I've been thinking about how the O5 Council can remain completely hidden while still maintaining influence over the world for centuries.
My theory is that each O5 member maintains a bloodline family and a designated successor line.
The O5s themselves do not get replaced, interact with the public, or reveal their identities. They remain exactly as they are in most SCP interpretations: hidden in the shadows and impossible to reach directly.
Instead, their descendants and successors act as their connection to the outside world.
These successors are not O5 members. They're public-facing representatives who handle businesses, political connections, Foundation front organizations, research institutions, and other activities that require interaction with the normal world.
In my headcanon:
- The O5 Council remains the true authority.
- Every O5 maintains a successor bloodline.
- Successors inherit influence, resources, and responsibilities.
- Governments and major organizations may deal with successors without realizing who they actually work for.
- Some successors might not even know the full truth about the Foundation.
- The O5s can remain hidden indefinitely because their families act as intermediaries.
What do you guys think? Would something like this fit into your SCP headcanon, or do you think the O5s would never trust their own bloodlines with that much influence?
