my roommate smells like shit

i don’t know what to do because i’ve already tried talking to them politely about the smell coming from them but they say they don’t smell anything and brush me off. they smell like sweaty onions constantly, only shower in the morning for 5 minutes max, and don’t use any deodorant. i don’t want to be rude and tell a ra because it must be really embarrassing to be told you stink but i really can’t take it anymore, the stench is making my head hurt.

Stop touching other people’s shit

Every now and then for the past two years I’ve seen chicken tenders and starbucks drinks on my bike. Saw this on my front wheel today. I’ve seen people touch gear shifters on my bike as well. Learn to not touch people’s shit. Grow up.

Where are all the girls’ nights, networking events & house parties??

21F transfer junior here! I’ve been wanting to branch out more at Stony and meet other girls who are ambitious, career-driven, but also love going out and having a good time! With having work and school making time for socializing and making a new friend can be challenging.
Being a transfer, I feel like I’m still figuring out the social scene here, and I’d love to find a group of girls or just people to do everything from coffee dates and study sessions to girls’ nights, house parties, and fun little outings.
Does anyone know of any women-focused networking events, social clubs, or upcoming parties? Please drop them below!! 💕
And if you’re also looking to make new friends Dm me! I’d honestly love to get a group of us together for a girls’ social/networking night where we can meet, make connections, and hopefully form some friendships!

RN-to-BSN program

I’m currently finishing up my Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in NYC from a CUNY program and planning to bridge to my BSN right away while working as an RN. I’m looking heavily into Stony Brook’s distance learning RN-to-BSN program.

For those of you who graduated from or are currently in SBU's RN-to-BSN program:

  • Did having Stony Brook on your resume make a noticeable difference when applying to top NYC Magnet hospital networks (like NYU Langone, MSKCC, Mount Sinai, NewYork-Presbyterian)?
  • How was the workload while working bedside shifts full-time/part-time?
  • Did SBU help open doors for competitive specialty units (like L&D, ICU, ED) or nurse residency programs?

How do I get letters of recommendation

Hello, I am a freshman aiming for REUs next summer, I'll need them by at least February.

But I don't know which professors to ask, or if I am just cooked.

Currently for STEM I'm taking MAT 303 (with Chen Zhang) MAT 211 (with Holly Chen) and PHY 126 (with Graf)

I haven't been to any office hours but I probably should go, does anyone have experience with REUs or these professors, please help me

Girl I like is in a club I’m not in

Basically I went to an event this club was holding and I met this girl there. Well more like she was the one running the event with other people in the club and I didn’t really talk to her but I regret it now. I also got no classes with her either, what am I supposed to do cause if I wait too long she gonna be taken for sure. If anyone knows what I could do let me know, cause I can’t join the club.
