerator has been a little TOO enthusiastic about removing posts, detecting regular posts as spam.
If you post something and it doesn't show up, please feel free to message the moderators and we'll fix your post for you, because it's almost certainly gotten caught up in our anti-spam efforts.
Likewise if you happen to see any T-shirt posts on the sub, please use the report tool to report them so that we can make the automod even more effective in the war on spam!
Thanks for being a great sub, folks!

š By royal decree: should you encounter your long-lost sister, you must present your ass for identification. šš
Saving her from a dragon is apparently insufficient proof.
Never change, Sierra. š

Left a little alien hanging in a trap. Figured it wasnāt my problem.
His mates later explained that it was, in fact, my problem. šš
Apparently the secret route in Space Quest 2 requires a character reference. š¤£

Larry 1 wouldnāt let you play if you failed the questions. Larry 3 lets you play⦠but gets less dirty with every wrong answer. š
Luckily, these felt a lot easier than the first gameās questions. Sierra finally lowered the entry requirements for bad behaviour. š¤£

Prince Alexander helps himself to the porridge, breaks the chair, then goes upstairs for a nap. šš»
Apparently, āYour Majestyā doesnāt count as a booking confirmation. š

For me, it seems to be around B and C. I do remember really liking the look of King's Quest V (style D) when it came out, but several other games of that era did not impress me visually for some reason.

Many years ago I sold a few paintings to someone named Shooter Jennings and was like....that name sounds familiar! Yes, the son of Waylon Jennings is a big retro video game fan, particularly of old Sierra games. Then he asked me to paint some of his favorite memories from the SQ and KQ games. Then he invited my wife and I to go see a show he played with Lukas Nelson, and we got to hang out backstage all night. Such a random, cool experience. Thought I would share.
Anyways, thanks for looking!

Youāre supposed to distract the Labion Terror Beast with a Rubikās Cube. Or⦠leave the screen and come straight back. Apparently, he loses interest faster than I do.
And remember that whistle? The order form says FREE.
One game later, Arnoidās hunting us down for unpaid debt.

Hey everyone!
I just got back from the Portland Retro Gaming Expo and had the opportunity to meet Al Lowe! I brought my copy of Leisure Suit Larry 6: Shape Up or Slip Out! for him to autograph, and When Al saw the jewel case and CD artwork, he seemed genuinely surprised. He told me heād never seen a copy like mine before.
It made me a little concerned that I might have an unofficial or bootleg copy (and embarrassed if I brought him one on accident lol) I asked him about it, and he said he believed it was legitimate, but heād never encountered that particular version.l,and he "wasn't really involved with all that."
That got me curious, so Iāve been trying to identify exactly what I have.
Hereās what Iāve found so far:
The CD is marked ©1994 Sierra On-Line.
The disc explicitly states āFOR BUNDLE AND OEM ONLY.ā
The inner ring has the matrix inscription āDATAWARE PC 1011.ā
The disc artwork features a black-and-white illustration of Larryās face, rather than the more commonly seen cherry artwork.
The jewel case has a colorful front insert and a fairly plain blue back insert.
Iāve found references to a 1994 OEM release of Larry 6, but I havenāt been able to find photographs of another copy matching my disc artwork or matrix number.
Iām wondering if anyone here recognizes this particular pressing or knows what hardware/software bundle it might have originally been distributed with.
A few questions:
Has anyone seen this exact CD artwork before?
Does anyone recognize the DATAWARE PC 1011 matrix?
Is this a known OEM variant, or potentially a less-documented pressing?
Is there any way to verify its authenticity or original distribution?
Or Am I just trippin?
Iāve attached photos of the CD and packaging.
Al was so kind enough to sign both the disc and cover, and I even got a photo with him!
Iād really appreciate any information.
I would love to know more about the history behind this copy. I didn't expect Al to react that way.
Thanks!
